Before Reading please look over the post by Papua Guinea

Papua Guinea has just notified us about their recent discovery. We were very eager to go and investigate this discovery. What we found is highly confidential but we found a substance deep in the cavern that has the same qualities as acid. We discovered that when one of our researchers fell into the pool of acid and did not come out. King Lefold III is very interested and has made an agreement with Papua Guinea to build a research facility around the find. We discovered that this acid can burn through anything but guineaum. The unique characteristic of Guineaum is that it can hold powerful acids and we use the guineaum to store our new find. We can not at this time tell if the acid is one that we know of at this time or a new acid that has new characteristics. We are trying to find uses for this acid but at this time we can not find anything. Anyone wanting to donate money to this research may do so or if they would like to buy some they can at a price of 1k per gallon. We would like to know anything about this acid that you may learn. If you find any uses please notify me ASAP.

The Grand Duchy of I-rey is very interested in any hallucinogenic properties the acid might contain. If there are any tests which show evidence that a test subject could safely trip on the stuff, I-rey will pour an obscene amount of money into the research and harvest of said acid.

I will send 5 gallons of the substance to your nation for 5k and I would like to see the results of your tests.
02-12-2003, 06:00
Done and done. The 5k is currently being transferred from a secure account in Komdor, and the Rasta scientists of Zion Labs will begin testing as soon as the shipment of acid arrives. The King will be updated if any significant discoveries are made.

While doing more research this acid may contain some chemicals that stimulate cancer and may make cancer spread 10 times faster than any normal radioactive substance. This will only happen if you stay in range of the chemical for extended periods of time.
02-12-2003, 06:04
King Lefold III has just transfered 5000k into the project to make sure of its success in creating new weapons and finding any medical advantages it may help with to get rid of cancer. If we discover any cures or ways to prevent diseases or weapons we will notify ASAP.
02-12-2003, 06:08
Since this chemical was found in our borders we demand by the name of Emperor Niolac II 50% of all finished products and money you obtain when selling this substance but you may also sell Guineaum, the metal used to store the acid and already done weapons made by the metal.
02-12-2003, 06:08
We at Very Annoying Peoples would like to buy 5 gallons of this acidic liquid for 5k, for testing purposes.
02-12-2003, 06:09
We will ship when we recieve payment pls send have of the money to the Papua Guinea bank account number 552654 in the national bank

Thank You

Concerning the article "Papua Guinea Discovers New Metal":

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do you even publish Papua Guinea's claims? The Periodic Table doesn't have any gaps. Amorphous alloys won't work because gun barrels get hot - hot enough to sag in real world use.

Pentagonal alloys would get the job done. That is a matter of engineering design, not exotica. HIP a Ti carbonitride dislocation-pinned pentagonal alloy synthesized in an attritor like oxide-pinned nickel superalloys. Or grow single crystal gunbarrels like high performance turbine blades.

"These guns use Pressured gas To increase the speed of the bullets."

That's bull----. Liquid propellant and multiple explosion barrels have been examined to death. You can buy off the shelf standard rifles whose rounds are still supersonic 1000 yards downrange. One shot, one kill. Most armed conflict occurs within 100-200 yards. The trend is toward small rounds and carrying more of them, plus no more "full auto." A three shot burst is all that can be justified in anything smaller than crewed weapon. If a million North Koreans (aka Red Chinese) are storming your position, handheld weapons won't save you. How many tons of bullets would you need to kill a million soldiers? Lots. Use bigger stuff.

"The bullets are made from Guineaum which is very dense and will travel through certain areas on high grade metal."

----. Use depleted uranium. Its surface sloughs as it travels
through armor plate, lubricating its way through. When it exits the
white-hot remains pyrophorically explode into a burning metal
fireball.

"99/100 times they pierced the armor but they did not go through the tank completly the 1/100 time back fired and killed the tester."

They do not have a salable weapon.

"Recently we found a new use for Carbon Monoxide. The gas chamber in our guns is able to compact Carbon Monoxide easier allowing for better effiency and less back fires it still is not 100% efficient but it is on its way and it is capable to go through tanks easier but not the thicker sections on the armor."

Horrible ----.

"These are not small bullets. They are about 1in. They can pierce the weaker areas of a tank not the dead center where all the armor is. It can pierce weaker areas of tanks."

How thick do they think a long rod penetrator is? During the recent rumble in Iraq the U.S. was taking out Iraqi armor with .30 cal depleted uranium rounds fired from Hummers. "A jeep killed my tank."

Papua Guinea officials are sounding like a bad Star Trek episode.

"The metal was mutated"

Hint 1 for Papua Guinea: Metal doesn't "mutate". Only organisms do.

"because of the electrons of steel"

Hint 2: Steel is not a naturally occurring substance. They perhaps wanted to refer to the element of which steel is made. The name of that element is left as an exercise to Papua Guinea officials.

"and the electrons of uranium were fused"

Hint 3: "The electrons were fused" is meaningless. That's not
something electrons do.

"by the nuclear waste"

Hint 4: Look up something rudimentary on radioactivity and
find out what it is, and what effects it has on surrounding material.
You won't find "fusing the electrons" any more than you'll find
"fusing the dilithium crystals of the tachyon drive".

"Papua Guinea was trying to hide in these caverns. It is very dense and is party radioactive. It at high speeds will cause serious damage to its target."

So will a rock.

"Using it in buildings for support beams would be useful. The downside is that people may develop cancer if they are exposed to this metal for extended periods of time making this metal better for weapons."

"Bang! OK, buster, you're gonna have a serious cancer in that arm in
30 years. Unless of course you have surgery to remove my bullet. Or
you shoot me first with that perfectly ordinary gun that you're
pointing at my... <bang>"

- Randy Poe

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Papua Guinea bureaucrats don't write very good science fiction. If they want to discover a new metal in a mountain, that's fine. But they should know when to stop giving the reader technical details. Think of Star Wars versus Star Trek. In Star Trek they did a lot of talking, and their scientific competence was obvious. In Star Wars they didn't even try to explain how light sabers or energy shields or things of that nature work, they just used them.

The piercer of choice is the self forging
penetraters... A shaped charge is wrapped
around a tungsten carbide core that, as the round
gets close to target, explodes and forges a
dart that impacts at terminal velocity plus
the kinetic kick of the HE forging and directing
the dart into the target. The impact of the dart
can be 10 times the projectile velocities....

These are also used in the multiple independently
magnetically targeting sub munitions fired from
120mm pieces and air dropped canisters...

These beauties separate from the main munitions
and deploy chutes on each one. Just above the targets
the explode and forge a dart that hits armor from
above ( weakest areas) ... Each sub munitions has a
magnetic sensor that aims the dart independently and
can take out up to 6~10 tanks over a football field area
in one shot....

What's really kewl is when you mix a batch of the self
forgers with anti personnel mines and cluster canisters
in a cruse missile and fly it over the battle area and
hit the tanks... keep going to lay a mine field... keep going
and cluster ---- the HQ and then fly on to impact their
HE war head into a nice fat munitions factory...

A machine gun that, on one out of a hundred shots, kills the
machine gunner. Hmm. With a *lifetime* warranty. Hmm.

"As to the new technology the weapon uses a special shell made from the metal. It is compact to cause greater damage and more capable to go through thick steel like on a tank."

Wouldn't you rather make the bullet out of the material instead of the shell casing?

Urgent news from the Grand Duchy of I-rey! After careful testing of the potent acid, the scientists at Zion labs have found that when the ultra acidic acid is mixed in equal proportions with the ultra basic milk of the Crested Booka of Scaraba, a complex chemical is created. The chemical, dubbed "Jah Juice" is a potent hallucinogen with no short term side effects. I-rey will order 1000 gallons for 1mil.
04-12-2003, 00:30
The nation of Scaraba is willing to sell the milk of the Crested Booka, a key component in Jah Juice, to whatever nation can guess the word that the Sultan is thinking of...and it's NOT KITTY!

1000 gallons is being shiped out of the nation of papua guinea. Our supply is running short we will recieve more from Lefold later this year.
