Kaenei

Without a moment to stop, or gather a rest from the relentless downpour, rain once more fell apon the streets, buildings and structures of Solarii. The patter drowning out the low thrums of gravitic engines, the muffled voices of the few citizens out and attending to tasks or pleasures. The green of bushes, plants and trees swayed slightly as the heaving winds blew lazily through slim and obstructing passages. An occasional howl as the architecture of the city sought to sing a song of lament using nature as an instrument.
Yet still Administration One broke through even the highest structures, casting a shadow over those that stymied around the enormous emplacement. The sleek, reflective skin of the central tower guiding the torrents of rainwater downards. The gentle blue glow cast down from the tower beacon visible through the shower for many miles around. She clawed at the heavens herself, so those at her heightened top might cross from the world and into the next.
Caelistis sighed. A long, drawn out sound that rushed from his rapidly deflating lungs. He shuddered slightly as the heat from the thermal regulators warmed his skin. Overhead his shadow tilted slowly as the one activated light swung lazily. Closing his eyes, he sank back into a chair. Wishing that for all of that moment it might swallow him whole, and take him from this place and burden. A crack brought him back to reality, a low thunderous sound that permeated the outside air. Seconds later the First squinted as a flash lit the storm laden sky. Like a series of naturally occuring pyrotechnics lightning danced from cloud to cloud, a heavy, forboding waltz that wound its way towards completion.
A gentle, two-tone bleep sounded, a welcome distraction from the brooding carcophony of noise that committed itself outside. Extending an arm slowly, as if testing it, Caelistis flicked an idle control set into the arm of the chair. With a swish of changing air temperatures, the entrance to the office parted slowly.
Killthanus breezed inside, his face a mixture of a calm serenity and hidden excitement. Caelistis found himself foolishly lifted, as though the presence of his intelligence minister and friend had a rapid effect on his personality and feeling. Willing himself to his feet, he regarded his new arrival with a return smile, retreating behind his desk.
"T^Ralliel' has begun early." noted the young minister, coming to a halt.
The First looked at the feirce storm that had yet to fully rage beyond the massive observation window that protected the pair and nodded. "She has begun early. It is unusual."
Seizing the moment, Killthanus pressed on, "We have an interesting development."
"Why do I always feel so hesitant when you deliver news such as this? Inevitably your youthful excitement gets the best of your faculties..."
Killthanus managed a smile, and threw a dataslate to the desk surface, flopping downards into a visitor's chair and throwing one leg over the other. He watched as Caelistis perused the information. Nodding as he passed through each paragraph. Killthanus rolled his head as the minutes streched by, and his boredom grew. Outside T^Ralliel screamed its presence, sending flashes through the sky and downpours against glass. After what had seemed like an eternity, the First placed the slate down.
"I did not expect it so quickly. However, I am pleased."
Killthanus nodded, "We have begun the Feriantos^Norlean', or as is its terran equivelent, a second renaissance. Now we move into the fifth age. The second time of knowledge. The trium exists to further understanding, to harbour a new period of peace, prosperity and unity. We share these goals, and we will see them through. No doubt some will denounce us, we shall be labelled in ways only those who do not understand can think of, some will view us as traitors, others as fools. But we will bare no ill will. We have truly no enemies bar those that harm us with deeds, and not words. In how many thousands of years have Kaeneians marched to war? But one, and truly was it as we had feared. Information, technology and knowledge have we zealously guarded and researched for hundreds of years. Though the age of Solarii ends, and barely a whisper or flicker of memory of a time when Kaenei was not of Terra remains, we must endure. This will allow us to, and not only remain but develop, and blossom into something that is beyond the sum of our parts."
"Solemn words my friend." Began Caelistis, "You would bring fire to a snow laden mountain with what you speak. I agree, our membership of the Trium is a commitment, it is more than the name of Kaenei adorning a constitution, it is a fundemental change of life. For the first time, our borders will open. Our technology will be donated to those whom we align ourselves with. Our own will venture forth. We shall learn of the race of Elves, of the Menelmacari empire, of the federated Scolopendra, the Dread Dominion and many more....Now is our greatest time. Prepare an official statement, We shall make the announcement."
The pair talked long into the evening. Throughout datanets and transmission lines the word was sent. The Fourth age of Kaenei was at an end, with the coming of the twelve hundreth great T^Ralliel, the second renaissance of the second time of knowledge would begin, and it would begin with Kaenei as members of the Triumvirate Of Yut.
