The Underground City

In the heart of LuceEterna (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=LuceEterna), atop the Palace of Light, sat James Kelter. He was acting as emperor while Michael Trent was away in The Underground City, which the Holy Order of Unconquerable Light had recently invaded. James was not a member of the order unlike most people in positions of authority in LuceEterna, but he had gained a high status amongst the people nonetheless.
Though he showed respect when facing the emperor, in reality, he could not stand him. Michael Trent had led his people through numerous wars - "crusades" - to destroy what he saw as iniquity. It mattered not how many LuceEternans died, the wars continued nonetheless. The Army of the Light, under Trents controll ceaselessly intruded into other nations activities. Thing were not good in the Holy Empire either. People were punished for breaking ridiculous laws that Trent had invented. Money that could be better spent on improving the people's lives always went to the military. Only in Kelter's time as emperor, had some of the funds been redirected. Many thought Trent was the worst emperor LuceEterna had ever had, but since Trent had made criticism of him considered treason, and punishable by death, few voiced their opinions. Secretly, Kelter hoped something would happen to Trent, forcing him to relinquish his position, but Kelter daren't try anything, for Trent had many allies, particularly within the Order.
Kelter sat down in his throne and sighed. He almost wished the daemonic people of The Underground City would return and assassinate Trent.
Such thoughts I have...the death of one of my people...but Trent must be removed...before he does too much damage to our nation...to our people...
