I just wanted to see what the politics of NS is. I'm talking in character so just put in what your nation is.

A centrist tends to be leaning more to one side.

Every nation has a different "right" and "left", so what are you talking about?
For example, in NZ, "right" is the side of the people who say the NZAF should stay in Rasmossen, and capture all terrorists there, and the "left" is the side of people who say we should get out of there.

We're highly capitalist.

I am center-left. But then again, I believe in a smaller government and am pro-life. . . .

If you speak Latin, then you will understand that:

All liberals are SINISTER politcians
and all conservatives are ADROIT!!!

(These statements do not insult liberals or conservatives in any way)

I can't vote for this because I'm an "Inoffensive Centrist Democracy" (not Right Wing or Left Wing).

Right is for idiots and hypocrites

Centrist is for those who like to play it safe.

Though some of my policies are quite right wing, private enterprise is illegal, and my country is quite socialist, so I'd have to say left wing.

I took that Political Compass test, and didn't realise I was so far over to the left...
28-12-2003, 00:34
Another thing anyone who's done the Political Compass test will realise is that left and right are very limited ideas, relating only to economics; social policies that are generally associated with one or the other are actually matters of liberalism and authoritarianism. A government that allows gay marriage, abortion and public nudity is no more or less right- or left-wing than one that bans them. They are simply more liberal.

I have taken the political compass test. T'was very informative. I came up as left-wing libertarian, although I have a healthy respect for economic development and private business. (However some people still feel compelled to label me as a communist, which irritates me to no end)

Once a particularly drunken idiot (roomate) asked me to "make up my mind" as to whether I'm a socialist or a communist. I should have replied that If I was a communist I probably wouldn't be living in England. "Make up my mind"? Why should I have to make up my mind for the satisfaction of others? Cretin. How I loathe him.

Kanabia is a proponent of workers rights and calls for an end to all forms of capitalist exploitation.

Join the 'Comintern' Region. We're just what you need.

Galdania is a democratic communist state, in which 'state-controlled communism' is practiced. Marx is held with not much regard here. We revere our own revolutionaries, like Grigor Illich Ulanov, our greatest Premier.

We are a nation based upon Ulanovist-Leninism.

OOC: I either took the same test or another one, and I was catagorized as hardcore liberal, but I kind of expected it, the politics of my nation are how I would run an country.

Iansisle
29-12-2003, 09:32
Iansisle has a very right-wing economy, with legal yellow dog contracts, no minimum wage laws, legitimate trade in opium and other narcotics, no state supported welfare, and so on. On the political end, we're an extremist libertarian state, with a parliamentary system designed to be fair to every citizen but to have no chance in hell of working. In short, an extremist libertarian country ;)

Myself I like to consider a Democratic-Socialist. And yes, NS is much more fun the less your personal views and your country's views intersect.
