OOC: Well, this has been 6 months of ups and downs. Ups include getting DNS-1,-2 off the ground under fairly stable circumstances. Downs include losing my first war, having to pull out of at least 5 wars due to everyone ignoreing eachother, and missing way to much sleep to post. Also having way too many Bryce files of my ships(including those still in planning stages) for my HD to handle well. But c'est la vie.

Thanks to everone that helped, and screw anyone that didn't. For the most part anyway. I'll freely admit I'm not the best RPer out there, or even nearing middle-high. But I try. Anyway, now to the IC bit.

IC: And there was reveling in the cooridors of the DNS class vessels. DNS-2 had recently gone civilian, and the two vessels had linked to transfer overcrowded people from DNS-1 to DNS-2. Now the party has over taken both ships, rendering them temporarily inoperatable, but the AIs onboard still manage to keep all of their dezens safe. A few hundred have to be carried back to their bunks after they pass out drunk. Serveral impromtu games of almost every sport imaginable begin in any space large enough to hold them.

The space around the motherships is filled with their regular retinue of ships, over 3,000 civilian and military total. Several of them have semi-organised races, and some of the carrier fleets have their Red Hawks compete in a inter-fleet mock space battle, complete with powered down lasers and paint missiles. A new ship is among the military vessels: The Silmaril (pictured here in a nebula) It appears that she will be the only one in her class of vessel.

Edit:text didn't come out, so Here it is:
The Silmaril. While the power source of this vessel remains classified, it has matched even the speed of the Apperition. People who have seen it claim it glows with an inner light.
The ship holds 20 human-sized sentients, and has 1 AI for it's ship's computer.

Onboard the Silmaril, where no one, not even a god, much less anyone else could even dream of hearing this...

"Well captain, she's a beauty. But do you think that she'll get where she's supposed to?"

"We have the jewel, the rest is up to faith and if they'll let us in."

"And all you have to do if you get there is convince them to come to help. That'll be no easy task. Gods won't take an order from a half-elf, you just need to ask them and point out that it's their duty to get rid of him."

"I know, but hopefully having the Silmaril will help."

"Captain, good luck. Your mission is vital, not to us alone, but to [Insert somewhat patriotic speach about saving the galaxy]."

The Captain of the Silmaril nods stiffly, and makes his way back to the bridge.

The dogfights ensued, and soon there was more paint in space than ships, leading to poor visiblity. It was no suprise that 2 of the ships missed turning after their collision alarms went off.

What was suprising was how little rubble was left of the Silmaril and the RedHawk that collided with it. But the flash had been proved to be a 1kt explosion, and nothing could survive that without it's sheilds raised.

~~~
The Silmaril and it's Redhawk hurried through Slipstream, headed to the end of the Universe.
It was there that the veil would be found, and it was there that the real Silmaril would allow them through the veil. At least, in theory.
