In a press release distributed from the Palace of the Ancients last night, the Domitor of Tirest has officially stated the Communion's new policy towards refugees, immigrants, the persecuted and unwelcome.
"For a hundred years our ancestors wandered without succor or shade. With no place to call home, no roof to hide them from the angry sun or wall to shield them from the harsh wind. They founded the nation of Tirest upon the shifting sands.
"We must not forget our suffering. We must not let the pain of thirst fade from our throats. We must show honor to those without it, we must show respect to the beaten down.
"The war to unify the city-states of Tirest under a single banner has faded into the memory of the previous generation. For the first time, we stand together as a single people, united in purpose. No longer are we bickering tribes.
"The welcome of our lands is free to any who would have it. We know the suffering of the dispossed, the longing felt by every refugee. Tirest is now, and will ever be, a home to the homeless, and rest for the weary. Let it be known."
