WTE Supreme Meeting: Restructuralization (WTE members only)

Technocratic Republics
06-12-2003, 22:06
Federal WTE Chieff Representative Siadir Oberthosenn and Head Diplomatic Chancellor Karloff Allamand steped down from the glassy MagPod, at the subterranean MagLev station of the World Technological Entity Main HQs on Tevashii Island, Sisgardia.
The station was empty, asides from the stationary SFN heavily armored guardsmen. As the two federal representatives walked towards the elevators, the guards perfomerd the traditional SFN salute of extending their right hand and touching the left shoulder.

Oberthosenn returned the salute with a barely notisable nod.

"I really hope we can come to tangible solutions with this meeting. The Entity has been stagnant for too long, and I fear their members might be too sleept to impulse the changes in our agenda -began Allamand, while walking alongside Oberthosenn- Have the invitations been sent to the international representatives?"

Oberthosenn noded "They are being sent as we speak. The whole Assembly will be invited, and I am sure the participation will be complete"

"I certainly hope so, I certainly do" Answered Allamand, words leaking out between a long sigh, while aboarding the elevator that would take them to the upper facilities.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The elevator went up swiftly the almost one hundred meters that separated the subterranean station from the HQ itself.
It's speed faded away once the magnetic dissipators of the elevator activated, taking the pod to a halt. The glass doors opened, and the two walked into the HQ's main lobby.
The place, as always, was a beautifull sight, an open space of hundreds of meters in extension, full of gardens and fountains. Hoovering platforms took people from one place to another through the expansive lobby, while hundreds of figures stood or sat in the different internal green spaces.
Above, the massive piramidal structure of the HQs served as a clean metalic vault, it's great supporting structures encircling the lobby in all directions.

Oberthosenn took her infopad from one of her pockets and called her personal hoover platform, one of the benefits of being chieff representative at the WTE.
The platform, which ressemble a metalical sphere cut by the half, floated towards them from a far point in the lobby. It stoped before them, floating a few inches over the floor, without making any notiseable sound.
Oberthosenn steped on it, followed by her companion. On her infopad, she signaled her private offices. Inmediately, the platform rose in the air, towards the great structure above, and entered one of the many connection tubes, used as highway for these hoovering transports, to get to any point within the mile high pyramid.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Her offices were found near the top of the pyramid, along with the ones of the other head representative of each member nation, with only the main conferences hall being at superior height.
Following the classical and conservative designs of interiors back in the Federation, the offices were completely walled by synthetical ebony wood, and parque of the same material covered the floor. Huge synthwood furniture adorned the wide office as well.

"The other delegates should arrive soon. I will make a finnal checking of my speech and the agenda. Feel at home meanwhile" Said Oberthosenn, and left Allamand in the waiting room while she departed to her office.

"Do you remember the early days?"

"Yes I do. Too few of us are old enough to recall those times, even though it was only a few decades ago. Our technological progression was of the scale. Every single week, we ascended to new levels of knowledge, and with that we integrated with regional allies beyond a level anybody had expected"

"And now we have come to a halt. Simply because we are making profits, and because our direct enemies are technologically inferior, we won't let ourselves be stimulated by knowledge for the purpose of knowledge itself anymore. This needs to change. We need to go back to developing quality, instead of mere quality."

"I could not agree more. Make sure I can leave as soon as possible. Reschedule my appointments. Make sure that I am accompagnied by the best scientists we have."

"Affirmative, Nejra Paktu'Sa"

~To the Federated Technocratic Republics~

The Vortex Corporation is extremely glad with this initiative. For too long we have sat back, watching as our industries produced product after product, ever so satisfied with our achieved level of technology. It is time that the spark of enlightment is ignited again! It is time that the nations of the WTE explore and break new boundaries again!

Our councelor for Foreign Affairs, plus a number of leading scientists in the Corporation, will attend this meeting. Let us all get off our lazy behinds and realize that the possibilities of science are still infinite!

~VTX

ooc: As for the Vortex Corporation: after the years of rapid technological developments in the WTE, we put new innovations on a low priority, so that we could implement mass production of things like hoverdynes and orbital assets instead. So that is the quantity instead of quality thing stated above.

The so-far most impressive ship available, the E.S. Flagship, floated slowly over Sisgardia, electrogravitors emitting a low buzz while blue and yellow lights shone from the underside of the silver disc.

Tevashii Island, where can we set down? We're carrying Chameleon and Master Aidean of the Celdr Empire of Eniqcir.

The Dominion helicopter slowly traversed the way to the island. Two members of the High Council of Talkos, retired Generalismo Simone and the senior scientist of the Dominion Professor Strangelove sat in the back. The Generalismo was dressed in his normal military fatigues, habit after nearly a lifetime in the service, the Professor was dressed in a black labcoat, big goggles hanging off of his neck as tinkered with some piece of machinery.

Simone slowly played with his monomolecular knife, casually slicing hair sized threads from his safety belt. He remembered when the Dominion had first entered into the WTE, at it's very beginning....but that was before the changeover, before the revolution and the troubles. He looked over to his companion, the Professor was toying with one or another of his inventions, usually the Professor was a near hermit, living in the Camp Luna research facility, but this was his area of expertise, and so, the General suffered with the absentminded Professor.

The Dominion had made great strides with the WTE, though not nearly as impressive as their fellow members, but that was due to the continuing troubles and distractions, it still counted itself as proud to be a member. The pilot of the helicopter looked back and called out through their headsets.

"We're over the island now, we're just waiting for clearance."

Simone nodded, "Si, bueno piloting senor. Now we can get to business, it been too long since we meet with these people."

The voice of the Professor crackled over the headset. "Ja, it haz been too long since ve've had a chance to speak with contemporaries. Senor Simone, I expect you to make sure not to make too much a fool of the Dominion, ja."

Simone rolled his eyes. But, scientists are scientists, and the Professor was the best one that the Dominion has had in a long time, was practically the only one it had for a generation after the revolution. But...there was the complex. The shining pyramid, refracting the light of the sun in the evening light. He could hear over the headphone the pilot talking with ground control.

"--his is the Dominion of Talkos diplomatic party, requesting permission to land."

it was about late afternoon when the telegram arrived at cupertino. it quickly worked through the the comm officees, and then through the various routers and switches to the sorting office where it was tagged and sent off the he various ministers that the message would have relevance for. the telegram reached the foreign relations minister, where he quickly skimmed it and added it to the agenda for the next council meeting which was due to be held in 2 hours
-----------

finally the council meeting arrived. each of the ministers explained their issues and plans of action in turn until finally it was the foreign Minister's turn to

"any old buisness?" asked Brain

"no" came the reply

"new buisness?"

"yes, this telegram arrived 2 hours ago from The Federation of Technocratic Republics" replied the minister as he handed a datapad to brain containing the telegram
"we are planning on sending the standard diplomatic corps over to handle the matter"

" that wont be necessary" replied Brain " i think it would be better if i went. can you please make the necessary arrangements for a departure at 9 am tomorrow? also inform ambassador Mex (ooc: the DLM's normal WTE representative) that i will be arriving and would like to speak with him before this issue goes to council"

"yes chairman"

"any other business?" asked brain

several no's came back

"can i get a motion to adjourn for today"

" i motion to adjourn" replied the internal affairs minister

"Second?"

" i second the motion" said the education minester

" all infavor?"

a chourous of aye's came back

" opposed"

"ok then meeting is adjourned" said Brain, and pounded the gavel

each of the ministers went off to begin whatever they had done, and brain headed back to his office to write a reply to the Federation of Technocratic Republics

To the Federation of Technocratic Republics,

the problem that you have called us all to tevashi island to discuss is indeed a grave one. i too recall the days when new technological breakthrough were common occurrences. however we have seemed to have fallen into a state of technological stagnation, i hope that this conference will free us from this situation and return us to or former state of technological excellence.

i feel that so grave is the situation of the wte that i have decided to personally attend this meeting along with Ambassador Mex. i look foreword to a solution that is befitting of the technological standing of our alliance

sincerely,
-Brain

The articulated arm that held the landing site coordinator seat in the air retracted and took the seat up, towards a serie of floating holoscreens. Two vessels, shown in different screens each, were projected between numerous lines of code, statics and assembly encriptions.
The landing coordinator touched one of the screens with his hand, which was covered by a holotransmitter nanochip, therefore granting him the ability to us ethe holgram as a touchscreen.

"Eniqciri E.S. Flagship, please hold while we codify your security clearances -the man made a few seconds pause, then began again- Clearances complete, please proceed to land on platform 4B" He made few more moves on the screen, and the image switched to a serie of command lines.

Inmediately, to the southeast of the pyramidal HQs, the landing platform signaled as 4B began shinning with numerous signal lights, in order to direct the eniqciri Flagship.

Meanwhile, the landing coordinator switched to the next screen. Codes from the talkosian(?) vessel had already been recieved and accepted.
After checking the avaliable landing platforms, the man opened the communication channel with the ship "Landing clearance granted. Please proceed to land on platform 4C" He then passed through the same signaling procedure, and the specified landing platform was signaled with a different light code to direct the ship.

Head Ambassador Irkas et Kalibura's message, in response to the direct telegram from the Brain, DLM:

I am sure that your Exelency's prescence at the Assembly will be most than welcomed, as for, as you well named it, this is a matter of prime importance, as for it reaches to the very corpus of the organism.
As always, the great colaboration of the Dominion of the Lab Mouse in matters of delicate level makes us proud of being allied with it's people.

Desty Nova stepped through the wide, metallic doors. It was always a breathtaking view, the WTE headquarters. Especially since he was mostly concerned with the (permanent) Mad Scientists Conference in DA, which meant that the time he was actually at the headquarters was somewhat... limited.

However, this made this event only more pleasent, although the reason the conference was held was anything but pleasent.

He remembered the 'old times', when there were new innovations, new technologies. Daily. The WTE flourished, it was like a dream. Or a nightmare, depending on one`s point of view.

However, at the moment, there was anythign but that. Nothing, really nothing. And he was honest eough to realise that DA, that he himself, was partly responsible for that, since they hadn`t exactly been active.

He stepped through the wide halls, somewhat amused by the difference to DA, where narrow hallways were much more common.

I wonder where i can get pudding...

A wide, somewhat mad grin in his face, he finally reached the main hall, where the conference was supposed to be held. Surprisingly few delegates had arrived, he seemed to be one of the first. Well, this would make it easier to communicate...

FTR flight control had organized matters as efficiently as expected. Without a second of delay, the luxurious aerodyne had been directed to one of the landing platforms, where it descended in the late afternoon sun. With the sunrays reflecting on the silver hull of the craft, the door opened and stairs slided down to the ground.

Dressed in the traditional white and blue, the TVC delegation exited the aerodyne, while the engines were still in the process of powering down. Just as the low, soaring sound came to a halt, Nejra Paktu set foot on the island. Nejra was the perfect representative for this matter. He upheld a position in the Daiamid Council, and was a respected man, known for his integrity. In addition to that, he also belonged to the leaders of his Kiith, officially entitling him to the name Paktu'Sa, a title he rarely used. Thirdly, he was the chairman of one of the councils within the Daiamid, the Foreign Affairs council.

He was followed by a small delegation of scientists and other technological experts. Each of the Kiithid had scanned the conglomerates* under their supervision for the best men and women for this conference, and the people gathered behind Nejra were exactly that. Most of them hailed from either Kiith S'Jet or Paktu, both of which had a long standing tradition of science and technological advancement. Some, however, were also from other Kiithid, such as the two Sobani. The Soban had recently made huge progression in the area of military technology, and many expected a breakthrough to come from the Sobani within a few years.

When the delegates had all reached the ground, FTR maintenance personnel walked up to the plane for inspection, which was requested by the pilot. A small storm on route had caused some damage to one engine, and one could not be to careful. In the meanwhile, Nejra and his peers walked up to the FTR denizens sent to greet them...
Zethkur
07-12-2003, 13:00
There was a tremendous buzz throughout the whole of Zethkur, since it had been leaked to the Zethkur News Industries that there had been an invitation from the WTE to an important conference. Zethkur had long been concentrating on purely internal affairs, and had grown somewhat stagnant itself. Would Mocata, who had not been seen in many months, attend the conference, or would he remain silent and inscrutable?

Inside the Imperial Palace, there was a rumbling from the deep. The oldest member of the servants knew precisely what had happened. Raymond took the turbo lift down, down into those dark bowels, into the Imperial Graveyard, the place where all those who were important to Zethkur back in the past lay buried. Here was the crypt containing what remained of Mocata's Family, who had fought to raise him in a war torn world. Here, the tomb of Roger Delgado, Mocata's trusted second in command who had helped Mocata found the new nation, but had taken the bullet meant for Mocata in an assassination attempt just after Mocata took hold of the reins. The assassin's name had been erased from all living memory, and all record of the assassin had been purged from existence.

Raymond moved to the largest crypt in this Necropolis, and placed his hand upon the keypad. The large stone doors swung open, and Raymond walked inside. He walked though the narrow stone corridor, and came to a chamber where, surrounded by thousands of snakes, lay a sarcophagous. Raymond watched as the sarcophagous lid slid open, as a pair of pale hands pushed it away. He then spoke "It's the Entity sir. They request your presence. "

A few hours later, there was an emergency meeting of parilament. They agreed that delegates were to be sent to Tevashii Island, to meet with other delegates from the WTE and the SFN, and that Zethkur would resume it's place as an active member and contributor. One question was on the lips of all the members of parliament though. Who would represent Zethkur personally, with the long inaction of the Emperor. Suddenly, a voice was heard throughout all of the House, one which froze all those who heard it into inaction, but also strangely reassured them at the same time, yet it only spoke two words. "I will. "

A reply was dispatched to the Federation of Technocratic Republics. "Thank you, friends and fellow members of the SFN and WTE. We agree with you, the Entity has become stagnant with time, as we have also. The time has come to break the shackles of sleep and awaken once more to our responsiblities as the cutting edge researchers and developers of the universe. We shall be in attendance. "

The Zethkurian Delegation left at midnight, Zethkur time. Travelling on board an adapted Floating Disc, it arrived at Tevashii island shortly after. The delegates were as follows, Ujifuji Jozen - People's nominee, and representative elected by the people of Zethkur from the House. Jefferson Lasey - Prime Minister of Zethkur, on his first major offical visit since his election a year ago. Also coming with them was a man who no-one outside Zethkur and almost none inside had seen in many long years. He led the delegation to those that had gathered to meet them outside the craft. His name, was Damien Mocata - Emperor of Zethkur.

Due to the fact that the passing of power from the Ruler to Heir was to be done soon, neither members of the Grand Ducal family nor members of the Senate could attend the WTE meeting. The Grand Duchy was busy preparing for the celebrations. Decorations were put up in a bit ever city. Children in the provincial capitals prepared to greet their new Grand Duke in their own manner, while the officials prepared to give the 'Oath of Loyalty and Obedience' to their new leader. And all this under the watchfull eye of TISD, TDI and TNSD officers, accompanied by TND AF fighters roaming in the sky thousands of kilometers above the ground and the TND NF Naval Groups taking position outside of the Grand Duchy.
Important guests would be in attendance and there wouldn't be one single security lacune.

It was in this atmosphere of festivity and awareness, that a luxurous aircraft took off from one of the Vigvar's Airport and immediately set course on the Tevashii Island. Aboard was the newly appointed Taraskovyan Ambassador to the WTE, Count Zethar Kerhat. The ancient ambassador, due to the stagnancy of the WTE, was 'thanked for his long years of service in the glory of the Motherland' and sent to Southern Bratsk with enough pension funds to live like a lord. So when the invitation came, the High Council, still in the atmosphere of festivities, had to appoint a new WTE Ambassador.

All the huss and fuss behind, the aircraft flew swiftly towards the Tevashii island, the night sky illuminating it in a silvery light as it passed above the clouds. The Aircraft began a descent and soon landed on one of the landing platforms on the Island. Hatches opened and Zethar, accompanied by a little swarm of diplomats and scientists, came down.
Outside, he was greeted by Taraskovyan elements of the Guard Contingent, in shiny bright new combat armor, Taraskovyan and SFN flag-patches on the left arm, WTE patch on the left part of the torso of the armor. On the right - a lonely black wolf, with a dark night sky on the background, readying for an attack, stealthily, deadly...
And right beneath it, the same wolf, on the same background of the night sky, was holding tightly a deer by the neck...
Count Zethar grinned. The Guards were of the TDI HAF detachment...

And then was the welcoming committee. Diplomats greeted each other in their manner. Scientists immediately began discussing the latest applications of sub-normal somethics. This was to be one WTE session to be remembered for sure...

The 500 meter long Stormcaller, the flag ship of the Tarran Triumvirate broke the marginal cloud cover after its short decent from orbit. it swept level in a large and beautiful parabola, and slowed, its nose, pointed slightly down, towards the engineering marvel that was the Island, it transmitted a communication.

“Tevashii control this is Teo Holtzman-Wisewood, acting navigator of the piece ship Stormcaller, on behalf of Cairn Tarra i Humbly request directions and procedures for landing as our kind have not journey to such a meeting before”

the ship held its place, awaiting confirmation
07-12-2003, 15:29
Waiting for the FTR delegates to approach, Nejra Paktu stared at the Stormcaller descending from the skies. As it touched down in a perfect example of piloting skills, he turned to the man standing next to him:

"That's a beautiful ship. Isn't that a CairnTarran vessel?"

"Yes, it is. That one is called the Stormcaller"

"How do you know her name?"

"Simple: I designed part of its new systems"

the vessel touched down on the landing platform, its lower dorsal wing structures folding almost unbelievably into the hull casing, the material form the sails went from a dark blew to a neutral pastel green colour as the ships systems powered down and the Photon Decay Processors shut off.

out of a rather ornate hatch in the side emerged a man, appearing to be in his sixties, his hair strutted between his shoulders and was misty gray from age, he stood straight and at least 6 ft 2 high, as he walked towards the nearest transport (thingy) without any guards or aids,

he looked at the control panel a while, then looked at for another while then he sighed, and addressed no one in particular

"ok, i give up, how dose it work?"

back at bakerfield international airport at the DLM the chairman's jet was being prepared. it was a rather small and unassuming jet and at only 23 meters long, it was quite small compared to some of the other craft that would be arriving at the conference the wings we swept back at a sharp angle suggesting a capability for extreme speed, but few had any idea how fast it could actually go twin engines were mounted high on the fuselage near the tail. all and all it resembled a heavily modified lear jet

preparations had barely completed when the Brain arrived at 9 am sharp. he quickly hopped in the plane and turned to the pilot

"ETA?"

"10 am" came the reply

" taking it slow today i see, no matter. i need time to review these reports anyway so i'll be ready for the conference. whenever you're ready"

"aye sir" the pilot radioed to to the tower, and taxied out the the runway as brain started to bury himself in the numerous reports he had brought with"

ah hour later the pilot said over the intercom "sir, we are approaching tevashi island" and proceeded to radio tevashi island for landing coordinates. after receiving directions the jet proceeded to circle the island in order to bleed off speed and find it's landing platform.

as they were doing brain looked out the window to see if he could recognize who else had arrived. he immediately noticed the stormcaller settling in for a landing, and a small smile of satisfaction crossed his lips. he could only speculate if it was partly the generosity of the DLM and the other WTE nations that spurred cairn tarra's to join the wte

after circling several times the jet started to make it's final approach run towards platform it came t a complete stop about 3 feet above the landing platform and landing gear floated out as it began to slowly sink till the wheels touched the ground.

brain hopped out of the jet, data-pad in hand and strode quickly over to the elevator, got in and signaled the main lobby. when he arrived, ambassador mex was already waiting for him. the 2 of them hopped on mex's personal transporter, and went to his office to discuss what could be done about the current situation

Eventually Teo figured out how the transport system worked, and arrived in the mammoth main lobby. he didn't address anyone in particular as he entered.

...WAOH!
......WOHA!
No i mean really... WAHO! this place looks so much cooler from the inside

he stood in awe for a few moments, then glanced about looking for people he knew, he succeeded in looking remarkably like a friendless social leper, and this was not helped by the fact that his attire was basic to say the least, he wore a simple brown 3/4 length coat, made out of what appeared to be thick flax, below that was a heavy black top and bulky trousers, he had obyously come from a colder climate, he clutched a bundle of paper, rolled up and tied by a green ribbon.

Mocata caught a glimpse of Holtzman-Wisewood in the lobby, and read his mind, realising that he felt he looked alone. Mocata decided that perhaps it was time to help Cairn-Tarra once again, and ensure that the old alliance still stood between them. Mocata approached Teo.

"Mr Holtzman-Wisewood. A pleasure to see you've arrived. You have only just arrived behind us. I trust you remember who I am?"

Teo looks at Mocata for a few moments... then the light of recognition dawns on his face, he bowed deeply.

“Emperor Mocata, it is an absolute pleasure to see you again, it has been many years, we have achieved much, but im sure i can speak for citizens back home when i say, we all owe you our lives... not that im technically allowed to speak on there behalf anymore but enough of that. I must say i am very impressed by..”

Teo gestures at the interior as he trails off... his eye caught briefly by another architectural quirk he didn't notice before

A green and white robed figure aproached the already numerous contingent of ambassadors, leaders and representatives from several WTE member nations, floating swiftly through the air in a personal hoover platform. His incredibly long beard, a common costume among the people of old age within the FTR, grew until nearly touching his feets. He was bald, and his eyes shone with preternatural green inner light. A broad smile full of white teeth completed his gentle face.

He ordered the hoover platform to halt in fron of the crowd, floating a few meters above the floor. He opened his arms in a welcoming gesture.

"Welcome, welcome -he began, with an old, yet very energic voice- most honorable representatives. My name is Zayler of Iskavengard, and I have been sent to serve as your host during your stay here at Tevashii Island" He rose his right hand, indicating several figures that came floating from different transport tubes in the roof of the grand lobby "These platforms will take you to your respective quartlers, while the finnal preparatives for the Assembly are being treated. Lady Oberthosenn has informed that it should began in no more than three hours. Meanwhile, feel free to make use of the HQs facilities for whatever purpose you may. In your offices you will find internal infopads, shall you need or require any service before or after the meeting. Further activities regarding the Entity, among which new scientific theories will be presented. There will be also a datashow regarding the Craftworld Project, and a coctail for the members" He gently leaned his head forward "Lady Oberthosenn's infopad adress code is BH-9917105. You can contact me at BF-7294702. May your stay here be pleasant and productive"

Said this, his hoover platform departed upwards. Meanwhile, the nineteen platforms, one for each delegation, awaited, floating few inches above the ground, in front of the crew, carefully placed around a magnificent fountain of nearly twenty meters in height and thirty in diameter, from which a great granite hand grew, holding within it's grasp a brain made of pure gold.

"Vonderful! Vondeful! Such a sleek merger of form and function!" The Professor exclaimed as he sketched away at an electric pad.

Simone sighed and stepped onto the platform, muttering, "I hope they have minibars in the room." Then louder, to the Professor. "So how come we don't have these for the army?"

The Professor looked up angrily. "Because you people, do not give me enuf funding! Vell, vonce the council sees how they're doing here, ve will see who gets funding for their pet projects."

Simone rolled his eyes. "Well, I'm sure you'll have time to observe later. But now we need to go see to our rooms...." quieter. "And get that coctail."

Chameleon and Aidean entered just in time to hear Zayler's speach.

Chameleon took his usual guise of a masculinized SHODAN, with the addition of a black trenchcoat, while the little-seen Aidean wore his usual all-black outfit, leaving not a single centimeter of skin showing. A single red LED showed through the veil over his face.

As they borded one of the discs, Cham asked "Do we dare tell them all of the things we've come up with while they've been stagnant?"
"Only as necessary, Cham. There are reasons why those projects are secret."

Pilias Simber strode down the hallway. He was most upset at the news, this was getting out of hand.
Several armed bodyguards cleared out of his way as he entered the hall. In front of him lay the dead body of the Ambassador who had been designated as the one to go to meet at the WTE headquarters. He had shot himself with a P3G in the head.
Another victim of the rising epidemic now offically known as the Pilon Longing, those who were sent outside of Pilon experianced symptoms of depression and there had been several reported deaths, all suicides.
He would have to appoint another to go and he knew just the person, Ben Richards, Speaker of Technology. He could think of no better choice.

Ben Richards arrived at the Island via a small organic craft that shot just above the surface of the ocean. After receiving landing clearance it landed and spit out its occupant before returning to Pilon. Even the ships were beginning to show sign of the Pilon Longing.
Ben Richards hurried inside already late, this was most inconviniant but as Pilias had said, it was very important.

Teo stood about and waited for the other delegates to move off before he himself made much action, he regarded the floating panels with a mixture of amusement and terror... he never liked flying, hights were fine, no matter how tall the building one was always rooted to the earth, but flying was a totally different story.
He regarded the other delegates as they passed, realising that he was totally underdressed for the occasion, he also realised now, that he may be have to ask for a small favour from the WTE.

Mocata and his staff moved onto the platform. Teo was frightened, he could sense his fear no matter where he moved in the complex. "The natural xenophobia", Mocata thought to himself.

He instantly contacted all members of his delegation silently through his mental power. "Fellow representatives of Zethkur, The Cairn-Tarran delegation is slowly coming out of it's shell. Perhaps it is somewhat apt that as we awaken from our sleep, they are also awakening, in a different sense. We must ensure that they do not allow their fear of others to ruin their hopes for this conference. "

Mocata ended the telepathy, then sent a message to Teo, inviting him to join Mocata and the other Zethkurian delgates whenever he was free. Mocata also made a note to himself to find the representatives of The Vortex Corporation. They would doubtless be here.
08-12-2003, 13:06
After the small adress from the FTR host, Nejra looked around at the other representatives of the various member nations. His delegation was already wondering off to greet old friends in the other parties, before stepping onto their designated platform. He saw one of his scientists, the designer of the Stormcaller, head over to the Tarran delegation for some small talk, while others shortly greeted people in the delegations from Pilon, Eniqcir and Zethkur, either with a wave or some verbal form of greetings. Contact with those nations had been scarce, yet the scientific community always remained in a state of constant communications concerning new findings and studies, regardless of the political situation.

Looking at the Zethkur party, Nejra recognized Mocata. A long time ago, before his promotions and the start of his political career, he had been the CEO of the Psionic Rig project, and had spoken to Mocata twice during inspection rounds. He still remembered those two conversations, and with a sign of his hand, he formally greeted Damien, as he noticed that Mocata also looked at him, while his platform glided away.

Minutes later, as one of the last few delegations, the Corporate representatives stepped onto the platform. Being used to hoverdyne and Zephrim technology being used in almost every aspect of Corporate life, these platforms were hardly strange to them, and as it swiftly carried them into the building, the delegates simply enjoyed the view.

from the moment brain started to ascend on mex's hover platform, he and mex were discussing exactly what the DLM position on this issue would be, and they were working on why the WTE may have ended up this way in the first place. they were just starting to reach the upper most levels of the complex when Iskavengard began his address. this was a political snafu to be sure thought brain but he dismissed it due to his perceived urgentness of the situation. he and mex spent the next 2 hours going over the conference until finally they felt they had a plan, something that greatly relieved the both of them.

"well, i suppose that's it then huh" sahed brain

"yep" replied mex

there was a brief pause

" i suppose we have an hour before the conference starts, i'm going to head around and go visit the other delegations, specificaly i want to see if i can find the cairn tarra delegation as well as the delegations from TVC and Zethkur"

"any particular reasons why?"

" well the latter 2 simply because we have not had formal contact with them in a very long time, and i wanted to talk to the tarran delegation too see how the effector project turned out, in their own words"

"i see"

"care to join me, you know your way around here better than i do"

"cartianly chairman"

teo eventually made his way to what he assumed was ‘his’ platform, he steeped cautiously testing it with his feet to see if it would hold his weight, he steeped gingerly on to it and it lifted into the air. and zipped off towards his quarters... Teo immediately collapsed onto his knees and held on to the edges of the device for dear life. when the disk finally reached his quarters, he gingerly stood up and dusted his coat down, smiling sweetly for any observers, he then steeped down the short corridor into his room...
..
he stayed in there not more then 5 minutes, of this 2:30 seconds was spent eating the complementary food, and reading the craft world project fact sheet, and another 2:30 seconds was spent reading the craft world data sheet and formulating a plan. After that he found the message from Zethkur and nervously made his way out of the room again...
..
..
..
outside of Mocata’s quarters a small transport pad arrived with the crumpled form of Teo gripping on for dear life... once again he stood up and smiled at the guards while dusting himself off.

“emm, im here on invitation from Emperor Mocata.. if thats ok..”

The guards informed Mocata of the presence of Teo at his door, and Mocata confirmed Teo's identity by viewing him through the eyes of his guards before reading his mind personally. At the speed of thought, almost as if it had been orchestrated, the doors slid open and the guards stepped back to allow Teo to enter into Mocata's chamber.

Inside the well decorated suite, Mocata had moved objects around, to increase the operating efficency of himself and his fellow delegates, yet the place remained pleasing to the eye. It was spartan but sensible. As Teo looked around, he noticed out of the corner of his eye that there were canisters of some sort that were wired into what appeared to be some dispenser machine, before Mocata approached him, hand outstretched.

"It's good to see you again Teo. I noticed that you're nervous about everything that goes on here. Try to relax. If there were any overt hostile intentions in this place, we'd have picked up on them by now. However, if you want, we can conduct our conversation telepathically if you would prefer the extra security. "

"nonsense, here is the last place i need to be concerned about security.
im not so much nervous about the setting, im just not sure of the procedure, this whole thing is big, there must be 15, perhaps 20 nations in the WTE, so much protocol and bureaucracy... and those bl*ddy flying panels scare the he*l out of me
and it was called so suddenly,. i don't even have any thesis to present. just a few ideas"

he looked somewhat more uneasy suddenly

"and theres some other... business i have to discuss with the WTE,"

teo took a seat on one of the minimal chairs spread in the room, and after a few seconds picks up a new conversation thread.

"i see Chairman brain is in attendence as well, i would like to see him again, DLM helped us complete the design for the computers in the Triumvirate, very.... not what i had in mind, but then im not a systems designer... well not computer systems.... did you see the Stormcaller?"

Ben Richards walked about alone. He was the only Pilonese citizen even close to this island. It was unnerving. He took comfort in the recent laws passed allowing natural Pilonese attire on foreign soil, (Pilon is compulsory nude) he hated clothing and had always dreaded wearing it when he went to visit other countries, this was no longer an issue. As he walked about he felt a slight homesickness, it was the beginnings of the longing, but he knew he would be back with his brethren soon, then all would be good.
He left in search of the Tarran Delegation, of all Sisguardian Nations they were diplomatically closest to Pilon and he would feel more comfortable around them.

"Yes, procedure and protocol. Two things that are guaranteed to slow up everything. Whenever the hard work starts, we'll find out just how much they slow up everything. " Said Mocata, sitting down opposite Teo. "A Thesis is nothing more than a completed idea. A famous scientist once said 'Imagination is far more important than knowledge. ' Besides, your ideas alone revolutionised your society. "

Mocata sat in silence for a few seconds, then replied "Ah yes, Chairman Brain. You'll have to forgive me, but the long period of domancy is still being shaken off somewhat. Tell me, what has happened within Sisgardia and the world while we've been asleep? Perhaps we should invite some more delegates here to catch up. "

ooc: I assume you sent the message through telepathy

Minutes later, a low humming sound of a platform coming to a stop before the doors of the suite could be heard. After some mumbling sounds outside, probably conversation between TVC and Zethkur personnel, the doors opened and Nejra Paktu entered the room. He seemed to be quite happy, pleasured to see old friends and allies again, and to be on such a beautiful island on top of that.

Both Chairman Brain and the other persons present received a warm handshake and some kind words, after which he sat down in one of the seats standing in the room. Even though he still thought that telepathy and related activities were somewhat strange and above his comprehension, he felt completely comfortable, knowing that he was among likeminded individuals.

Especially those with which we Zethkurians have had the strongest relations. Tell me friends, what has happened since we last met as representatives of our nations?"
09-12-2003, 20:29
"My God, where to begin? As for internal affairs, the most important Corporate happenings were the colonies that we have established in the Kharak system and the two shipyards that we now own. We've become members of SATO and CENNA, we've founded the Corporate Coalition, we integrated with Tarasovka more tightly than most other nations ever will, it's too much to sum up. But summarizing, I can say that business are good. We have only one direct enemy, and our influence and wellbeing increases by the day. We even had the chance to engage in a major restructuring of our space fleets, giving us a very high tech orbital military."

Nejra paused for a moment, then looked Mocata in the eye and continued.

"Well, I think things are not the same as they used to be any more. But one thing has remained the same: we are still proud to call us allies of the nations in the SFN. Tell me, emperor, how have you and yours fared for in the years that have passed?"

((OOC: - Damnit, you'll be able to tell I'm rusty with this post. ))

Mocata waved his hand "Don't worry about the title. Mocata alone is fine. We are all equals here. All representatives of our homelands.

As for Zethkur, well, we've advanced our cloning facilities to the stage where perfect replication is possible, as is engineering anything we wish. We can also replicate the minds as required, using our psionic technology, therefore offering a limited immortality. The one catch is that you have to wait for the physical body to grow. The procedure is not heavily in demand yet, mainly because despite all efforts, the cost remains phenominal.

However, we've made a few studies of other areas. It appears we have something that may revolutionise our concepts of space and time completely, but for the moment, it's purely experimental and with no firm evidence for conclusive proof. Thus I wont let the cat out of the bag yet, because it could end up being nothing more than an expensive waste of funding.

Regarding internal matters, our taxes have quite regrettably shot up immensely. The government is deluged with a load of non-sensical issues that do nothing but eat taxpayers money. With the money that isn't wasted though, we've managed to improve the already high quality of life for all the people of Zethkur. Our Automobile Manufacturing plants should begin mass production of our new Hoverdrive Cars for sale on the economic market within this week.

We could do with increasing the efficency of our space fleet though. Current plans to upgrade the Kirov design and adapt it for space flight are proving laborious. Our floating disc division is only sufficent for orbital defense, in addition to it's duties within our atmosphere.

So tell me, who is the main enemy these days? "

After the quick flight from North-West Antarctica and the usual fanfare of arrival, Spike hurried into the meeting room, and onto his hover platform, aware of his tardiness.

"Hi everyone, sorry I'm late. There was a... pressing domestic matter I had to attend to. All I can say is that the penguins are safe now. I hope I didn't miss much."

High Edict Spike Spiegal LXXIII, as most of his predecessors, had never been one for formalties. He looked around the room, recognizing colleagues, leaders, and representatives of other nations.

Sounds good to me
10-12-2003, 10:19
"The main enemy...well, with TVC entering SATO, that immediately seemed to get us on the black list of a lot of countries, basicly that of every other alliance existing. But to tell you the truth, it looks like the hate is directed purely at the more established members of SATO, such as Menelmacar and Knootoss. But there are others. First of all, there is a nation named Thelas. They are nothing but lapdogs to Menelmacar, but they tend to interfere in issues that are...private. Only days ago they positioned a fleet above Sisgardia, witht he intention to interfere in happenings in Diablo_NL, without permission. Fortunately, they left.

As for ourselves, we also count the nation called Valinon as a hostile state. Twice now, they have almost caused a war. The first time, Tarasovka and The Vortex Corporation had negotiated a peace in the war between GDODAD and some SATO nations. Valinon refused to remove their war vessels from the area, kept monitoring our operations, and even tried to establish a base on SATO ground, even though the treaty stated all foreign intervention was forbidden to keep the peace.

The second time, they sent a whole naval battlegroup to the continent of Skargarden, where SATO was holding military exercises. They had no permission to enter those waters, and in the end Tarasovka had to scare them away.

But there is also good news. Sisgardia as a region and the SFN as an organization have no direct enemies out to get us as a whole. And that is something we can be grateful for."

Teo glanced between the two dignitaries, the names of the various organisations flew right over his head, as did most political matters, however, for a little amusement he was trying to guess the genetic traits of a ‘child’ born of the two officials, this was a game he played often, and sometimes provided unusual results,
he didn't really understand the whole telepathy thing, so he couldn't factor that into his ‘educated guess’

his mind briefly flitted back to the problem at hand, and the little mind game stopped dead,

"Ah, the GDODAD is still active and causing problems then. " Mocata said. "I had thought that with the collapse of their underwater base of operations, they would splinter up into various factions. Still, if they can survive such catastrophies, there is strength within their union yet.

As for the Thelas issue, the knife is worse when slid into your back by a supposed ally rather than being thrust into your chest by an obvious enemy. I trust the external Psionic rig to guard Sisgardia remains functioning at optimum efficency. After all, you say Sisgardia has no direct enemies, but in my viewpoint, an enemy of any Sisgardian Nation is an enemy of Sisgardia itself.

I know nothing of this Valinon though, save what you tell me. Perhaps we should arrange for a few mind scans the next time they interfere, and see if we can discover what is on their minds. "

Mocata turned around to Teo "Something on your mind? "

Teo Sighed

For the moment I must just say that here is some trouble back home.. politics I’m afraid, The High council, what we call the third wittan is made up of seven members one drawn form each of the lower councils, I used to speak on the high council for the learned council of sciences, but I left to finish the fleet at DLM, and thus my position was passed another member of the lower council, but that isn’t really important…
The tarran people, are… cautious, to the point of xenophobia after Lorillian burnt our cities in Norn Iron, the council is old, its members lived through the schism, and grew up aboard the vessels bound for sisguardia, I was there aswell, it wasn’t pleasant. But three in particular are xenophobic to the point of bigotry, Ebrihon Silver, is in charge of logistics, he is a simple xenophobe, nothing more, Adious Morainne, he speaks on internal affairs, publicly he speaks of honor, and repaying our debt to Sisgardia, but he is old, and set in his ways, he expects to see a second schism form one of the sisgardian nations. The worst is Albrecht Earthson, he speaks for external relations, which I think is comically ironic, he is a bigot, a racist, but worse, he is a clever racist, he has, in closed sessions of the council declared himself as the ‘Speaker’ of the council. Such a rank never existed in the old times, he dominates every meeting and with the help of the other two, tends to argue the points so much that issues are either dropped, or they get there own, xenophobic ways passed into law. They do this by convincing Annis, he is the speaker for administration, he goes where the power lies, 3 + 1 = 4, and a majority, Torus Eathman has his hands tied because he is the speaker for the majority and cant risk going agents the wishes of his lower council, his lower council are all, like, I am sorry to say, victims of the propaganda that the xenophobes preach in the public sessions.
The council ofr sciences is the only one which has a non biased view of the nations of Sisgardia

But I ramble, suffices to say, the council isn’t a huge fan of mine, and after my actions over the last few months, they are probably going to have me arrested as soon as I step on tarran soil again. and the people think the nations of sisguardia are a bunch of war mongering techno-barbarians

OOC: Party at Mocata's place!

Brain and Ambassador Mex had just left Mex's office and began to look for the other delegations when Brain felt something he hadn't felt in a long time. it was a twinge at the back of his mind, and then something was there that wasn't quite there before. he stopped for a second, slightly surprised at this development.

"Sir?" asked Mex "Is something wrong?"

"No... But you wouldn't happen to know where the Zethkur delegation is staying, would you?" replied Brain

"yes, they're on this floor, other side of the building...But, why?"

"Oh, nothing, call it a hunch"

several minutes later, the pair arrived at the suite where emperor Mocata was staying. Brain introduced himself and Ambassador Mex to the guards, and when the door finally opened, stepped in.

Brain quickly scanned the room and address each of the delegates in turn

"Emperor Mocata, I thank you for the invitation to join you, it has indeed been too long since we have last talked. Mr Paktu, it is a pleasure to see The Vortex Corp. take an active role in international politics once again. and Mr. Holtzman-Wizewood, it is a pleasure to see you again, i assume it was you who arrived in the Stormcaller?

" Taking Mex's hand and shaking it. "I hope that you are happy and proud to represent such a glorious nation. I trust that the Dominion of The Lab Mouse continues to dominate the computer industry world wide. I will reply to what Teo was saying just before you both entered before I wax lyrical about the good old days. "

Mocata's face grew slightly sterner. "Teo, much as I know your Nation and it's history, I can't believe that your council would stage a coup of sorts and have you arrested the minute you stepped back onto Tarran soil. Suffice to say that if they did, I would take great umbrage at the situation. You are quite possibly the best thing that's happened to your nation in it's most recent history. I wonder if your council and people can be pursuaded of the error of their ways somehow. "

Mocata sat back down in his seat, after levitating another couple over for Chairman Brain and Ambassador Mex, and sat silently for a moment. Anyone who could read his mood could probably tell he was somewhat concerned about this development.

"Have the delegates been sent to their private offices?" Asked Siadir to Zayler, in the main waitroom of her offices.

The man's bearded head noded "Yes, lady Oberthosenn. Asides from a few innasistances, most of the nations have sent their representatives, which are now in their respective hqs. Is there anything else I should do before announcing the meeting?"

Siadir glanced at the man through the mirror she was standing before to "No, thank you, Zayler. The delegates should be performing meetings and preparing their speeches and proposals. Better to leave them meanwhile" She finished combing her long silver-white hair and preparing her official vestures, composed of a long robe with long sleeves that reached the floor, covered in paterns of gold lines forming complex sets of runes "The meeting will begin in a bit more than an hour. Please inform Karloff to be ready as soon as possible, and to meet me at the Assembly Hall in twenty minutes"

"As you wish, my lady" Said the man, while leaning his head forward and departing through the door.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bright moonlight ilumanted the great Hall of the Supreme Assembly through the gigantic windows that composed the piramidal roof. Around, the eternal lights of Sisgardia's hyper-urbanized nations formed a circular horizon of luminosity, surrounding the calm Sea of Aerona.
The great hall had one main platform in the center, which grew higher than all the others, almost fifty meters from the hall's base. Around, numerous platforms grew from the sides towards the center, held in teh air by huge mechanical arms, that allowed the platforms to move freely in the area designated for each one. A carpet of titanical size covered the almost one hundred meters wide hall, completely made from synthetical fibers surrounded by nanomechanical cords, but giving a quite natural look. The carpet itself was able to change it's patterns, colors and even luminosity, depending on the ocasion. Right now it was translucent, awaiting to be activated.
Coordinators moved in small hoovering platforms all over the hall, signaling guard posts for the SFN soldiers, checking possible, yet improbable, security leaks. Four other platforms, bigger, moved before the great vertical flags that held the new symbol for the Entity, designed by federal iconophilias:

http://www5.domaindlx.com/Sisgardia/WTE_Icon.gif

During the meeting, however, it would be seen if the new flag was of the member's like or not.

Siadir Oberthosenn and Karloff Allamand came walking inside the great hall. The still dormant mechanical platforms around the hall grew impossing over them, granting a quite strange look to the hall, although not less impressive.

"It seems that you have arranged everything well, Siadir. I am sure this meeting will be a success" Noted Allamand, while one of the holographic projectors that would be used later during the meeting. He rose his head and stared at the hanging flags "That is the new flag? Interesting"

Siadir was meanwhile checking her infopad "We seem to have missing delegations. And we required them with urgency"

Allamand looked at her "The new agenda will take care of them, if passed. Belive me, after this meeting, a good bucket of strict rules will fall over the organism, something that it certainly requires"

Siadir sighed, and closed the pad "Yes, yes, I know. Thank you for the support, Karloff. Now, is your speech ready?"

Allamand noded "Indeed it is. I will open the meeting as planned, and then you will come with the agenda. Try to calm a bit now, or you will become a ball of nerves once this begins"

Teo bowed deeply and looked almost embraced. there is a vain of guilt on the surface of his mind,

Sir! you do me too much honour.... But i have committed a crime agent my people, i conspired with other lower members of the science councils, i abused my power in high council to forward the outfitting of the Triumvirate, i developed the three AI’s for the system with ought the conceit of the council,
and, best of all, while the council were in orbit, arresting my cohort, Isthus Treeson, i forged a signal to the WTE with the councils signature... our postulation

he pauses, obyously in shame, his mind is a flurry of laws and ethics.

so you see... i am a guilty man. we scientists, focus on the creation, the consequence, we usually ignore, until its too late.

A quick flash of anger was apparent on Mocata's face, which vanished almost as soon as it was notable. "You cannot accuse yourself of committing crimes against your people when your council seems quite set to continually commit them. It is not an abuse of power to help the people of Tarra and ensure their prosperity and security. It's your task as a member of their council. "

There was a moment of uncomfortable silence, before Mocata resumed. "I'm quite in a mood to tell that old dog Morainne that if he thinks I went to all the trouble to help Tarra survive so I could knock it down myself that he's free to return to Norn Iron if he so wishes. The only problem with that is that he'd take the nation with him, and thus endanger the lives of all Tarra's people.

No, we have to lead by example. I believe that after the WTE conference, I shall take a formal visit to Cairn-Tarra. Allow the people to see and decide for themselves. As well as reminding the Council of it's obligations to it's people. Teo, if you believe that the current Tarran Council would wish you dead or imprisoned, you may claim political asylum in Zethkur for as long as you wish. "

Mex, who had never dealt with any of psychic ability before, much less someone with the extraordinary abilities of Emperor Mocata, was quite shocked at the sight of chairs floating towards him, Brain on the other hand was taking this all in stride.

as teo began his story, a look of concern crossed his face. sitting before him was a man that should by all rights be considered a hero for the efforts he had been making for the betterment of his people, but instead, his own government was sure to brand him a traitor. brain knew that the tarran people were xenophobic, but he had never expected to such a degree.

brain began to ponder what to best say, when Mocata spoke next. when the emperor had finished, brain nodded in approval and spoke up

"indeed. political pressure is probably the best course of action to take here. the Tarran people have had every right to be wary considering what you have gone through, but this seems to go well past all reason. it may be a good idea to have several leaders make trips to Cairn Tarra, simply to drive home our point." with this Brain turned to Teo "you have done our nation a great service with the work you did in our labs, and we remember those who served our nation, be they Dominion citizens or not. should you need any help, do not hesitate to ask for our aid"

Teo looked confused he temporarily fixed his eyes on the far wall, his thoughts swam, consequences, possible outcomes, dangers, benefits, he takes a breath.

“the outcomes of such a visit, would be.... unpredictable. Perhaps you should voice your intentions to make a formal visit to the council in writing. There response would... it would force Albrecht’s hand, and it would make Morainne nervous.”

he looks at the ground, and back up to the three dignitaries, he looks old now, 100 years work done in 53 years told heavily on his eyes, but the humour shown through again.

“but i have always wanted to show off Yagdrassil to some other nations, we don't get that many visitors.”

Like the others, Nejra had been listening to the story of Teo in surprise and growing anger. While the conversation proceeded, he remembered his cousin, Koran Manaan. Immediately after doing so, a smile came over his face. Koran had been born a Paktu, the Kiith known for its scientific way of life. However, Koran had been different. He had the same lust for science that most of the Paktu had, but there had been one bg obstacle to his career: being married to a Manaani woman. Normally that would not have been a problem, but this particular woman was the daughter of a Manaani entrepreneur that managed to take over the third-largest conglomerate in Paktu posession in a spectacular display of managing skills.

To avoid this fact from blocking his advancement in the scientific world, Koran swore of his Paktu allegiance, and took up the Manaani colors. When the ritual markings of the Paktu on his body were removed, Nejra had been present. The process was not very comfortable, at the very least...

But it did pay off. Not only was his marriage incredibly solid, but Koran also made head engineer of the Sajuuk shipyards. And there he had met the CairnTarrans, on a project that would make their ships...awesome...
When Nejra spoke with him during those days, Koran always mentioned the intelligence and commitment of the Tarrans...their infinite taste for more and higher knowledge...their refusal to give up.

Nejra leaned forward a bit, and looked Teo in the eyes. "As DLM, the Vortex Corporation has also had experiences with the shipbuilding projects for CairnTarra. We share the opinion of the other gentlemen here: you have done nothing wrong. If ever the Corporation can do anything to help you, be that finance, data or sanctuary, we will not hesitate to give it."

a slight smile crossed his face.

“fancy a party at my giant tree?”

bits and pieces started to slat together in his mind, a whole lot would depend on the other nations pulling out a good speech, some other plans started to evolve. circling round the first one, like a little solar system... Teo mouthed....

Mocata looked up at the new entrant. Scanning his mind in a flash, he could sense his discontent and mild fear, and said to him "Ah, you're from Pilon, a new nation in Sisgardia in my mind, and you're looking for the Tarran delgation. Well, all one of them is here with us. " as Mocata walked over to Teo and laid a hand upon his shoulder.

Mocata looked at Teo and smiled "Yes, I think we could all use a party at your tree. In fact, we can organise a visit of our own, and then even invite the council to see the rest of Sisgardia. Of course, with the 'leaking' of such intentions to the general press, the xenophobic ones will be hard pressed to refuse such invitations. I think I speak for all the assembled company when I say that we shall support you. " Interesting times are as much a blessing as a curse, Mocata thought to himself. "Anyway, I think you should talk with our fellow delegate from Pilon here. "

Mocata offered his seat beside Teo to the Pilonese delegate, and walked over beside the DLM delegates. "So, Chairman Brain, how has life in DLM been during Zethkur's absence from the Sisgardian stage? "

Aww, what a downer... I wish I had something to do...

Spike left the area and started to wonder around the WTE headquarters building. He found most of the delegations' rooms were empty, but eventually he came to the Zethkur delegation area. He introduced himself to the other delegations present and waited for a response.

When Nejra saw Spike entering he looked at him very carefully. Even though many policitians from the various Kiithid often used NWA as an example of how-it-should-be, he himself had never met a person from that nation before. Naturally, he did see trade delegations and some migrants hailing from that nation, but he never had an actual conversation with them.

Suddenly realizing how strange it was that a Chairman of Foreign Affairs never had any contact with an NWA representative, Nejra was flabbergasted for a few seconds, just looking at Spike

Mocata looked up as the NWA representative entered the room. This was another new face. Performing a quick scan of the delegate's mind, only deep enough to find out who this new face was, he then spoke. "Ah, Mr Spike, from North West Antarctica. I don't believe I've had the pleasure of your company before. Please allow me to introduce myself. " Walking forward with his arm outstretched, hand open. "I am Damien Mocata, Emperor of Zethkur. Mocata noticed Nerja's raised eyebrow, but did nothing, not even scan Nerja's mind. The whole situation seemed to be becoming slightly boring for most a few participants here. Something was needed to change this. Something a bit more unpredictable.

Anyone watching Mocata would notice his head jerk slightly as he recieved a telepathic transmission. There was a slight look of joy on his face as he listened to the message, however, anyone fast enough to read the screen on his desk before he turned it off by telekinesis could also read the transmission. As any good Corporate employee would, Nejra read the message on the screen while faking discretion. A skill thought by many conglomerates, but it would probably be useful to try and fool Damien. However, since discreation was still the better part of valour, he could at leat make the others think he was not interested. But his thoughts immediately examined what he had seen.

Chronosheres...must have something to do with time...TIME TRAVEL?...that would make life in Sisgardia interesting at the very least...but chaos theory makes it too risky...did they find a way?....we can't send spies to Zethkur....would be useless and not fitting for an ally...but we need to know!...well...he will tell us when he finds an adequate moment in time

Stopping his speculations, Nejra instead turned to watch the upcoming game of chess.

There are a few things which we can reveal. And we may yet learn much from the others.
But Outsider technology has always been notoriously difficult to integrate.
Perhaps. But I am living proof that it can be done.
When will the official meeting begin?
Half an hour hence.
Perhaps we should introduce ourselves to the others first.

Quite suddenly, Aidean rose to his feet, slipped a retainer into his mouth with a thin cable leading out and around his neck, donned a dark visor, and summarily enrobed himself in all of the other usual protections against photocontact. Raising the lights, the pair exited, and began searching for the others. Upon finding the correct room, Chameleon entered in the form of Diplomat Sabolom, a man with Irish features but darker skin than would be expected, the black-clad Aidean following.

Executing a low bow, Chameleon spoke first. "Allow us to introduce ourselves. DHX Chameleon and Prince Master Aidean, of the Eniqciri Empire. At the risk of sounding corny, would you like a game of chess, Dr. Hawking?"

Lights went dim on the main rooms of the different offices designated to each delegation. From small openings in the roof and walls, wide beams of blue, green and red colors moved in different patterns, until stopping, creating a combined beam, which then gave shape to a human, long-bearded figure of real size, standing in the center of the room. The colors were vivid enough, making the image almost solid, almost alive.

The figure bowed, and Zayler began speaking "Noble ambassadors and representatives, under the formal invitation of Lady Siadir Oberthosenn, I ask you to please proceed to the Assembly Hall, where the Opening Ceremony will take place, conducted by Lord Karloff Allamand. Information on the Meeting's Program has been uploaded to the infopads you can find on your respective offices. Pleas,e do not hessitate to take one with you, as it will become of grand help during the Meeting. Thank you for your time"

He made a deep bow, and the image dissipated as soon as the lights of the rooms returned to their normal state.

Desty walked towards the Assembly Hall, still munching pudding, and seemingly enjoying it.

Then he waited for the speech, seemingly intrigued as to what the Technocratic Republics, one of the few nations that were openly... admired by DA had to say in their inauguration speech...

Well, it would certainly be interesting, and with that thought, he continued eating, still wearing his (slightly dirty) labcoat.

Nejra comfortably strolled towards his assigned seat. FTR was one of the nations he always loved visiting. Everything was always arranged for...it seemed as if the populace of the nation did simply not allow for any mistakes. An attitude he could very much appreciate.

And of course, he had tremendous respect for their nation being the founder of both the WTE and the SFN...

Brain noticed that his datapad had flashed to life and now held the updates schedule for the conference. he looked down and quickly scanned the agenda for anything that would be a must see and anything that could be skipped.
the schedule was tight, clean and impressive while still allowing the delegates time to relax and not be over burdened. something very fitting for the FTR.
Brain always had always liked that trait about the federation. they were to the point enough that it was very easy to do business with out having to mix words unnecessarily, but not so much so that they lost they went off the deep end and made communications cold and robotic.

The listing about the craft-world project caught Brain's eye as he finished scanning the list. that was the other thing he has always admired the FTR for, their ability to think big. this project was originally conceptualizes as a plan that could only be completed as a multinational venture, something that very few people would have done, much less governments.

Brain looked up and noticed that Teo was sightly confused

"i suppose i couldent follow one of you to the main hall... i feer i would get toally lost." asked Teo

"Not at all Mr. Wizewood. This way please" replied Brain as he and Ambassador Mex walked out of the room

Teo followed Chairman Brain out of the room, he already missed his home, but he knew it may be several years until he got a chance to return. He glanced at his datapad. and mumbled as he followed the party

'wine of honour'
wine of honour?. How can a wine be honourable?
... ahh.. must have been made by a person of great honour.
i wonder dose it taste any better then normal wine.....

Chameleon read through the agenda, mentally checking things off. "Wine, dance, opera, parade... we can safely miss those. Ooh, biotech. Wonder what they'll think of me in that respect... Well, I suppose we should be there for this 'inauguration' thingy. Come along."

And Aidean and Cham made their way to the Hall.

Having sat down without seeing anything happening any time soon, Nejra started to look around. Looking at the grandeur of the hall he was in, he suddenly started pondering about TVC policy. It had always been a Corporate dogma not to get involved with nations that were either highly more powerful than them, or extremely less powerful. This ensured that all TVC allies were those nations that could level with them, creating alliances in which neither nation was too dominant.

But now, looking at the FTR architecture and technology, he was immensely glad that the Corporation had joined the SFN and WTE long ago. It had brought them from a medium sized corporation, to one of the worlds' largest and most wealthy ventures. Truly, larger nations in Sisgardia had proven not to be a potential threat, but mentors and tutors.

Nodding to a passing collegue from another WTE nation, Nejra felt very comfortable with the current TVC political position...one that he had helped creating.

Teo entered the mammoth room following chairman brain, the scope of everything in this place filled him with awe, the sheer opulence, and diversity shown in the decor, it was a completely different society, or in this case, collection of societies. he wished more of the Tarran people could see these wonders, they wouldn't be so quick to brand the Sisguardians as destroyers, if they would take a moment to contemplate what they had created...
a thought struck him, he removed a small egg shaped device from his pocket and spoke into it.

"message: stormcaller. ‘Morrigan, release the shipsmen form the interface and instruct them to visit the headquarters for some R+R three days is available for this, thanks’ end message, compile and se... hold.... compile, encrypt and .... no no... dont encrypt just send the message"

a little pulse of em energy ripples through the building, not enough to cause any damage, but enough to carry a message for a few kilometres.

Desty Nova poked Brain. "Btw... regarding Tarasovka... there seems to be a lot of internal strife there, with the rebellous provinces, and it looks like a full blown war is about to begin... Your opinion?" He chuckles. "I know, it is a bit... rough, and not what this should be about, but with Tarasovka being a Sisgardian nation and a WTE member..."

The
Stormcaller lifted itself a few feet clear of the landing pad and sped west towards Yagdrassil, missing the roof of the facility by a matter of microns.
