A New Proto-type, A Game with a friend.

The Sleek hull of the Eclipse left the holds of Tor Yvresse, named the 'False face' it was to be the Proto-type of a new Sub-Class, the start of a new Fleet. Onboard the vessel the proud Captain sat an amused look on his face.

'Council we have left dock and are now opening the orders package. Orders recieved and understood, commencing operation.'

Slowly the ship moved out from it's home for the last three Months, the place where Vaul Smiths had worked tirelessly on every system, installing the key componments of the vessel, it looked like any of it's sisters, apart from a few strange extra outcroppings. Inside was a different matter, it seemed alive, a hum filled the air, as an Infinity circuit sprang to life, onboard the vessel and the ship disappeared into the Web.

An Hour or so later near Mars it exited again and joined with the fleet operations there, slipping into the Asuryan's First fleet as if it where a part of it, and joined on patrols, nothing unusual, until a day later it slipped away again.

Then a Shimmering and it was gone, in it's place was a proud ship of the Menelmacari Grav Fleet, on patrols and returning to Earth, and whatever emergency the 9th Fleet's whistle stop tour had taken it upon. Every Detail was exact, every carving, every shade of of Mithrail. The way the sun refelected off the metal in the depths of space, inside the 'False Face', the infinty circuit was in overdrive, perfecting the image. In many ways it was defenceless at the moment, the holo-field that usually defended the vessel was being used to produce this image. It was now the Anduril the simple aim was to join the fleet without being noticed, and then leave.

'All Crew members we are begining the final stages of the test, as of now all crew are to speak, and think in Quenya, this is imperative, I don't want any slip ups.' The last words to be spoken in Eldarlan, now all was to be as it would be onboard a ship of the Menelmacari Empire.

Slowly the vessel neared the 9th Fleet as if it where any other vessel, and awaited a transmission, onboard 1500 Eldar held their collective breaths would they succeed and bring a new tool to the Kionash?

Aboard the shroud class cruiser Dead Air numerous covert checks were run on the vessel headed for Menelmacar, as was routine. It outwardly confirmed to a Menelmacari design, but deeper scans revealed its true design. The ship's AI informed it's current commander, who smiled grimly and began forwarding a message, correctly formatted, and identified as originating in the Confederacy to the Menelmacari naval headquarters:

"We have reason to believe that the vessel identified as Anduril currently headed in to your ninth fleet is a fallen or possibly renegade eldar faction vessel, using what is known as a 'mimic device,' for which broard specifications are enclosed. We suggest that you immediately designate it an enemy vessel, if a genuine Anduril exists in your records, we suggest that you make efforts to contact it elsewhere to establish the impostor's fraudulance. We would appriciate it if you did not inform anyone of our providing this information."

The message was relayed to the Warlord of the Ninth Fleet with all possible haste, even as False Face/Andúril approached.

The flagship of the fleet, the dreadnought Mandos, waited until the vessel was nearly within the fleet's formation before contacting her.

"Mandos to Andúril. You have been detected on inbound vector, Ninth Fleet. Please relay current security passcode, and a copy of your orders; we have not been informed by command of any ship rotations to occur today."

As this happened, vessels throughout the fleet shifted, almost to englobe the interloper; this would not seem out of place, however, as Menelmacari formations were of an almost constantly-shifting nature anyway.

This was not good, there was no way they could transmit the security code, they did not have it, 'How did thy know... hmm better come up with something fast and start backing away, slowly. Warlock send a message back to the Council. Test aborted, Further orders needed.'

The message of course was transmitted through the Immaterium, it was time now to buy time. first a minor thought impulse to the Infinity Matrix that was running this show for the vessel, simulate the effect of an interior explosion in fifteen second

As the order was sent the Matrix went to work, Souls rushed to work out the efffect the Captain was requesting. To determine it's outer appearance and then to consider how the holo-Field would have to be changed, it was time to determine how the illusion had been penertrated.

'Mandos this is the Andúril We are suffering from some internal problems transsmitting the Code now'
Now was all the captain had to think as the souls raced to work, and the illusion changed first an explosion seemed to rip from inside the vessel, obviously communications went of line, and the ship appeared to drift, dead in space. It was unlikely to buy much time but until the Council decided upon a course of action they had to do whatever it took, short of actually fighting.

Perhaps the false explosion had been overkill.

"Mandos to Andúril, it seems you've got a serious problem over there. Hold position, we will send engineering crews to assist." Vilulaírë dropships launched from several vessels and approached; many of the capital ships in the fleet also locked gravtractors onto Andúril.

Meanwhile, an effort was underway to locate the real Andúril.

The reply from the council was simple enough, the test was aborted, and there current position was untenable. They where to continue the test until the first Boarding crews entered an then drop the Holo-vision and surrender. The Warlock would then inform the council and a channel would open.

They did not have to wait for long, and as the Dropship entered the Holo-Field, the image was dropped and the Captain transmitted his message, from the Bridge of the now revealed Eclipse, aimed of course towards the Mandos

'Warlord, Allow me to present the False Face Eclipse Class Vessel of the Kionash Tor Yvresse. I, and my government, apologise for this deception. The Council will contact the Lady Sirithil shortly, but for now, I have been ordered to surrender, and answer any concerns you might have, as long of course, as the answers are not Classified.'

"By Eru," Warlord Gilthalion nos Círdan whispered as he watched the ship drop its illusion. "Very impressive indeed."

"It wasn't a Fallen ship after all, milord," the tactical officer reported, but Gilthalion already knew. The size and the distinctive sails made that obvious.

Gilthalion nodded. "Open a channel."

"This is the dreadnought Mandos to cruiser False Face. I assume this was some sort of test?"

'Warlord, indeed, a new weapon systems test, we did not inform your government of the matter as we wanted a true test. To see if during true operational procedures, the field would successfully allow us close enough for a first strike situation. If I may ask a question, what was the first clue as to our Masquarade?'

The Look on the Captains face was not one of any acedemic interest, this appeared more a matter of pride for the man. Months of training had gone into preparing his crew, he was convinced that they had it down.
