CPRD declares considerable requirement for ASW aircraft

In light of the nation's considerable coastline, its lack of a navy, and the destruction of the small coastguard by the imperialist forces which continue to besiege it, the Choson People's Republic of Dra-pol has elected to seek acquisition of a vast fleet of anti-submarine warfare aircraft.

Both fixed wing and rotary aircraft have been deemed acceptable for consideration, though the republic has never previously in its history deployed even one helicopter.

The programme has been granted "substantial funds", and orders are likely to be considerable.

Vanguard Class Destroyer

Classified as DV-xxx in the Aequatian Naval Forces, the Vanguard Destroyer is an Aequatian-built modification of the standard U.S. Spruance Class Destroyer which is much better suited for Anti-Submarine Operations than standard Spruance destroyers.

While graciously thanking the speedy response of those parties thus far forthcoming, the Central Directorature stresses the nation's utter lack of a navy, and the presence of a massive naval blockade.

We simply have not the port facilities from which to operate large warships, and establishing a whole new branch of the armed forces and all that goes with it would be massively expensive in a manner for which we have not budgeted, and further it would be more time consuming than we can tollerate.

However, it has come to our attention that we will be requiring merchant vessels, as much as it pains the Drapoel to go to sea at all. Contracters interested in constructing elements of a small merchant marine comprised of small to mid sized transport vessels of various sorts should make themselves known to DaKhiem.

We also have the TTF-365 (Hammer head)

We could ship you about 100 of these almost over night

They cost $17 mil

They are primarly used by the navy, but are also used by the air force as interceptors

The Choson People's Republic continues to require modern dedicated ASW aircraft by the hundred.

We recommend the Nimrod MR4. Based around a modified Comet-airframe (the worlds first jet powered passenger airliner) this magnificent aircraft contains a host of hi-tech gizmos perfect for anti-submarine warfare, or even anti-surface warfare, such as:
* High powered radars for searching for submarine periscopes
* Magnetic Anomoly Detecters for searching for large metal objects
* Up to 32 Sonar Buoys located in an internal weapons bay

The Nimrod is also capable of carrying up to four Sidewinder missiles on underwing hardpoints for self defence, as well as four Harpoon anti-ship missiles. Anti-submarine weapons come in the form of Torpedoes, Depth Charges and Mines. All together, the Nimrod can carry up to 5000kg of ordanance.
In more peaceful times, the Nimrod can also be used to assist in Search and Rescue operations, and can carry life preserving equipment inside its weapons bay.
The Nimrod is capable of operating for long periods of time, up to 15 hours can be spent on station by switching off two of its four engines to conserve fuel.
The Nimrod has a crew of 12 (not included), and we would be happy to send some of our aircrews to help train your pilots and operators.
This marvelous and versatile aircraft can be yours for a mere £75,000,000 Shildonian Pounds, and each aircraft ordered comes with a free CD featuring Elgar's Enigma Variations IX "Nimrod", and a full complement of 4 Sidewinders, 32 SonarBuoys and 4 Harpoons.

As the most promising avenue yet presented, the Shildonian Nimrod offer is to be followed up by DaKhiem.

The Choson People's Republic wishes to acquire two aircraft at once in order to give the first operational trials (ASW warfare is a concept new to the republic), and to experiment with the defensive armament configuration of the second.

It is likely that Dra-pol will wish to replace AIM-9 with native DRAR-1 defensive missiles (which are no better in terms of performance, but are already in production at Kanggye).

Unless superior offers are presented during initial trials, it is likely that DaKhiem will seek to negotiate a much larger follow-up order.

Two of our demonstator aircraft have set off to Dra-pol, along with a KC-10 carrying maintanence personel and equipment, and to refuel the two aircraft en route. Two Shildonian Navy Air Arm aircrews have been generously loaned to us to assist in the training of the Dra-pol aircrews.
As you do not have a navy, we could probably persuade the Shildonian Navy to deploy a submarine to assist in the training, and to perhaps go on a goodwill tour of your nation after the training is complete. Would this be acceptable to your Government?

We'll sell you planes etc, but we'll set a cap... a customer is a customer, but since we were once at war with you, don't expect any discounts or AME sales ;)

DaKhiem thanks Shildonia for its good service, but regrets to state the limitations of present training potential in Dra-pol. The republic is presently suffering under an illegal naval blockade enacted by a coalition of Christian "Crusader states", and as such training over water may as yet be impossible.

International pressure aginst the blockade suggests that it may soon be lifted, and at such a time Dra-pol shall be requiring of a large ASW capacity to prevent such an atrocity being commited against the people a second time.

For now we would advise that your submarine is unlikely to be allowed access to Drapoel territorial waters.
