Come to Role Play University – we can help you make the most of your Nation States experience.

Learn everything from the basics of role-playing to advanced tactics and logistics taught by actual, real-life military personnel.

Q: What is Role Play University?

A: Role Play University is both a region and an off-site forum
( http://rpu.board.dk3.com/2/ )

Q: Do I have to join your region to take classes?

A: No. You can simply register at the off-site forum, and begin the classes right away.

Q: Who teaches at RPU?

A: We have a number of highly qualified teachers specializing in certain courses. For example, Nation States Moderator and UN expert Stephistan teaches our course on the United Nations. I teach a course on writing a strong RP story line and in RL I’m a professional writer. Two of our teachers have RL military experience. NEW: Orbital Mechanics by The Evil Overlord!

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: Each teacher at RPU has enjoyed the Nation States experience and knows that that experience is more enjoyable when others know what they are doing. Our goal is to improve everyone’s time on NS. No strings attached.

If you have questions telegram me or sign-up at the RPU forum and ask.

Cheers,

Wolfish.

Unfortunately there is no way to track those that drop out. However - those willing to put a little effort into the courses are rewarded with superior experiences on Nation States.

Since August we have enrolled over 140 students.

Hopefully this will Bring more Understanding for new nations on how to interact amongst the Multitide of military conflicts and competing Political ideologies.

We have a course on tactics, and another on Intelligence gathering by Guinness Extra Cold - an advanced lecture series on logistics by The Evil Overlord. I would consider both to be less about the basics - and more about learning the details that make advanced role-play worth while.

The section on the UN ought to be compulsory reading for any nation wanting to write proposals

(::thinks of the 24 pages of proposals trawled through yesterday and shudders:: )

what if millitary conflict and monitary based economics aren't what i wish to roll play?

am i totaly out of place and in the wrong world?

what if i want to roll play the mechanical, social and environmental challanges of achieving and maintaining sustainable and gratifying universal abundance?

(even if some people don't want to believe such a thing is possible, i know i can't be the only one who would like to roll play with those who do.)

Agreed. Having Stephistan the Game Mod teaching it really helps. She's the UN pro.

Cool. That's a good idea for those who don't have the faintest clue of what they are doing.

Certainly there is a focus on conflict RPs within Role Play University - but certainly the skills you learn can be applied to any kind of RP. In addition, Stephs UN course has nothing to do with conflict, nor does Imnsvale's Character Development courses.

Unfortunately, that is entirely false. Good character development depends on conflict, either physical or emotional, to "develope" the character. A character with no external and/or emotional conflict won't be a realistic character. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

Yes - but within the context of the discussion, conflict referred to Nation v Nation conflict.
