Roania bans the following books and people from entering...

Roania

In the interests of public safety, and peace and quiet, these books are now banned. Transporting them in will be punishable by painful and agonising death, involving lots of snails. And spiders.

And people named Joe. That is all we have to say on the subject.

Gospel of Judas Iscariot; Mein Kampf; Necronomicon; Every single Gnostic book in existence; The Book of Mormon; The Common Prayer Book; Das Kapital; Discourses; The Communist Manifesto

The following people may not enter the island of New Rohan, or any imperial provinces.

President Phoenix of Phalanix; Every member of the Shentavo family, unless accompanied by Inquisitors and being taken to the cathedral; The anti-popes; Morgoth; Overlord Var'chak; Premier Vladimir Putin; James Thompson, a 15 year old human boy living in East Islandia who was added due to a clerical error; Anyone travelling from Al Anbar or CACE nations; Everyone travelling with an Arda visa on their passport; Anyone from Knootoss or Brave New Ford World; People travelling from Soviet Haardregard must submit to a full-body search, and scan, before being allowed in.

Should they enter, they will be executed on the spot.

Well, in the case of Morgoth, we will *try* to execute them on the spot.

*Special Mention*

Anyone travelling from Raysia will be used as test subjects for Roanian weapons.

EDITED: Thanks, Belem.

You've piqued my interest.... what's this 'Gospel of Judas Iscariot?'

OOC: I saw it in the national library earlier today. Apparently it's Judas confessing and begging for mercy. I didn't read it, but it sounded heretical.
08-12-2003, 06:34
Well, to be fair, it was the guy's DESTINY..... not much he could do about it.....

I have a lot more sympathy for Judas after watching The Last Temptation of Christ, I guess.

I hope, someday, that will come to know your God and his Son as they really are. Until then, Merry Christmas at ground zero :)

Hmm.. Das Kapital but not the Communist Manifesto? The latter is usually how people learn about Marxism first off anyway. Kapital is biiiig and difficult for the average reader to slog through.

Um, what of comics? Unless you've banned those already. You know, people like Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Garth Ennis... Satanists, to the man, except Gaiman, who's Jewish.

Oh, and the Necronomicon: our Republic's Library has a copy of Al-Azrad's Al-Azif, along with about several dozen different versions of that text, in about half a dozen languages. Those banned too, or are you talking about Wormius' Latin copy only?

What about books by Nietzche, Schopenhauer and Freud? Those banned too?

Edit: Oh, and probably about 60% of our Republic's Library. It's a great tourist spot, though some of those books are kept between titatium and lead plates. You know, for safety's sake. I mean, who needs Eliphas Levi when there are books that can melt the unprotected mind clear from their skulls?

At this point, Roania might want to consider banning reading anything other than Roanian-approved material, which, I expect, will be a pretty small list.

Of course, they could always ban foreigners. That'd solve their immediate problems.

Outer Eugenian propogandists naturally teach night-classes in literacy wherever they 'open up shop' as it were. And young idealistic students are another 'target audience.' Peter Kropotkin was after all once a young Russian prince and the Tsar's own page. We also have many pamphlets meant for priviliged young children
(such as "Fair is Fair", "What Hunger Is" and "Little Boris In the Coal Mine") which we distribute with such classic fairy tales as Oscar Wilde's "The Happy Prince", "The Selfish Giant" and "The Devoted Friend."

Gotta be kinda hard realistically RPing an evil fascist nation that indoctrinates its slaves with a relegion that for all of it's absurdity and history of violance has a long tradition of humaniterianism.
