Assington

Skadi stood upon the largest building within Emerald City, Assington. The rain ran over her dark hair and moved downward over her trenchcoat. She continued to wait until she spied what was needed.
Down on the streets of Emerald City, a young man hurried through the rain in an attempt to catch the bus. The vehicle sped off, leaving him to soak in the downpour. Hodur sighed as he began the long treck home. It was late and few were around. He had spent the whole day in protest to the government's new vampiric integration policy. He hated the idea of having creatures that could easily jump out and drain you of blood roam freely around Assington.
Hodur was an average six foot 25 year old Asstoninan. He represented the people that did not want vampires as citezens of this nation. He feared he was fighting a losing battle and the vampiric scum would be free to feed off anyone they wished. As he walked down a backalley, Hondur noticed a silence that was extremely rare in this city. No noise at all. He thought this strange but continued to make his way home. Upon checking the cit clock, he noted it was now morning and he pondered wether it was even worth coming home.
Skadi followed the young man. She realised he would probably be her last spawn once the new laws were passed. Her kind would no longer hide in the shadows of this world. They would be recognised as part of it. Skadi did not approve of this. Her place was in the darkness, feeding upon the weak humans. She continued to climb across the wall, keeping out of sight. Her eyes gleamed in the darkness as she observed the lone man.
Hondur picked it up eventually. A sense of being followed built up in his mind until he couldn't ignore it. He tought it was just his mind playing tricks on him. One year ago he had learnt he posessed great potential for psychic abilities. But he refused to have anything to do with it. Hondur was a scientist. He wanted no part of supernatural powers and creatures and firmly believed in a basic human lifestyle. Suddenly an image took over him. He could see himself walking through the alley, but from far back. And high on the wall above him, a dark figure with shining eyes.
He began to sprint. He didn't know what he had just seen but it scared the hell out of him. His apartment was only two blocks away, he knew he could make it. Skadi leapt off the wall and landed in a large puddle with a splash. Hondur could hear the pursuing footsteps pound in his ears as he ran. The vampire continued her chase. She enjoyed scaring humans before she fed. She had fed already this night, this human was business.
Finally Hondur reached his apartment building. He spun around to find nothing. He wasn't quite sure if he had imagined everything or he had outran his pursuer. It didn't really matter. The young man entered the building and made his way up to his apartment on the 28th floor. Upon entering the apartment he encountered those glowing eyes once again, starring directly at him. Hondur wasn't quite sure if it was real, until the eyes blinked. He turned to flee the room but the creature moved with such speed that it had a ironclad grasp on him before he could move.
Skadi looked into the eyes of her soon to be spawn. She saw fear, but beyond that she saw power, determination and intelligence. This was definately the one. She opened her mouth revealing her razor sharp fangs. Hondur's eyes widened as he saw the fangs.
"A vampire. Shit! Get the hell off me!"
Hondur felt helpless as she moved in to drain his blood. His mind was racing with images of his life and more recently his campagin against vampires. Something snapped. He could feel his head and body heat up as if a great energy were running through his veins. Then it left him. He opened his eyes to see the vampire in midflight across the room. She landed with a thud on the floor and returned to her feet.
"Ah... a psychic. You shall prove an interesting fledgeling."
Skadi charged toward Hondur once again. He attempted to do whatever he had just done but to no sucess. She landed on top of him, sinking her fangs into his pulsing artery. Within seconds he was on the floor, feeling as weak as he had ever been. He could just make out a female figure standing over him, holding out her wrist.
"Human, drink this and you shall live."
She pressed her slender wrist to the mans dry lips, the vampiric blood trickling through his lips and onto his tongue. All fear disappeared at the first drop of blood. It became the only thing on his mind, he must have more. The wounded man took several long draughts before the figure pulled away. He noticed her smiling face before he lapsed into darkness.
