Political Freedoms are allowed, things such as: free speech (to a point), free press (to a point), freedom of religion (although we don't go so far as to remove God from public), the right to peacefully protest and assemble, the rights of the accused, and basically every other right in the U.S. Constitution. However there are few to no laws regulating business, the enviornment, etc.

Presidents are elected every 8 years, there are no term limits (I.E. he can run for office as much as he wants). A large Senate governs all the Legislature, and the Supreme Court hears all cases deemed to be 'important', and justices are elected directly by the people every 4 years. A President's veto can be overridden by the Senate if 2/3 of the people agree.

The amount of Senators is determined by the population of each city (each major City autmotically gets 1 seat) and each City gets an additional Senate seat for every 50,000 people they have (which really operates like the U.S. House of Rep.).

The President of Bigmenistan at the moment is a man by the name of Alan Jones. He's a die-hard Republican who believes in a strong military, against abortion, against cloning, for nuclear powerplants, against raising taxes, against gun control, and he's against any kind of legislature that would provide a loophole for the Government to spy on the people.

Alan Jones has also been recently elected as the Head of the GCON Regional Assembly (the equivilant of the Secretary-General in the UN).

History and Major Events-

Nation founded on a Coup d'etat on a Communist regime. Rebel forces used guerilla and underground tactics to overcome the fact that they were severly outmanned and outgunned. Eventually the populous got tired of being oppressed by the Government and they rose up. The climax of the Civil war saw Rebel forces storm the Presidents building and hang him. Afterwards the first free elections in 75 years were held in Bigmenistan. After the Revolution the Country enjoyed a time of prosperity for about 46 years (in which a war against guerillas from the former regime took place), as a revitalized private sector now had an incentive to work for (more pay).

The nation then went to war with Shimdah over terrorist acts that that Country was carrying out on it's peaceful neigbors. The campaign was long, but the terrorists were eventually swept out of the Country and destroyed.

About 3 years after this a terrorist by the name of El Akaris (leader of "the Oppresors") detonated a biological weapon inside Bigman City. The weapon contained Small-Pox, which quickly spread and infected about 2 million people in the capital, and in the nearby city of Bigmingo.

Due to the lack of doctors and vaccines the disease spread out of control, and it eventually took an international humanitarian effort to provide enough medicine to treat and contain the virus. Shortly after this, the Oppresor launched an invasion of Bigmenistan. There was heavy fighting on the borders, but eventually the enemy was driven back, and their fleet was forced to retreat out of Bigmenistan waters (it was pursued and destroyed).

24/7 airstrikes began on the Oppresors, who wisely took refuge in their lush jungle areas and began a campaign of guerilla warfare. Napalm and dispersion mines were dropped throughout the jungle and bunkers were destroyed. Seeing the damage that the wide-spread airstrikes were doing, a General Azis took power from El Akaris and surrendered. Special forces went in and captured Akaris and he was put on trial and later executed.

About 1 million died from the Small-pox outbreak before it could be contained.
