Faced with increasing foreign aggression, Xanthal has drafted plans to add another 50,000 defense outposts to the 100,000 already orbiting the Aellis star. "With this addition, the Aellis system will become the most well-defended system in the galaxy. With constant maintenance and additions, Xanthal will be forever safe from it's enemies."
The plan calls for the complete destruction of all non-normal space in the Aellis vicinity, protecting the system from FTL intrusion, and the destabilization of peripheral Aellis space that will limit ships entering the system to 0.0005 SL, preventing enemies from rushing the system's defenses.

Good plan, but not perfect, still, a good plan.

How close is this star to our region of space that is by yours?

How in Eru's name do you intend to 'destroy' non-normal space, and destabilize peripheral space? Assuming tearing such a vast hole in multidimensional spacetime wouldn't destroy the entire star system - which our scientists predict to be the most likely outcome - Aellis' potential for trade and economic growth would be emasculated completely. Simply put, no merchant will find going there to be worth the time and hassle.

And a hundred and fifty thousand defense stations? What are they made of, chemical engines, cardboard armor, and spitball cannons?

Menelmacar: This is why I like reading what you post, it can be just plain funny, I can't guess what kind of Defense Platforms Xanthal intends to bring in, they're probably small, individually-weak "Swarmers" in my opinion.

The Xanthalian Council has overridden the War Ministries' plan. Construction of more defense platforms will not commence. Plans to destroy non-normal space will go forward, seeing as FTL travel is forbidden within Xanthalian systems anyway.

Congratulations on making trade with your nation completely impractical.

Ravenspire: That's why we said around the system. It's just a 'speed bump' of sorts that encompasses the system in a sphere. Still, like was mentioned before, plans to distort normal space have been cancelled. Also, do your research. Xanthal's trade right now consists of less than $5,000,000 in imports and exports a year. We already almost completely banned international trade. In fact, Chibits are our only regular export.
