Invitation to feline and feline-loving nations

Yetar
11-12-2003, 17:43
The newly founded Region of Felistar is dedicated to the free spirit and enterprise of the cat, welcoming nations who adhere to the principles of personal freedom.

In order to ensure a peaceful life for all felines, be them upright-walking or four-pawed, Felistar requests all nations to adhere to the following tenets:

- You should keep your Civil and Political rights above average at all times, this means good or higher. Economic freedom is appreciated but not required.
- You shall protect and honor a feline species as a national animal, you should also never resolve to put them on your menu if the issue arises.

Endorsements for Yetar from United Nations members moving to Felistar will be reciprocated as soon as felinely possible.

Signed, this 11th December, 2003

Though your nation may honor certain ethics by no means does that give you the right or even obligation to instruct other nations to adhere to those same principles. Also, a love of cats may be a weak foundation to put your country's move into power on.

Sire,

the people of Yetar are far from believing in imposing their views on the nations of this world. However, we do believe in living in peace in a region of like-minded nations, thus we extend our invitation only to those who adhere to similar tenets.

Should you not be one to value the personal and political freedoms of your citizens, you are free to do so anywhere, you will just have one less region to choose your nation's location from.

We hope to continue diplomatic relationships even in this case.

Sincerest regards,

Most honored Comrade Jacinta Nguyen,

we are grateful for your invitation and gift and we shall send our best photographer to seek out a fitting subject for your invitation. Due to our small size and large population as well as the high domestication rate of our four-legged citizens, we however cannot gaurantee to be able to locate a true wilderness shot.

We are looking forward to a closer partnership and an intense cultural exchange. Please accept enclosed the work of one of our greatest modern four-legged artists, Mr. Gary-Adrian Rudolph Field.

Most honoured Asparagus,

Thankyou very much for your gift - it shall hang in a prominent position in the Maneko Gallery to honour our nations' alliance.

We understand your position on domestication - we too have a similar situation in Catatopia. However, our general view is that a cat may choose it's natural environment and live in conjunction with humans - hence, cats which live in houses and the like are also being submitted to the exhibition. We do however, draw the line at cats posed in humanlike positions, wearing human clothing, anything that demeans the cat nature.

We too look forward to a future partnership and are most pleased to have made contact. Our only regret is that we are unable to join your region at this time.
