The Empress strolled through the garden, watching the children play fight. No more than 8 years old, and already masterfully swinging a bokken. She smilled at the children, and the older man walking behind her had an idea.
"Empress, if I may speak freely?"
"Please do chancellor."
"I see the way you smile as you watch the children practice, and wonder, maybe we could open the art to rest of the world. Not just the fighting, but the code. And it would be a wonderfull way to open ourselves to the rest of the world."
She thought for a moment, stepping carefully past the cherry blosoms. She pondred the idea, and smiled. "Make it so, chancellor."

[code:1:f8f35d16ec]To the esteemed leaders of the world,
It is with great honor I announce the opening of our borders to children of the world to study with our great masters. The way of the warrior is slowly becoming a thing of the past, and I hope to promote the ideals of honor and justice. The students will learn the Bushido code, in all its glory, under the watchfull eye of teh council of seven. I hope you find this acceptable, and send a student. With Honor

Bump?
Lord Rowan read the letter again.
"Bushido? Isn't that a human philosophy remarkably similar (but not quite. 'Weres believe that running away is acceptable, since it allows you another chance to fight later.) to 'Were 'Path of the Mad Moon's Blade'?"
Lorinis looked up thoughtfully.
"I believe so. The only difference is the unwillingness to retreat."
"I want one of our students sent over, and an offer to take in one of their students."
"Understood, my lord."

"Only one student? Ludicrous. Now what are we going to do with the 499 other ruffians?.. Oh, yes, we could shoot them. Take care of that, will you?
"Now, save the worst one, the most vile and despicable child in this nation, and send him to the school."
File on Hunter Scalawag:
Born July 13, 1988
Expelled from Elementary School Dec. 5 1996
gross violation of school policies including: cursing, vandalism, sexual misconduct, assault, battery, resisting arrest, and creating a threat to the general public (all at a Christmas play)
Arrested Feb. 27 1997
grant theft auto, larceny, assault, battery, resisting arrest
Arrested Oct. 11 1999
conspiracy to commit murder, felony burglary, arson, assault, battery, sexual assault, resisting arrest

murder 1st, murder 1st, conspiracy to commit murder, sexual assault, child molestation, treason, conspiracy to commit treason, murder 2nd, manslaughter, grand theft auto, assault on a officer, resisting arrest
Most of those crimes are capital offenses, and the only reason we haven't put him to death yet is because we thought we could insert him into a country and have him cause some mayhem there. But this school idea is just as good.

"Yo big general"
Mei Ling walked over to Hack and looked at him, crossing her hands. "I thought I told you to stop calling me that."
He laughed and moved his finger to the screen, displaying a message. Mei Ling read the message and smirked. "So is that how you just plan to get rid of her for a while?"
Hack scoffed and shook his head, "You know what she did last time she visited my station? That girl took my coffee and poured it all over my terminal. And do you know how much it costs to replace this state of the art terminal? I'll tell you how much it costs to replace" (By then Mei Ling was already mouthing him and making hand motions)
- - -
Several hours later, an application was put into the "International School" for Athena's (New leader of Darkskye) only daughter, Nara...age 13.
Kajiraki
08-12-2003, 09:36
Nara has been accepted, pending the understanding that she may be required to fight males of larger stature, and the runs the risk of getting hurt, as do all students.
OOC: All of ya Just RP your students arrival.
Mei Ling held the letter sent to them and smiled, looking down at Nara. Athena was next to her and hugging her tight, "You be a good girl and do what they say, you hear me?"
Nara looked away and sighed.
Mei Ling would laugh and look at her once more, "Hey, it says here you may get hurt...and may have to fight guys."
Nara turned to Mei Ling and laughed, "After spending time with you I'll make those guys cry."
Athena looked at Mei Ling and sighed, she always got along better with her then her own mother. She didn't want to go, didn't want to be away from Mei Ling, her mother, and her home country. Yet...she found herself comforted in the fact that her role model Mei Ling thought it was a good idea...in fact it was her who convinced her to go.
"Oh really?" Mei Ling spoke, "And how are you going to make them cry?"
Nara laughed and jumped, "I'll give them the Mei Ling Red Cell hand hold."
Mei Ling smiled and hugged her one last time, "You be good, and do what they say. Got it?"
"Yes mam!" she responded, saluting. Mei Ling saluted back and smiled, standing up. Nara then turned down the terminal and vanished after a final wave.
- - -
She soon found herself in a new place...far from home and friends, far from the normal. She stood outside the enterance of the school, holding a single bag of her belongings and looking at the enterance, somewhat unsure if this was the actual building. A Red Cell bodyguard stood with her, as they both looked at each other. He shrugged and looked around. Some super secret agent he was.
"Aren't they supposed to greet us?" he asked.
She shrugged, "I don't know..."
Kajiraki
08-12-2003, 09:51
The man who exited the building looked old, far beyond the age a warrior should be. He smiled braodly, and bowed from the abs. "Welcome to our humble school. My name is Katsushiro Okamoto of the Council of Seven. I will be your teacher for your stay here." While he didn't look threatening, the two swords on his hip seemed to stand out.
The Red Cell bodyguard looked over the man...well...he was old. Certainly no threat. He looked down at Nara who looked up at him and shrugged. "Well, looks like my job is done." he spoke. He turned to the old man, "Take care of her, she's a wild one."
Nara turned and kicked the operator in the butt as he walked off laughing. She then turned to the old man and looked him over. He had swords...it peaked her interest. Mei Ling had swords somewhat like those as well...
"Oi...I'm Nara from Darkskye. I'll be a student for my stay here...me thinks."
Kajiraki

The old man nodded, taking note of her attitude. She may be a tough one to crack. He bent over, and with ease, lfted her bag. "If you will follow me, I shall lead you to your room."
She watched the old man's movments and giggled...certainly she didn't need him to carry her bag but...she wasn't going to put up an argument. She looked around at the details of the outside one last time before slowly following him into the school. Whatever was to come of this, it certainly would be interesting.
What exactly was she getting herself into? The question ran through her head as she stepped essentially into the unknown.
Kajiraki

The school was fassioned in the old style, and looked nothign at all like a modern building. As they walked, teh man stopped, and looked out into a courtyard. A man was on his knees, a blade at his stomach. He watched as teh man stuck the blade into him, and began to pull it across his abdomen. The man standing behind him swung a katana in a downward motion, water flying from the balde, and followed through, the head rolling from the body. The man turned and walked on. "He was found to be in lead of a rebellion against Empress Ryoko. It was his only way to regain honor."
They finally came to a room over looking the courtyard, and Katsushrio pulled open a screen door. The room was devoid of electronical goods, and consisted of a bed on the floor, two closets, and a window. "There is no running water, to bathe there is a spring not to far from here. Your clothes are in the closet," he said, motioning to one of the doors on the wall. Inside where seven sets of clothes in the old style, along with a kimono for night wear. "If you have any questions, I will answer them for you now."
Following the old man, she was somewhat shocked and amazed. It was so old...it looked like something out of one of the books Mei Ling would show her constantly, something from ancient times. It looked nothing like the modern buildings and setting she was used too...suddenly Hack's computer console felt like it was not only miles but years away.
She paused with the man and watched, her mouth somewhat open as a man commited suicide in front of them. It was certainly a brutal introduction, yet...she knew of it. Mei Ling had books...stories. Still...she had never seen something like that up close and in person. She did however...unknown to the old man...see death before.
She listened to his words and remained silent, following him to her room. It was simple...no electronics...no running water...she sighed and looked around. It was so plain and...devoid of entertainment. What was she getting herself into...she wondered if they even had a phone to call home with. Mei Ling would most definatly get a kick out of this place. She took a few steps in and looked around, then turned back to the old man as he spoke.
She thought for a moment, "Well...how can I get in touch with home?" She wanted to speak to Mei Ling to tell her about this void with seemingly no technology. "And...when do I start eh? Oh yeah...and who's Empress Ryoko?"
Kajiraki

"You will get a chance to call home soon, when we go to Tokyo. Training will start when the other students arive. Empress Ryoko Kajiraki is the granddaughter of Emperor Ryo Kajiraki, founder of our nation. You may have a chance to meet her soon."
OOC: Kajiraki was formed when Togu Kajiraki (son of Ryo Kajiraki) overthrew the Emperor after the US used the A-Bomb on Japan.
((ooc: Ahh Gotcha))
Nara nodded and looked around, she was still somewhat experiencing some culture shock apparently. It was so different...no electronics nor running water? Kimonos in the closet? This wasn't exactly what she had in mind...well...it somewhat was...but she still couldn't believe she was living it now.
She moved to the middle of the room and sat on the floor, poking the "bed" with a finger. She sighed..."How old is the Empress?" she asked inquisitivly...the first question in her mind.
Kajiraki
08-12-2003, 11:16
"29," Katsushiro replied as anothe man entered the room. The man tapped him on the shoulder, bowed, and spoke into his ear. Katsushiro nodded, and the man left. "If it intrests you, our leader, as you would say, has arrived. He is the head of the Council, and we'll be over watching the training."
She perked up slightly and looked around. "Leader? Head of the training? Can I see?"
For a young girl, she certainly was very energetic and always asking a lot of questions...she got the skill from her time hanging around with her role model...always ask questions, alway seek for answers, always know who you are dealing with.
She stood up and moved towards the man, wondering what exactly would be going on.
Kajiraki
08-12-2003, 11:27
"Very well, follow me," the man said, leading her out back into the courtyard. It was empty now, except for one man. The body had been removed, and now its soul occupant stood, looking at a cherry blosom. He was 30, maybe 35 at most, and very well built. He was about six feet tall, and looked very at ease. He was bald, but had a sort of beard, and wore his swords on his left hip. He looked intimidating, yet, like a young father at the same time.
He heard the girl and Katsushiro enter the garden, and he turned and smiled. "Katsushrio, how are you?" he asked, in accented, yet other wise perfect English.
"Very well sir, how went the meeting?"
"It is set, we have a date to meet with Empress Ryoko next week, and she would like to meet the students. Is this one here?" he asked, approaching the young girl. He bowed deeply, and rose back to full hieght. "My name is Katsumoto, high Samurai of teh Council of Seven, and the personal gaurd to the Empress when she is on diplomatic missions. May I be honored with your name?"
As he bowed to her, Mei Ling's words came to mind. They had spoken in the car ride over to the Airforce base. "Now Nara, if they bow you better return it back. And bow low, lower you are, the better. Trust me on this." Mei Ling's smile comforted her as she looked at the man and bowed back. She didn't quite understand the full meaning behind it, but considered it a non-handshaking handshake.
Standing back up she nodded, "I am Nara of Darkskye, daughter to the leader Athena. It is good to meet you."
She tried to be as formal as she could, this one seemed like he liked formality, even if it was from a 13 year old who tried too impress him...

"The honor is mine," Katsumoto replied. "May I ask why you choose to come here?" he continued, smiling.

((Darn I need to see that movie.))
She tilted her head a little, unsure what to say. She didn't choose to come here...she was more told. Though she didn't want to go, Mei Ling was the final one to convince her to go. She told her all sorts of stories and things to that sort to make her feel more comfortable.
"I want to be a warrior...just like my hero. She is the best warrior ever." she smiled, her thoughts focusing on Mei Ling.

Katsumoto nodded in a sage like mannor before looking outward. "The sun is touching the mountains. Dinner will be served soon. Young Nara, if you feel the need to wash up, I'm sure Katsushiro can show you to the spring." He turned to Katsushiro, and nodded.
"Traditional dress tonight. Also, prepare the gardens, I feel a snow comming on."

The guards had Scalawag sedated for the plane ride. They attached the parachute to him and then cuffed his hands and feet. The sedatives were wearing off and Scalawag would be awake soon.
The plane was over the drop point. The guards set the timer for the chute to open after a few minutes of free-fall. They placed Scalawag in the cargo area, buckled in, and opened the bay doors. The suction caused by the two air pressures meeting caused Scalawag to fly out of the back of the plane, left alone in a country where nobody knew him, to learn some ancient rituals or something-- the guards didn't care much.
"Good riddance," one of them said.
Scalawag awoke minutes later, unaware of his surroundings. The last thing he remembered was 10 guards coming into his cell, beating and tazing him until he was unconscious. He looked up.
"What the f---?" he yelled. It took him a few seconds to realize that he was in the middle of the air, the ground getting larger and larger. His hands and feet cuffed, he did the best he could to land on the ground.
Scalawag looked around. Looks like some kind of school. Whythe f--- did they send me to a school? I ain't been in years.
Nara was by herself, seemingly alone in the hot springs away from the school. She liked this, it was peaceful, beautiful, and quiet, definatly all the things that an ancient school should be. She sighed and leaned back, extending her arms to the side of the sping and closed her eyes. She would think about home first...how long would it be before she saw it once more?
She would then think of tonight...what was dinner to be like? Traditional dress? Certainly...it was about to get most interesting.
Yet, she didn't really mind...as the hot springs answered all of her questions and troubles.

Katsumoto pulled the heavy robe over his shoulders, and slid his swords into their proper place. He looked out into the field, where the boy, handcuffed and tied up, had landed. One of his assistants went for the door when Katsumoto spoke. "Leave him."
"But sir, the snow will fall soon."
"I know."
Ardenwon arrived in his limo at about sunset. His guards armed with AK-47s got out first, then his servant got out carrying his bag and katana case. Ardenwon cracked his neck and stared around the grounds woundering where to go. "Boys where are we going to?" he asked his two guards."We do not know, sir".

A letter is sent, along with a student, in regard to the international school, and it reads as follows:
"We, the people of Criminalia, take great pride in our own forms of education, however when new forms of education become apparent to us, we are willing to learn. We, on the behalf of our own people and yours in a mutual attempt to learn, shall send a student with this message, one of our most learned and capable youth members to date. His name is Erik Tartavio.
With hopes for an even greater future,
- The Electoral Council of Criminalia"
Erik was the one who handed in the letter. A tall youth of no more than fourteen, with long, dark red hair and an almost babyish look in his face. His eyes were green, almond shaped, and his build was average, if not a little athletic. He looked eager to learn and be within this new home of tutelage and skill, and all the better for an ancient tradition of respect and combat engagement.

What the f--- am I doing here? Scalawag thought laying face down in the grass. Oh well, at least they didn't strip search me this time. He had learned quite awhile ago how to break out of the cuffs. He maneuvered his hands from his back to his front, and stuck one of his hands into his shirt. Scalawag pulled out a small wire and picked the locks. He was free in a minute and then made his way toward the closest door he could find.
Scalawag walked through the door and looked around. Not knowing where he was, he begain screaming at the top of his lungs, "WHERE THE F--- AM I? WHAT THE F--- IS GOING ON?!?""

Katsumoto nodded to one of hte other 'in house' Samurai, who left the room. He quietly approached the shouting Scalawag, and delt with him properly. Without removing his Katana from its saya, he swung it hard, bringing the wooden cover into the boy's throat. It wasn't enough to break his wind pipe, but enough to stun him.
He followed with a blow to the gut, then brought the sword down against the back of his head, splaying him out on the ground. "You will watch your tounge or loose it," he said, sliding the saya back into the belt.

"Everything here is so beautiful, yet so simple," he murmured in awe. "I know my country is down to earth, but this is such a magnificent manipulation..." he continued as he checked his closet, looking over his clothes and items, set a photograph stand of his family next to his bed, and sat down.
"I have to be an example for my country, and I have to be an example for this country once I return. I won't fail anyone...I hope." With that, he waited patiently for his teacher to arrive.

Scalawag quickly found himself on the ground again. He was still sore from the beating he received in his cell, and the blows from the samurai were too much for him to get up again.
"Where the hell am I?" he asked.
"School in Kajiraki?!" exclaimed the young man as he left the sparring circle, breathing hard from the match he'd just battled through. "What's wrong with the high school I'm going to now?"
The imperial aide smiled and bowed his head. "Your father thinks it best that you be exposed to life in various other countries. Besides he thinks you party too much."
The young man snorted, pushing his medium-length bangs black bangs out of his face. "I don't party that often and anyway, he's the one who makes me go to all those boring official dinners and all."
"You are the prince imperial of South Dalania," chuckled the retainer. "You'll succeed the throne, an important event, even if your family's power has diminished."
"Why do I have to go away to school? I mean, look at Edward Choi...he's the greatest prime minister we've ever had and he didn't take classes outside of South Dalania!"
"Edward Choi is also highly intelligent and has a gift for political views and oratory," smiled the retainer. "You do not."
The young man frowned and sighed.
Two days later....
The young man stood outside the ryokan style building, contemplating the Japanese design. It didn't really differ much from the construction of the Imperial Palace back home, but then again, the palace had everything he needed for entertainment. He was sure it'd be different here.
"I'm bored already," muttered the young prince as he hoisted his bags up the stone steps.
