Roania

Yes, I did a factbook. But I want to do a full OOC explanation for each of my characters. I'll add them up a few at a time.
(Basically, I am a writer... and you might be seeing some of these guys in a book at some point)
Main characters first...
Prince Alexander Tyral Black
The traditional wicked ruler, Prince Alexander has a very rare condition. Somewhere along the way, he lost all empathy for anyone, or anything. He considers everyone, even himself, to be worth nothing more then what they contribute to society. He percieves other people as things, tools. Important tools, tools to be taken care of so that they can continue to be used, but still tools.
When his father died, that was when I started to send him down that path. He believes that his father died through too much fondness for other people, and has sworn never to fall down that path. Occasional flashes of emotion come through, (he is very protective, almost loving, of his fiance, Kelly Maxwell) but on the whole he views the world in shades of grey. Other then that, he is a fully normal 21 year old man... though occasionally lacking in judgement, as his fiance is three months pregnant and his wedding is one month away. Actually, a perfectly normal 21 year old man.
In terms of general weal, his karma is about average. Under him, Roania's first elections, ever, were held. He is a tireless supporter of the elven cause, even if only because orcs make too much noise and Morgoth scares him.
Almost constantly carries at least 50 concealed weapons. In his case, everyone *is* out to get him.
Kelly Maxwell
Alexander's fiance, she is the one object in existence that keeps him from plummeting down the path to madness and evil. A former soldier, being his fiance has softened her dramatically, to the point where she rarely swears.
She is currently pregnant, and takes great delight in giving Alexander a heart attack by leaving the palace with his unborn child. Her past is mostly unknown, though she is a half-elf... opening various questions about the Phalanixians that sadly, can not be asked in Roania.
The Inquisition
The Holy Roanian Inquisition is one of the most powerful organisations in Roania. Its members run the gamut from the fanatical High Inquisitor Biagio, to the sarcastic and cynical Simon Darquis, through to the innocent and torn Kigari Waters. Their modus operandi is essentially to do whatever it takes to protect Roania.
In the service of the Prince, all can be excused.
I based the HRI on both the Whitecloaks, and the Seradan of the Kain games. For the most part, they don't care about what you were doing or who you serve, if you look evil, they take you.
Simon Darquis II
One of the exceptions to that rule is Simon Darquis, a quick-thinker who knows he's superior to everyone else. Generally two steps ahead of the opposition, his one flaw is that he is an uncurable romantic. He has fallen prey to the general Roanian vice of liking lots and lots of small weapons.
When we first meet him, his character is rather bland, taking his task of Holy Warrior far too seriously. Next, however, he is working in the Port Agua undercity when he rescues a 'demon' from uncertain death. From there his character grew. I added a father, who I also enjoy writing for, and a little sister, who isn't seen around very often. He has travelled the world more times then he knows or wants to know, and speaks around 5 languages.
I like writing for him, I don't know if I'll ever make it so that he has to become Duke.
Kigari Waters
Her past is unknown. There is a slight hint that earlier in life, she was harmed by someone she trusted, and she generally fears the anger of men, or being touched by them without initiating it herself. A friend of Simon Darquis, she was made ambassador to Tiburon after she got a little too close to the Tiburonese president, Nova Starfighter. The odds are that she was exiled, and that her ambassadorial post will last for the term of her natural life.
Of late, she has begun to question her status, her purpose, and her assigned role. The government really hates it when people do that. Her character just grew from the first time I used her.
Roanian Institute for Assassins and Spies
The RIAS is the Roanian KGB, dedicated to thwarting all external threats, whereas the Inquisition deals with internal threats. Its agents are trained to consider other people meaningless, though occasionally someone comes through with their humanity intact.
The Talon Of the Principality
The Talon did not. Based on Artemis Entreri, The Talon considers his mission all important. He lives for the hunt. Pleas, bribes, prayers, threats, all meaningless. He carries around an arsenal of death and owns a modified Blackship, the Dark Griffon, which carries even more weapons. He has no emotions whatsoever, to an extreme which goes beyond even normal RIAS training.
We'll be seeing a lot more of him...
