Yes its the return of the Quippothian Warbeast Challenge! Last Seasons match was a bang up success with the masses and now they're crying for more blood! Sign up now to participate in the warbeast challenge. Pit a squad up 8 soldiers against the fierce Quippothian warbeasts for fame, glory, slaves, and money! The single winner come away with a cool million achos to spend personally.

*Vital Info*
First off, I will have no super soldiers Last time I did not make this clear and ended up with the other players refusing to take any damage whatsoever, if you enter expect some of your people may die, it depends on the whims of the Quippothian people, a bad performance in previous rounds means a hellish second round.

Second, this is near future tech, I don't want archers, swordsmen, and fireballs nor do I want war machines firing accelerated plasma in impenetrable armor.

There will only be openings for 5 squads of 8 infantry men each, this means no tanks, no outside help, you keep what you come in with and can get ammunition and medical attention between rounds.

You must know the warbeasts, I will not name them nor will I explain them to you in battle (though you will get a description eg. The spindly armed creatures lunges at you), the information is right here and you can tell which one they are by simple description.

Finally, there will be votes by those reading the thread on which group they think is doing best, getting unfavorable votes mean worse and worse challenges while favorable votes mean challenges suited to their capabilities.

Good luck people, you may sign up below, remember, to include your squads: Name and equipment.

Special Information About War beast:
First off, I have no human soldiers; I use war beasts, which are basically animals, created for the Quippothian military to use as soldiers. As they are animals we can't assert direct control over them. However, there are special measures the Quippothian military has taken. First of all they are bred to be naturally docile, this is to facilitate easy movement and prevent them from turning on their leaders. Each war beast has a small machine in their brains which stimulated the release of hormones by remote control with this we are able to control their aggressiveness. When they are to be used in battle the carriers get clear and then the beasts are pumped full of aggression hormones essentially making them go berserk, it’s the proverbial red cape in front of the bull. Through extensive use of pain, they are trained to attack others of their own species, we've yet to train them not to attack other breeds of war beast however so we have to keep them separate most of the time. The massive influx of aggression hormones causes a rapid breakdown of the nervous system, which often kills them within the aforementioned Hormone Stability Duration. After this period the war beast drop into a torpor and die. While this may seem like a disadvantage at first, its actually an advantage which allows us to prevent permanent war beast habitation of conquered territory, with new technology in Quippothian flesh vats war beasts can be mass produced by the thousand every day, this also allows us to surpass the conventional human military in numbers.

War beast Models Gen A-E

War beasts Alpha: Reconnaissance, raid, and ambush.

A-1: Ambush, raid. Previously referred to as Oriax class war beast.
Stand 5 feet tall, weigh 180 pounds, heavily muscled with adaptive skin pigmentation (they can change their skin pattern.) Often move arboreal or just under the loose topsoil, primary ambushers. Duration of Hormonal Stability: 36 hours.
A-1 war beasts resemble hunched five-foot tall humanoids but lack eyes. A thin fluid filled line on running down the spine acts as a lateral line in fish, detecting minute changes in air pressure allowing for incredible reaction time when prone in under the topsoil. Otherwise, they detect targets through a mixture of subsonic sound and scent. Best used upwind of enemy formations that allow them to estimate their time of arrival and lay effective ambushes before the enemy is even within visual range. They attack primarily with their bites that have a mild neurotoxin causing muscular spasms or partial paralysis of the arms or hand. This effect lasts only a 2-3 minutes, by this time however, they will have already finished the ambush. Their large claws are primarily meant for digging or arboreal movement and do not work well as weapons.

A-2: Low altitude reconnaissance.
The size of an average housefly, this war beast unlike others, does not work on hormonal stability. It is a bloodsucking insect that transmits a specially engineered bacterium that releases radioactive emissions. While the radiation is completely harmless the emissions are easily track able by specialized radar and reconnaissance drones allowing for easy spotting of large enemy formations being moved. They are characterized by a bright orange glow like that of hot ash; they are nocturnal so this often gives an enemy a heads up. Once the insect has delivered the bacteria it dies within 24 hours, to prevent misimaging by friendlies or in animals friendlies have a specialized vaccine that the bacteria is engineered to have no resistance too. In the case of animals simple cellular differences prevent the bacteria from being able to reproduce causing them to die quickly.
Special Notes: To facilitate the proper release of A-2 LAR bacteria the vectors are engineered to be attracted to a specific pheromone transmission, this is fired toward a suspected location of enemies and it leaves a lasting pheromone guide for the vectors to follow. If this is not carried out the A-2’s will simply swarm around their release location.

War beasts Beta: Forward Assault and Picket troops.

B-1: Forward Assault, Previously referred to as Moloch class war beasts.
Duration of Hormonal Stability: 24 Hours.
Stands over 6 feet tall with a large, forward hunched body, its two arms extend to a length of four feet and end in a triple digited, clawed hand. Its primary means of attack is with its bite, secondary to this is with claws and finally, trampling. Employed with tremendous effect against rebels in the nyssian crags,
B-1 war beasts the primitive fear of death and of the wild. Used in strike forces of at least 2 dozen, molochs are well known for trampling entire squads of human soldiers while they cower, their tremendous body mass (570 pounds on average) allows them to move with unparalleled speed down steep ridges and into confined valleys with enough inertia to batter a tank to pieces. Their heads are protected with 3-inch thick plates of bone, in its earlier version these bones were common calcium but in the newer versions of the creature these bones have a large amount of iron in the surface giving it a metallic gleam and slightly increasing its durability. Smart commanders will put these war beasts on the attack with the sun in front of them so the reflection of the sun will prevent clear sight of the war beast. With the numbers these are used in, stealth is not an option. In previous tests newer war beasts have been found to take over 200 rounds at ranges of 1000 meters, 100 at ranges of 100, and 25 at ranges of 50, any closer and the bone was easily pierced. Naturally this refers to high caliber weaponry, which makes them perfect for quelling insurrections. Their sheer intimidation fire and the ability to resist the fire from bullets such as 9mms to 12 gauge shotgun shells.

B-2:
Duration of Hormonal Stability: 600 hours. Unlike other war beasts, this new hormone simply keeps the beast from being placid and slow, it does not cause it to attack preemptively unless the enemies have entered their territory set by predetermined pheromone markers.
Picket war beast, once thought to be a contradiction in terms, the new advancement in hormonal control has allowed for greater duration in hormonal stability, in short, the new Vigil war beasts can remain aggressive for the long periods of time it takes to picket a particular area. Vigils resemble 4-foot tall six armed lupine animals. The six arms extend to the front of its body each a different length. The first arms are the shortest and used for grooming and hygiene, essential for a long picket without disease wiping out your picketing troops, the secondary have a pair of killing and holding arms ending with a long 6 fingered clawed hand. These are used to hold prey while they deliver the killing blow with their tongues or bite. The final pair of arms has a sharp mantis like claw that are used primarily for securing shelter in the trees or burrowing. They are not usually used in combat and mainly are folded to their sides. They often sleep in trees, embedding their large claws into the wood then hanging there till the morning. Their mouth while filled with large teeth had no armor piercing power; while their jaws were strong enough to crush bone their teeth could not stand up to the punishment of biting anything but soft flesh. To remedy this problem in development a their tongue was engineered to have huge arteries which could be filled with blood quickly, the outer tongue was then toughened and this gave them the ability to pierce normal body armor. This usually occurs then the creature bites a target then quickly fills its tongue with blood like an organic hydraulic pump striking at over 320 miles per hour. Often times this maims the organ but its efficiency piercing body armor and penetrating internal organs, usually the heart, lungs, or kidneys, has made this worthwhile.

War beast: Gamma, Anti-vehicular, naval, heavy assault
G-1:
Duration of Hormonal Stability: 36 hours. Previous attempts at making a war beast capable of penetrating tank armor proved impractical, rather than pierce the armor, the research and development for the Quippothian army has turned toward simply disabling it. G-1 first generation war beasts previously known as Nephilim had trouble moving undetected into fast moving tanks, the second generation of these new war beasts are durable enough for an unprotected airdrop over a large area, they also now have a large muscular “foot” ending with a suction cup which allows them to hang onto tanks while moving as well as squeeze inside. Averaging a foot long, the G-2 war beasts have hyper compressible bodies able to squeeze through spaces that many consider impossible. Their skin contains an adaptive pigmentation system of such high quality that they are practically invisible at ranges greater than 50 feet. These war beasts attack by means of a venomous bite. It contains a lethal neurotoxin deadly in 15-20 seconds after injection dependant on where they bite, the closer to the head the faster the poison works. The venom causes muscular spasms and at the end of its course, complete paralysis of the heart and lungs. These are only able to bite once or twice before their venom stores are expended and they die.
G-2:
Duration of Hormonal Stability: Indefinite. Using newer technology, G-2 war beasts, previously known as leviathans, are able to sustain the life of the war beast. This ability is caused primarily by their tremendous size. At a length of 300 feet long and 20 feet wide, these resemble sea serpents of medieval lore. Rather than attempting to match the might of a battleship or aircraft carriers, G-2’s instead release a long fibrous strand of material that fouls props thus disabling the ships means of movements. After this occurs provided the ship is short enough, the war beast can reach over the deck to attack crewmembers or destroy grounded jets. Because of their tremendous size, leviathans need to be fed regularly, they require a cow sized meal every third day or they will fall into a torpor, in normal storage conditions before hormonal activation, a leviathan must be fed as it will not do so on its own, after hormonal activation, the leviathan will actively hunt in the area within a zone marked with pheromones. To prevent detection by sonar, leviathans are designed to have a relatively thin profile as well as being equipped with two dozen fins on each side of its body, when the G-2’s sensitive lateral line detects the minute shockwave caused by sonar, it simultaneously vibrates its fins in a counter-frequency designed to break up its shape, while older ships may not see anything at all, newer ships will likely see a large school of broken up shapes, like that of fish, rather than the solid shape of a G-2.
G-3: Heavy Assault/Amphibious war beast
Duration of Hormonal Stability: 48 hours. Previously known as Adramelech, this relatively new war beast is well known for a catastrophic escape from Quippothian arms labs. This horse-sized creature looks somewhat like an alligator with longer arms, legs, and 5 bone topped tentacles on its back. Designed originally for amphibious assaults, the adramelech showed remarkable ability at being a vector for germ warfare; the earlier Acheron plague (named after the area it occurred in) was found to not affect the war beast while remaining virulent in its system. The newer generation two G-3 war beasts are more heavily armored and have a slightly adaptive pigmentation system. While unable to make patterns, it can change to any solid color making it difficult to see from a distance. The G-3 war beasts’ new armor plates contain a thick, though buoyant, carapace that can deflect medium caliber rounds without harm to the beast; however, sustained fire will still bring the beast down. The primary weapon of this beast is its 5 dorsal tentacles, each ending with a bony club they can shatter bone and crush organs with great affect, in lab tests it is shown to strike at speeds over 350 miles per hour. Its mouth, while having a great deal of strength, is unable to open wide enough to bite a full sized human and its claws are too soft for anything but locomotion. Its blood is pumped by a large 4 chambered heart all designed to facilitate its secondary feature. When this war beast is shot, the extremely high blood pressure will spray its blood distances over 20 feet, not only is this blood laden with the deadly Acheron plague but it also evaporated very quickly in the open air. All this facilitates the spread of bacterial agents.

War beast: Delta, anti-aircraft wind carried war beast.
D-1: Prototype test name 1F-WCWB
The D-1 war beast resembles a three-suckered translucent jellyfish, while they do not possess a means of attack; their body is a weapon. Weighing less than .003 of an ounce, these war beasts are released into the wind where they float until they collide with a solid object, for D-1’s this object would be low-flying planes or helicopters. They destroy these in two different ways. The first is primarily against prop planes or helicopters. When these war beast burst against a fuselage they release long streams of stretch polymers, which get lodged into the gears controlling rotors of propellers. Once enough of this has collected the aircraft will stall and crash if the engine doesn’t explode first. For low flying jets their bodily fluids are also a thick tarry substance that changes from colorless to black on contact with the air, war beasts striking the canopy will cause blindness in the pilot forcing them to likely turn back, with advanced tracking systems on planes however, it is unlikely they will crash.

D-2: Prototype test name 2F-HAWB
The D-2 is a high altitude anti-jet war beast.
This war beast resembles a four-finned metallic lamprey with barbs protruding from its appendages. When this war beast is released it’s attracted to various jet signatures such as heat, or radar. It will then glide its way on an intercept course with the target, when it strikes the war beast is invariably killed but at the same time, its corpse’s wing barbs lodge themselves into the fuselage causing havoc with the planes controls. They have been found extremely effective in laboratory tests, in one test run a volunteer pilot reported over 20 war beasts out of 100 had struck his flipped over and slammed into the ground. To be effective these war beasts must saturate a hot zone, to do this High altitude drones carry them by the thousand. Once within range of the hot zone they are released from super high altitude by the thousand.

War beast: Epsilon, assassination.
E-1, previously known as the shade, due to its extreme effectiveness at its job it’s been practically unchanged since its creation.
A shade looks like a thin 6 foot tall completely hairless black human with no facial features except a huge mouth full of extremely long straight teeth. Its limbs are extra-long giving it a very unnerving appearance. Both hands end in inch long claws. The shade is has no bones, but rather a cartilage skeleton allowing it to squeeze through spaces normally too small for a human being to sneak up on its prey. It senses its target through a combination of scent, sound, and heat. Its heat is its worse sense and it relies mostly on sound to find a possible target and smell to confirm. Its saliva carries a nasty bacteria much like that of a komodo dragon which allows it a second chance at its objective provided it can at least bite its target. Unlike other war beasts the shade is barely sentient and can be trained like a bloodhound when to attack and when not to attack, because of this extra requirement shades are fairly rare in the quippothian military.
