Thats a lot of women serving in your armed forces, either that or an attempt to be PC. If it is the case, one good war would cripple your population for a generation.

I fail to follow your logic, Dhoregnohb. Both men and women serve in his military. How would the existance of female casualties cripple a generation?
04-12-2003, 21:04
I'm really not going to explain it  , but, if his draft were to include both females and males, and he were to truly go to war with another power, his society would take longer to recover. As it is, nevermind, I think he was just being PC.

OOC: Humor me. And I'm not sure if he said it was a conscript-based army. Most modern armies are all-volunteer forces. I fail to see how the same number of people dying in two scenarios, only in one half of the dead being female, produces a different societal outcome.

I believe what the diplomat is trying to say, is that If females are killed off in great numbers due to warfare, the birthing rate will be substantially decreased.....old women and young girls are not goin to be involved in the military. Rather it will be women in the prime of life...birthing age. Therefore this lack of eligible women will result in less childres, therefore less population.

At the risk of sounding un -PC...I believe it has something to do with having children, women can only bear one in a nine month period, but men can father many..

If ten men die out of twelve, then those two can father children by twelve women..

if ten women die out of twelve, then thats only two children..

Yes, I have women in my forces-but it is not solely made up of them so I still have a very healthy population of women "at home". I personally can't see how it would afect anything, but you'r point is accepted.

No, in every 42 men and women an average of 10 units are female. Not 42 men and 42 women. Not 21 men and 21 women. If a woman wants to fight for her country thats fine by us.
