As you know the MP-40 is obsolete, but we are bringing it BACK up to standards

our Engineers have increased the firereate, reduced chances of it jamming up by 70% and increased the amount of ammo a clip can carry (From 32 bullets to 50 bullets perclip)

We called it the MP-40A

If you wish to purchuse any MP-40A's just contact me.

Clip = Magazine :roll:

Errr...no

A clip is only used in the M1 Garand rifle. It was called a clip because 5 (or was it 8?) bullets were clipped together and inserted into the rifle. A magazine, on the other hand, is any box like container used to hold ammunition in the weapon, hence the name box magazine. Clips and magazines are two very different objects.

A magazine is a container used to store ammuntion. This can be seen in ships, forts, and guns.

A clip, or stripper clip, is a device that is used to load a magazine quickly. It holds a number of rounds and the entire assembly is fed into the magazine.

A stripper clip:

The M1 is still a magazine fed weapon. It simply uses an internal magazine. The infamous M1 Garand "clips" are no different from any other stripper clip in overall function, although they do operate in a slightly different manner

Err... no

"Clip" applies to all light weapon magazines. Other rifles besides the M-1 used stripper clips, as they are called, and far earlier. Why does everyone assume US (and to a lesser extent Russian) military hardware is the only weaponry on earth?

It really doesn't matter, forget I said any of that. There are more important things to talk about.

Someone else said it clearly enough already, so I shan't rephrase it.

If you want to be politically and technically correct, you must remember that a "magazine" is loaded by (or with) a "clip". For instance the magazine of an M1 Rifle is loaded with an eight round "en-bloc" clip. On the other hand you insert a fresh magazine in your faithful .45. The 1903 Magazine Rifle (as it was originally called) was loaded and reloaded with a 5 round "stripper clip" as was the 1917 Enfield. The Krag Rifleā€™s "magazine" was loaded with loose rounds out of a cartridge belt. An M14 Rifle was loaded and reloaded with fresh 20 round "magazines", but on the other hand, the 20 round magazine (if it left in the rifle) could be reloaded with 5 round stripper clips using the "clip slot"(or more correctly, "charger guide") on top of the receiver.
