Note: the largest ship is the LRRSV Edmond Halley, the fleets most powerful single ship. We only built one, and there are no plans for more. LRR fleet doctrine calls for smaller, faster ships. The largest common combat vessel employed by LRR is the Michael Strogoff class heavy fleet battlecarriers, of which we have three. The David Byrne class fast combat carrier is LRR's largest fast ship, capable of carrying 150 corvettes and fighters, and sporting armerment capable of warding off swarms of fighters and bombers, as well as ion cannons to deal with destroyers and frigates. The Abraham Lincoln class battlecruiser is about the same size as the DB, but its capabilities will be discussed later.

The Blade Mk.11 heavy fighter. The Blade Mk. 11 is LRR's primary fighter, and the newest in a long line of frighters and corvettes based on the common blade frame. They carry a single pilot, with room for a second passenger, and are approximately 21 meters long. The blade Mk. 11 is a very highly manouverable craft, and mounts a single ion cannon. The ion cannon it carries can punch through corvettes in a single shot, and the fighter itslef is very fast and manouverable.

Quick Speficications:

Length: 21 meters
Width: 6 Meters
Crew: 1 Pilot (room for 1 passenger)
Armament: 1 ion cannon
External Stores: 4x Standard Size torpedos
1x Harbringer bomb (use not encouraged)

The Thunderbolt II bomber. The Thunderbolt is a very capable craft. What it lacks in manouverability it more than makes up for in armor and carrying capacity. It is the primary fleet strike craft, with the ability to generate and carry plasma bombs, deadly to cap ships, as well as four destroyer carried torpedos and/or eight pods of 'Dumbface' dumbfire missiles.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 25 meters
Width: 8 meters
Crew: 1 Pilot, 1 Weapons Officer/Navigator
Armament: 1x Plasma bomb launcher
External Stores: 4x Standard-size torpedos
2x Harbringer Bombs
8x Dumbfire rocket pods
3x Rocket Boosters

Cost: 1.5 Billion USD

The Hammer II class missile corvette. The Hammer class is LRR's main multipurpose corvette. It is armored, can carry a heavy load, and is capable of atmospheric flight. Inside its cargo bay, it can carry up to 20 fully equipped marines, or 6 tons of cargo. It is armed with either two anti-fighter missile pods or two medium mass drivers. Every LRR frigate, destroyer, carrier, and battlecruiser carries at least one Hammer.

Qiuck Specifications:
Length: 36 meters
Width: 8 Meters
Crew: 1x Pilot, 1x Copilot, 1x Loadmaster/crew chief
Room for up to 20 fully equipped troops
Armament: 2x Mass drivers

Cost: 2 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/homeworld/images/medamanx005.jpg

The Rockland class patrol destroyer. The Rockland is a very good craft for the odd task. It has good speed, atmospheric capability, good cargo capacity, and armerment sufficent for warding off frigates and fighters. Rockland crews have had much success in anti-pirate operations on the fringe of the Sol system, their high speed and armerment allowing them to engage most pirate ships. The Rockland class is armed with two fast-tracking ion cannons, able to take out bombers and fighters, as well as two heavy ion cannons able to puncture frigates in the first few shots. It also has dual 25-missile each torpedo tubes. The newest version has missile bays which build and launch missiles capable of tracking fighters. Its crew of 40 and one AI can stay out on a cruise for as long as one year before conditions start to deteriorate. They are being looked at for farad system conversion.

Qiuck Specifications:
Length: 140 meters
Width: 35 meters
Crew: 40, 1 AI
Room for 20 troops
Ship Capacity: 2x Corvettes
Armament: 4x Ion Cannons
2x Missile Bays
2x Torpedo Bays
External Stores: 6x PD drones

Cost: 20 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/homeworld/images/Cryptite006.jpg

The Franconia class pocket destroyer. The Franconia is LRR's primary multitask frigate. It is known as the 'Pocket Destroyer' because of its high armerment. However, this armerment is got at the expense of armor protection, and it can only carry one Hammer class corvette, which is slung on the bottom of the hull. Its four fast tracking plasma cannons and two ion cannons can do great damage to enemy strike groups, and its speed and manouverability allow it to stay out of the firing arc of larger weapons. The Franconia is used heavily as a post-gaurd ship, deployed in very high quantities to space stations and bases. They form most of the LRR Sol contingent.

This ship has been retired

Quick Specifications:
Length: 100 meters
Width: 34 meters
Crew: 25
Armament: 4x Plasma cannons
2x Ion cannons
External Stores: 4x PD drones
Ship Capacity: 1x Corvette

Cost: 10 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/cataclysm/images/Bentusi_Advanced_001.jpg

The Super Acolyte light corvette. The Super Acolyte is LRR's oldest continuously serving ship type. All attempts to replace it entirely have failed, either because of reliability problems, lack of armor, or general performance bugs not found in the good old Acolyte. The acolyte is a true beast, at least twice the size of most starfighters, and with speed to match. Its armerment of two heavy ion cannons will blow most other craft away in the first shot. The only problem is the low rate of fire, where it takes a skilled pilot to score a first-shot kill. It is used to escort Thunderbolt bombers into combat, and to supplement Vengance squadrons at bases and installations. They are being looked at for farad system conversion.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 30 meters
Width: 15 meters
Crew: 1 Pilot, 1 Weapons Officer/Navigator
Armament: 2x Ion Cannons
External Stores: 2x Torpedos
1x Rocket Booster

The Michael Strogoff class fleet battlecarrier. The MS is a very powerful ship. Each one carries over 20 antimatter cannons, up to 70 point defense nodes, and enough missiles and torpedos to fill the horizon with guidance trails. They can carry up to 350 corvettes and fighters, as well as a small number of cargo frigates and resourcing units. They can duke it out with battlecruisers and some dreadnaughts, and Michael Strogoffs united with their battlegroup make a very dangerous vessel. MS battlegroups have seen more action than any other LRR units. They are being looked at for Farad System conversion.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 200 meters
Width: 140 meters
Crew: 120, 2 AI
Armament: 20 Antimatter Cannons
70 PD mounts
Ship Capacity: 350 Fighters/corvettes (between 15 and 35 meters)

The Sherpa class tug/SAR corvette. The Sherpa class is an excellent utility craft it is heavily armored, and equipped with two heavy duty fusion drives. Its heavy-duty magnetic locks can cart around frigates, and teams of Sherpas can move almost anything. They have a small passenger/cargo bay capable of carrying five pilots or 3 tons of cargo, and they are atmosphere capable.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 35 Meters
Width: 9 meters
Crew: 1 Pilot, 1 co-pilot, 1 loadmaster, 1 engineer
Room for up to five passengers

Cost: 5 Billion USD

http://www.strategyplanet.com/hwshots/shots/shotb035.jpg

The David Byrne class fast carrier. The David Byrne class carrier is probably LRR's most versatile and effective capital ship. It has the same armerment as a patrol destroyer, minus the missiles but retaining the ion cannons and torpedos, as well as having 30 point-defense nodes. It can carry up to 150 fighters, bombers, and corvettes into combat and provide them with repair and other services close to the front lines. They can also support battlecruisers, and they always travel with at least two battlecruisers and four patrol destroyers. Five-carrier squadrons can be very harmful to enemy fleets, containing over 500 strike craft, at least 10 battlecruisers, as well as at least 20 destroyers, not to mention the craft carried aboard the destroyers and cruisers themselves. Its crew of 75 and one AI can perform a very wide range of tasks, including that of a hospital ship, a science vessel, a sensors ship, or that of a regular carrier. LRR no longer uses the David Byrne class as carriers, but as science and hospital ships. They are extremely well suited to those tasks, with their very large payload/systems bays.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 180 meters
Width: 40 meters
Crew: 80, 2 AI
Room for up to 120, depending on the mission
Armament: (Science Version) 4x Ion Cannons
30x PD mounts
(Carrier Version)
6x Ion Cannons
30 PD Mounts
2x Torpedo Bays
(Medical Version)
30 PD mounts
Ship Capacity: 100 (between 15 and 35 meters)

The Olof Palme class Science Frigate. The Olof Palme class is probably LRR's most successfull ship ever. Second only to the super acolyte in age, it can perform all facets of science and exploration missions, and is fully atmospheric capable. The first commissioned Olof Palme, the Lewis Carrol, was built at Starchaser 1 before the station was even fully completed.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 110 Meters
Width: 20 Meters
Crew: 45, 1 AI
External Stores: 6x Rocket Boosters
Ship Capacity: 1x Corvette

Cost: 15 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/fanart/images/Arioch001.jpg

The Abraham Lincoln class Battlecruiser (design sketch. pic unavaliable). The Abe Lincoln class is LRR's best heavy fighting cap ship, the result of four generations of R&D. It all started with LRR's first few Avatar class cruisers, from where it went to the Perestroyka class, a design still in use today by LRR allies, to the Glasnost, to the BBS, to the Emancipator, and finally to the Abraham Lincoln class. It sports two heavy-duty antimatter drives which give it very high speed and manouverability, and 20 antimatter cannons, mounted on the drives for efficency. It has 45 point defense nodes, as well as two HW seige cannon like heavy plasma cannons. The Abe lincoln class is also armed with four 30-missile each torpedo bays, capable of wreaking havoc among emeny ships. It can carry up to 40 bombers or corvettes in a launch bay. Its crew of 60, plus 55 pilots can stay out for very long cruises, and can operate in almost any battle environment. The Abraham Lincoln class has been fitted with Farad weapons systems.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 240 meters (with the long extensions in front of the main hull)
Width: 50 Meters
Crew: 60, 2 AI
Room for 30 troops
Armament: 20x Antimatter Cannons
35x PD mounts
1x Farad System
4x Torpedo Bays
Ship Capacity: 40 (between 15-35 meters)

A picture of Starchaser 4, one of LRR's space establishments. It is located along outer-rim trade routes, and carries armerment enough to ward off even the most determined assaults. This includes over 200 point defense nodes, torpedo bays, antimatter cannons, and corvettes galore. Each starchaser contains a jump node, which can be closed off if need be, and also has the capability to service capital ships inside its great bulk.

The Agusta class Fleet Replenishment Frigate. The Agusta class is an excellent supply ship, capable of replenishing fleets halfway across the galaxy in a matter of hours. It can carry up to 500 standard size torpedos, as well as 500 tons of cargo. It is armed with a dual mass driver turret capable of warding off enemy fighters, and is atmospheric capable. It is seen here re-arming bombers in a training exersise. Its long range and heavy capacity reduce LRR's requirement for supply depots, and allow non-sustaining fleets to stay out on very long cruises.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 100 Meters
Width: 20 meters
Crew: 10
Room for up to 50 passengers
Armament: 4x Mass Drivers
Ship Capacity: 1x Corvette
Room for up to 6 fighters in the cargo bay

Cost: 11 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/homeworld/images/MrEman165.jpg

The Arrow II scout. The A2 is a very fast and manouverable craft. It is used by LRR fleets as a scout and reconnisance craft, as well as a trainer. It is not armed with anything special, either a single rotary-barrel mass driver or an eight-tube missile system. It is atmospheric capable, as well as very cheap to build and maintain, making it an ideal courier craft and light defense fighter for the more veunerable outposts.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 10 meters
Width: 2.5 meters
Crew: 1 pilot
Armament: 1x Mass driver

Cost: 500 Million USD

http://www.strategyplanet.com/hwshots/shots/shota925.jpg

The Hartford class Resource Collector. The hartford class is a very good resourcing platform. The size of a frigate, they can carry plenty of ore. They are also very fast, and can outrun many corvettes. Their powerful shields and thick armor make attacking a Hartford a very annoying duty, especially in the presence of escorting ships. The only major drawback of the Hartford class is its relatively low manouverability. When mining static asteroid fields, this is not a big problem. But when mining resource deposits in rapid orbit around a planet or at the mercey of close gravitational attraction by some larger body, a resourcer pilot would have to take great care to not be stuck in the path of an oncoming asteroid.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 105 meters
Width: 23 meters
Crew: 1 pilot, 1 co-pilot, 1 engineer, 1 geologist, 1 resource manipulator

The Concord class marine frigate. (Several Black ships on the hull of the larger yellow ship). The Concord is a very heavily armored ship, built to ram into the hull of an enemy destroyer or cruiser. It can carry 75 fully equipped marines, and is armed with several light railgun mounts with which it can defend itself from enemy point defense cannons. It has a large magnetic clamp on the front hull (it is vertically oriented) which allows it to attach and detach itself from the enemy hull with ease. It is equipped with two heavy-duty plasma cutters with which it can cut through even the thickest armor.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 95 Meters
Width: 30 meters
Crew: 10
Room for up to 70 fully equipped troops
Armament: 2x Mass drivers

Cost: 10 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/homeworld/images/mobileskimo025.jpg

The Boston class mobile laboratory/prefab science station. The boston class is an excellent science vessel. While not nearly as mobile and high-performing as the Olof Palme, the Boston can carry a wide range of specialized laboratory facilities in a robust and heavily armored hull. There is usually at least one deployed with each fleet. Multiple bostons can be docked to eachother, allowing them to form a fully functioning scientific space station. With the exception of several small modules, this configuration is immediately ready for use.

Quick Specifications:
Length: 80 meters
Width: 40 meters
Crew: 20, 1 AI
Ship Capacity: 1x Corvette

Cost: 20 Billion USD

http://screens.relicnews.com/homeworld/images/mobileskimo009.jpg

The Albany class deep-scan sensors vessel. The albany class is LRR's best spy ship. One of these can sit on the edge of a system and know everything that goes on inside. Its massive sensors array can pierce nebulas and gas clouds, and monitor even the most secretive bases. They can even detect stationary cloaked ships. However, this amazing sensing ability is got at the expense of armor, speed, and armerment. An unescorted Albany is a dead albany in combat areas.

The Montpilier class multipurpose vessel. The Montpilier class is a very old, tested, robust design. It is heavily armored, but lacks accelleration as a side effect. Their sensor array is perfectly adjusted for taking readings of asteroid fields, and they have a 50,000 ton ore capacity. They are equipped with five mass drivers for defense, and can carry 200 fully equipped marines. It's primary use is as a transport.

This ship has been retired

Quick Specifications:
Length: 130 meters
Width: 70 meters
Crew: 30, 1 AI
Armament: 4x Ion Cannons

The Hopper class utility vehicle. The hopper is a medium-sized multipurpose ship. It is equipped with a frigate-class hyperspace drive, and can be armed with mass drivers or in some cases light plasma cannons. It is used by LRR ships primarily as a transport vehicle from ship to surface, and is capable of transporting up to 44 fully equipped naval infantrymen. LRR uses twoversions of the hopper. The basic hopper, seen above, is the basic hopper platform.

But as for the pics, they are very big. But those are high-quality images taken by many homeworld enthuseasts!
