Falasmayon Naval Fleet Review

The High Fleet, as the navy of the High Dominion is called, is a capable and versatile force. It aids in the protection of Proxima Centauri through its commitments to the Proxima Centauri Defense Initiative,and also extentds the reach of Falasmayon naval power across the sector.
The fleet is made from a few simple designs called collectively the "star" classes. 7 ship types make up the fleet with all of them sharing similar overall design.

The "Star" classes of ships are characterized by sloped beak-like prows connected to an engine block by a rectangular center section. Most of the ships carry hangar pods which look like large pontoons attached to the starboard and port sides of the ships. The sloped prow is nearly solid armour which allowes the ships to take massive levels of fire to their fronts without significant damage. The ships armour is designed to deal with kinetic energy threats. The ships utilize dampening circuitry built into their hulls to dissipate the energy of laser and plasma weapons. Also the prows of the ships have an ablative energy field, which causes energy bolts which hit the prow at an oblique angle to be deflected off the hull rather than being absorbed and damaging the ship. The ships utilize railgun like kinetic weaponry for emplaced bastteries. Only the WI cannons, H. Beam Cannons, and HEP cannons fire energy blasts.

(If there is anyone wondering about my numbers the Battlestar is designed to be the equivalent of a Imperial I star destroyer, the Warstar is designed to be a watered down version of the Super star destroyer.)

The Warstar is the largest and most powerful ship in the High Fleet. Only three exist, and each is the command ship of one of the Divisions of the High Fleet. The Warstar are massive ships, easily capable of leveling whole cities and capable of taking on entire Battlegroups nearly unaided. They are the only ships which carry the WI Cannon or the PSHS Launcher.

The Hvy. Battlestars are the mainly deployed heavy assets of the fleet. They are built off of a modification of the Battlestar hull which is extended to allow for more weaponry, without sacrificing carrier capacity.

The Battlestar is the mainstay of the High Fleet. Versatile, and tough, these ship combine significant carrier capacity with powerful weaponry to create a capable ship which is more than enough to deal with raider, pirates and rebels. As part of a larger fleet, these ships provide the majority of the carrier force and a solid core to any battlegroup.

The Patrolstars are the light cruisers of the High Fleet. Capable of holding their own in a small fight, they operate in squads as in larger battles. They use the combined force of their firepower and fighter craft to excellent effect.

The Gunstars, together with their cousins the Assualtstars, make up the escort forces of the Falasmayon navy. The Gunstars act in squads to mass the firepower of their heavt energy weapons to bring down foes many times their size, and use their number to screen for the larger carrier ships of the fleet.

The Assaultstars fulfills the role of Ordnance support for a High Dominion Battlegroup. Groups of Assaultstars use the massed firepower of their missile tubes to attack enemy ships and to break up enemy formations.

The Viper is a fast and maneuverable ship, with atmospheric capabilities as well as space combat roles. It is highly effective against fighters, bombers, assault boats, and gunboats, and has a limited usefulness against very small capital ships However, it is nearly useless against anything at least the size of a frigate.

The Cobra is broadly similar to the Viper but is primarily designed as a bomber craft. It has a pilot and a weapons officer seated in tandem. The Cobra is dangerous against ships, stationsand, ground targets; but is vulnerable to fighter attack.

Named for a dark and deadly monster from Falas legend the Razor Eagle is the fighter craft of the 12 elite squadrons of the Falasmayon navy. The ship combines the firepower of a bomber and the speed and maneuverabilty of an interceptor. The ships are flown by some of the most highly trained and dangerous pilots in the Alpha Centauri System and are a danger to both fighter squadrons and capital ships. Each squadron is named for one of the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Macragge is the High Dominion base of naval operations. It orbits Proxima Centauri in Geo-synchronous orbit above the capitol city of the High Dominion of Falasmayon. It is a massive station, with incredible firepower, and is the great symbol of the fleet. The citizens of the High Dominion sleep easy at night knowing it is up there.

The MTCB is a theatre command post for campaigns and for directing the actions of regional naval vessels. They are mobile, but not highly, and carry firepower and fighter ships comperably to a Warstar. Two MTCB's orbit Proxima Centauri near the primary moon. One MTCB shares orbit with the Solomon station of The Star Empire of Valinon around Neptune. Two other MTCB's are kept in reserve.
