Your Roadway Systems - Describe It

How good are the roads in your country? Nice and clean, fast and incongested. Or is it a poster child for the New Jersey Turnpike (north of all the Brunswicks)? Is it dirt and mud ruts? Or have you advanced past this?

Post up. Pictures are acceptable.

We use only hovertrains for planetary transportation. They are fast (up to 1,000 miles an hour), efficient, clean, quiet, and safe; and since they run on strict schedules that are computer controlled, congestion is almost unheard of.

While cars are still the most common mode of transportation, The skyways have become very popular inside our Megaopolis cities. Zeppelins, Helicopters, and low-speed planes crowd the sky, but are safely controlled.

As a new nation, we have modern road systems but they aren't cheap to maintain. They work, people get to where they need to go and problems are view. Frequent cautionary signs help protect the people.

We have a great, clean, modern road system. Our biggest highway is the one that links Port Nanaka (largest city) with Nanakapolis (capital city). Traffic isn't a problem as the highways are six-laned, big roads are three-laned, average roads are two-laned, and minor roads are one-laned. The Resurrected Lands of Nanakaland has a population of 928 million to support in the roads, but we manage to do it.

(We were deleted because of inactivity and a mod resurrected us. We did not cheat to get such a big population.)

We don't have roads.

Our highways are modernized. In some urban areas, we have double decker roadways and underground tunnels which ease congestion. We also heavily promote mass transit.

Sparse road coverage, as most people see no need to travel great distances, and we protect the enviroment before everything else.

What is there is well maintained, and capable of handling the traffic flow.

Catholic Europe's transport system is atrocious.

After years of severe underfunding, incomparable to many nations, Catholic Europe's cities, towns and villages, face the worst traffic jams (at least in the Middle East region).

Public transport, which is even less funded, is reguarly at breaking point, unable to cope with the sheer demand of passengers, especially in the mega cities of Catholic Europe. Images of train derailments are also, unfortunately, frequent in the Catholic European media as the years of underfunding takes its toll on the worn out metal that is the railway tracks.

Although we have roads, all transportation is public, as in the people get around by foot, on the subway, trains, and a few buses. The roads are mostly reserved for party leaders and military or merchant vehicles.

We live in caves and haven't invented the wheel yet. :(

Just kidding. We have wide roads, paved with asphalt, cement or concrete, with lots of road signs to protect the populace from themselves, but hydrogen cars are the only types available. Gasoline-powered cars need a special permit.

Mostly underground in cities and covered by thick trees in the country, the most used are city streets. The country roads are the same as any first world nation, but they are almost completely devoid of traffice as most of intercity travel is by air. The lifelessness of these roads appeals to the speed freaks, who have successfully pentioned for a seperate speed limit for high performance vehicles, which is posted at 250 MPH.

This is enforced by police in the latest pursuit cars, tuned to provide maxium high end power.(sort of like Mad Max) The death toll on these roads is high for patrols and speed freaks, but that doesn't stop the popularity of them.

We [...] haven't invented the wheel yet. :(Actually, that's sort of why we don't have cars...We didn't get the wheel until the middle ages, and never got used to wheeled transport!

our city streets are congested, horrible places that often have many potholes. our rail network and subway networks often run on tracks imbedded in the roads, and buses constantly increase congestion and smog. however, in aries and a handfull of other citys, the city streetsv are not frequntly used, and are most of the time almost perfect. all the highways are very good condition, and underground roads and hioghways are becoming increaingly popular with the goverment. in about 10 years, the roads will probaly be in much better condition.

Teritora's road system while ancient in origin are not used much, the creatures of the forest and mountians make other means of travel much safer and quicker use even with hydrogen automobiles to use. However the roads are made of hard long lasting stone and do not need much matinance to take of them and many people prefer horses to as you can eat a horse worst comes to worst, you can't eat a automobile if you get stranded on the roads. Most of Teritora is and mountians and foothills covered in dense forest
Torontonias

Torontonias has a moderate transport system, with, like many other nations a heavy emphisis on public transit, Futuristic high-speed subways crisscross in the major cities, although some of the smaller cities still run of the subways originally built for them some 80 years ago, with numerous overhauls of course. There are underground speedtrains that link the cites, although there is a highway system linking them also. The only fault in the system is that the buses have not been replaced or upgraded in 60 years, so now we are facing mass decomissions in the force.

In the cities, roads are moderatly wide, and there are public sidewalks and pedways for the people who enjoy walking

All in all, Torontonias has a fairly good road system
