Siosia Joins the BDI

RAOS(Portigan Herald) - The Siosian government made an unprecedented move during the past few hours. Siosia has joined the Black Diamond Intiative, a small but growing military allliance with some of the most respected countries in the world. The BDI was formed recently with a broad mandate. It's progression as a world power has yet to be seen.
Siosia has geared up military development in the past few years, even appointing a general to the supreme court a few months ago. Some are speculating that these moves were planned for getting acceptance into this military alliance. No confirmations or denials have been offered at this point regarding those claims.
A small statement was released by the Department of Foreign Affairs that offered very little that was conclusive. According to the spokesperson, "this new alliance ensures a promising future for the great country of Siosia." No questions were answered; however, the Siosian Prime Minister will be making a rare public appearance next Tuesday regarding the issue.
Some political analysts are worried by this drastic change, which was most likely the product of dozens of "closed-door" meetings of the Head Comittee. Dr. Patel of the Meruvian University at Ruhr warned that "this coalition signifies an important shift in the basic idealogies carried throughout Siosian society for centuries. There is a strong possibility that there will be severe negative ramifications if the country progresses even further down a military track. Did the Head Comittee not learn the lesson from 25 years ago paid in the lives of 2.5 million people?" Patel's bold claims represent many across the country.
The Department of Foreign Affairs assured that there would be daily updates, revealing some of the information that has compelled the government to create this union. The Prime Minister's speech is designated for 6:00 PM SDT and will be aired on all major channels.
