Even as vengence was planned against those who sent the assassins to killed King Alern Tor Asha, the fifth king to bare the name Alern, the process of choosing the next king had began. Each of the 8 Royal houses began to goamoung their own to choose one canadate to put forth from their house and concidering each of the royal houses had at the minium a few thousand members this would not be simple and each house had a different method of choosing their canadates. Teritora was in for an intresting time as it always was after the death of a king.

The Royal house of the princalality of Asha they Narrowed the candatacy to 200 people who best fit their requirements for a candate they frist had a mock war then the remaining candates who made it though the war went through a tournament and the winner became the house's canadate. The Borls had a mock naval battle between candates, with the one leading the winning fleet becoming their canadate. The Dorls choose the most honestly reglious among themselves. The Vorls put forth their High Prince as a canadate. The Zorls simply choose the head of the second brother of head of the house. The Zorlen choose the head of the most senior cadet line of their house as their canadate. the Gabivovos got together and their house elected their canadate. The Torl's canadate got the place by having all the other candates assassinated or discredited just as they tried to do to each other for that was the Torl way. Now the real fun would as the canadates struggled agaist each other.

OOC:Ah politics, no civil wars coming, plenty of moves and counter movies, assassations and other fun though.

With the Canadates chosen, all sides began to win as many votes in the senate as possable. Beganing a string of kidnaping rescueing, assassiations, bribing, threats, and counter threats as the great royal houses made their moves to get their canadate chosen as Crown Prince to undertake the trial to become king. The Royal houses, Nikja were busy indeed carrying out agaist or foiling plans of the other Royal houses Nikja clans.

As the time for the choosing came closer canadates began to drop off.
The Borl canadate was soon put out of the runing when he set upon by a rival house's Nikja and he, his knights and Nikja guards were overwelmed. The Gabivovos Candate aparently along with the rest of the newly formed royal house of the Gabivovos aparently all drowned at sea when their ships sank with all hands onboard puting them pernmently out any chance of geting on the throne. The Dorl canadate had a reglious exerence and ran off to join a monastery. The Vorl canadate "Accidently" fell of his houses central castle battlements. the Zorlen Canadates Plane blew up in mid air and the Zorl canadate drank a bad bottle of wine and keeled off after the frist sip. That left only the Asha and Torl canadates.

Uh... Instead of MURDERING one another why don't you just hold a nice, non-barbaric ELECTION and let the PEOPLE make their choice? After all they should have just as much say on who will rule them as anyone.

After 30 days of near nonstop debates the senate finally picked the the Ashan Canadate as the Crown Prince to under take the trial... To hunt down and slay a dragon chosen by the church.

OOC:If you are wondering why they took so long which just two canadates, theres 8,730 members of the senate and they need two thirds majority plus one to do anything.

After visting the massive Catherthal known as the Royal Chapel and holding an all night Virgil before the Altar, the Ashan Canadatem Prince Deran Tor Asha rode out of the city at frist light. With lance in hand and his trusty broadsword at his side, he went to slay the dragon chosen by the Church to be slain; Jerx the Black, a large 100 ft Dragon that was causing trouble near the capital.
