OOC: Currency

I was just doodling in Paint, and made myself a currency, so I was wondering what some of you people thought of it. I have yet to make a coinage, but here's the 1 Heavenly Dollar Bill:

The other bills are exactly like that, except the 100 is slightly differnt (I'd show you but my Image hosting site decided to spasm on me after only allowing me to upload the 1).

Please post what you think needs adding!

I like it, but "superb" isn't spelled supurb, just FYI. :D

Heh. I still don't know why you chose 'our' flag for yours. It's an Australian flag, yank.

Now drop and give me 50. On your knuckles. On broken glass.

Our money is all electronic, managed in an inpregnable national registry computer, along with information on every Raysian Citizen.

Our citizens wear moderately high-tech ID rings that transmit requested information to police and government computers by broadcasting a short-range ultra-high frequency radio waveform, that is as unique as the person's own genetic code. It is what allows them to start cars, planes, unlock weapons, and even has their bank account accesses. The only thing they need to do to purchase anything is simply wave their ring across a simple scanner, which pops an ID check up on a small display. If everything checks out, then they enter a vocal password into the scanner and it confirms whatever deal they have agreed to.

Foreigners and temporary citizens are given Small cards that look like credit cards, which basically do the same thing.

That's nice Raysia... But, if someone hacked into your ID Mainframe, your entire national Infastructure would collapse.

I'm sure you have all the latest and greatest anti-hacking devices, but you don't know a Hacker's strategy until they've hit, so they're always one step ahead of you...

I think TOC will stick to cold hold cash...

I think TOC will stick to cold hold cash...LOL Hackers exist in a world where next to nothing on the internet is censored... we have an elite force of antihack that handles national security and control the flow of information.

THe internet is a very restricted thing in Raysia, used mainly for chat and research and business.

But that doesn't stop a Hacker from offshore, who has major international resources at their hands, to crack your code. Or a Hacker who would by chance sneak into the MainFrame's actualy location, and hack into it from itself... Probably unlikely, I can see your "We have Ultimate Security Force" sentence in next post...

We asked the average Roanian what they thought of TOC's currency. The general response is, "What is this internet you speak of, and why does your government allow it to exist?"

When we made it clear what the question was asking, they said, "Um... why don't they just adopt the NSWorldollar, like us? And what's the exchange rate?"

That still doesn't help with Hackers from another nation, and besides, if a Hacker hacked the mainframe fast enough, it would still go down. He might go to jail, but it would go down, and your entire inustructure would collapse within minutes. Rebooting a Mainframe is no easy task either (no matter how advanced it is)

I'm not saying your way is wrong, I'm saying our way is safer to national stability.

Your infustructure could collapse if you had a power outage that lasted long enough for your back up generators to run out of power, or if you had a major disaster damaging the server the mainframe is hosted on, or if you had a war, the building could be nuked, and your country would fall into complete disaster within minutes.

I'm sure you have percautions against most events, but there's still a margin where something could happen, and if it did, the result on your country would be about 70 million times worse then 1929, as everybody would lose everything. Your government wouldn't even be able to access it's funds.

I just think a real currency, one that isn't virtual, is slightly more safe...

Oh, the exchange rate is something like 4.7 heavenly dollars (TOC currency) = $1 US... I forget, I figured it out a while ago, it's on my World Factbook (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98518&highlight=)

This is what we call money ... none of this banknote or credit card stuff
http://victorian.fortunecity.com/klimt/212/crusaders/JERAmalricI_small.JPG

Anyone caught clipping or melting down our money gets punished severely. We do support electronic transactions, but our people trust coinage in the hand more.
03-12-2003, 09:13
Our citizens do not trust currency. Period. The government encourages this by printing random denominations of emuris for the express purpose of scamming foreigners.

We, along with most of the rest of our region use the Klatchian kronor, worth 1.23 US dollars. Theoretically everyone uses it, but some still haven't introduced it. the currency has unified banknotes, with holofoil inserts to thwart forgery, and coins vary from state to state. mine are triangular.

OOC

I'm a coin collector and banknotes are just government IOU's to me. I love medieval coinage ... especially gold and silver.
