Introducing SteamEarth's Colonial Armed Forces

10-12-2003, 10:57
With our recent relocation (see link http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=102063&highlight= )
the Imperial War Office has decided to set up colonial armed forces to help defend SteamEarth's future colonies. The first formed is the Colonial Air Corps which counts as being part of the Imperial Air Force.

The CAC will be using standard planes as used in the main air force such as the Type 140 Balmoral Light Bomber and the PR-1 Defender. A new plane, the S2B Kestrel, is under review.

OOC: very nice. New Monmouth would be interested in purchasing some, if we weren't just about in the jet era ourselves.

OOC: we already have various turboprops, and I'm trying to keep the RP'ing vaguely realistic. Our budget doesn't stretch to introducing too many more types of aircraft, although that light bomber is tempting.

OOC: *Tag* and: Nice! I'm a CS fan myself and researching something like the "Bloodhawk" (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101282&highlight=) but the William & Colt PeaceMaker is my personal favorite.

The Royal New Monmouth Air Corps ("RNMAC") is impressed by the design described, but doubts that funds for purchase would be made available given the recent service introduction of the upgraded Blackburn Bombardier B.2 (OOC: approximate illustration available at the bottom of this page (http://www.butteredcat.com/1933fga.htm)).

OOC:
I have the PC game too. I was a member of The Black Sheep Squadron clan, I hate that MS put it on the X-Box. Fliers are not fun on consoles :( (no throttles, no updates, no downloads). I miss CTF in planes by sneaking around by flying the nap of the land, ducking others by doing quick maneuvers through obstacles. All the stuff you can't on the console...

Edit: check out luft '46 (http://www.luft46.com/) some of the planes in the game are rejected German planes and there are plenty of other original planes worth viewing here.

The Imperial War Office can arrange, free of charge, for five Balmorals to be loaned freely to your nation until such time you are able to afford to buy some.

A most gracious offer, but at this time the RNMAC would prefer to reduce support costs by minimising the range of aircraft in service.

Very well then, perhaps is there another way?

We could station a squadron of the Colonial Air Corps in your nation for a fee and we'll help defend you from attacks?

By fee, we mean we pay you.

Her Majesty is yet again grateful for the offer proposed, but is adamant that no foreign military presence be established upon this nation's sovereign shores. We would, however, be interested in future initiatives to share technologies and research, subject to appropriate assurances.
