Journey to Mars (now open for RP)

The Eastern Bloc
01-12-2003, 05:40
It was a momentous day for the Eurydian Republic. The usually mundane space surrounding Eurydice was teeming with activity. War Cruisers, dreadnoughts, transports, freighters, all were moving according to predetermined orders; like so many workers in a beehive. If they were in fact bees, then the “Farstation” would have been the queen. Everything the ships were doing, all the supplies being delivered were done for and according to the Farstation’s orders. The station itself was sitting idly in Eurydian orbit, a bastion of serenity amongst the chaos.

Aboard the station roughly 800 people worked, most of them technicians and engineers making final adjustments to the inner workings of the Farstation. The actual crew that was to be assigned to the station wasn't onboard; the journey to Mars would take 2 weeks. There was one man worthy of mention on the Farstation, one man of importance. He was Arthur Guilder, twin brother of John Guilder, the Foreign Affairs Director. Taking a different path than his brother, Arthur opted not to become a diplomat of sorts, taking up the command of a few vessels throughout his illustrious, albeit short career as a captain. He had retired at the age 36, leaving plenty of time to take part in other Eurydian endeavors. Arthur had been offered to command the Farstation, and so he took it. He felt that he should be in command throughout the duration of the journey, and so he was aboard the Farstation.

Suddenly everything stopped…

As if given an order by some higher power all activity around the station ceased. The once busy transports stopped. The once busy War Cruisers stood silent, their immense height giving them an ominous, almost sentry like appearance. It should be noted that the War Cruisers were indeed the ever-watchful eye of Eurydice, the sentinels of peace.

Everything was motionless. Everyone aboard the various ships stood still, their eyes closely fixed on monitors viewing the Farstation. A divine voice rang out, breaking the silence. It seemed to fill every corner of Eurydian space with its voice, penetrating through the hulls of vessels, pervading even the Farstation itself.

”Final engine diagnostics completed. Warm up procedures completed; all personnel at ready positions; Farstation ion engine startup commencing in 3…2…1…”

As the booming voice subsided a bright light emerged from the Farstation. The large ion engines sputtered to life. They were as blue as the Eurydian oceans and twice as tumultuous. The engines almost gave out before they had even one moment to breath. It wasn’t due to poor construction or poor parts. It was due to the fact that they were the largest engines ever built by the Republic, so it would only be natural for the ion engines to have a few hiccups. Everything was still motionless however, they all waited to see what would happen.

It moved…

Slowly at first, but it was indeed moving. The station lurched forward with a very laborious effort, but as the moments passed the Farstation increased speed. The silence was broken once more, this time by a chorus of cheers and shouts of joy. The station was moving ever so slowly, but it was moving. This marked the end of the 1st step and the beginning of the Farstation’s long journey to Mars.

The Farstation- the hexagonal sections are landing pads. It is also where the ion drive is located.

The War Cruiser Charybdis sat alone in orbit of Mars. It had been sent there over 2 weeks ago with the purpose of informing the Sol System of the Farstation’s impending arrival. Its job had long since been completed, and so it sat, waiting for the Farstation to arrive.

Quite suddenly, it did.

Seemingly out of nowhere swirling form enveloped the space in front of the Charybdis. The station settled into position, its Phasedrive cooling down. It had arrived on time and in the correct place, quite the feat indeed for a space station.

Arthur Guilder smiled as he looked toward Mars through a small window. It was a glorious moment for him. It was the beginning of something great. He went over to his desk and sat down. Arthur opened a comms. channel to all who were listening on Mars, as well as the rest of Sol.

”Greetings, I am Arthur Guilder, head of the Farstation. I am happy to be here, and hope you are all happy to have us. We would be much obliged if you would come aboard and see what there is to see. This station is not only going to be a diplomatic center, it will also become a place where we can bring our culture to you. Just send a communiqué to me and I’ll arrange for a visit. Hopefully now relations between the Eurydian Republic and the Sol System can improve.

He sat and waited. Hopefully someone would respond.

OOC: Just a little update on what Mars is like now.

IC:

Red now mingled with blue on the surface of Mars. Most notable was the vast northern ocean that provided water to the rest of the planet through a huge series of aquaducts maintained by the Eniqcir Kasei House. Dotting this vast body of water were thousands of different habitats housing from hundreds of thousands to millions of sentients in bright islands chains that strung across the northern ocean like a diamond necklace.

The southern portion of Mars, while not as beautiful, was no less populated. Thousands of domes and arcologies marked the nations who had made the land their home. Between them like a spiderweb lay the filiments of transportation systems that linked the nations together in a vast hub. Over 20 billion sentients made their homes on Mars and the signs of them were obvious.

Across the surface darted aircraft - everything from lumbering transport craft to swift civilian vehicles and the faster military fighters that patrolled the wastes. Above these the spacecraft of the Martian nations orbited. Thousands of warships of all shapes and sizes floated amid tens of thousands of civilian frieghters and transports.

There were the graceful menace of Eldar ships, the pyramidal bulk of Therian worldships, the soft disks of RRB skiffs, and the low profiles of Sunset starships. Higher than that were the dozens of stations. Many were not built by Martian nations - they were trade hubs and research stations and intelligence facilities.

(OOC: thanks for the info... it has changed a bit.)

It had changed quite a bit. The Mars talked of in Eurydian folklore was a docile planet, this was the polar opposite. Guilder had heard reports of The World Tree, but didn't quite know how it worked.

"I wonder if it's related to Asgard, Midgard, and Jotunheim. By the sounds of it this World Tree was something I should look into. It seems Sunset has sent information pertaining to that... but I think I'll need more."

As he contemplated the events a transmission was recieved from Pilon. Arthur looked over it with his usual casualness, then prepared a response.

"You are always welcome aboard the Farstation. Your diplomats can come aboard as soon as they are ready. I look forward to our meeting."

As he finished he sighed and looked back out to Mars. What was once a beautiful red orb was now an undulating mass of life. Thus was progess however, and so some changes are bound to be made.

Guilder waited patiently, hoping others would respond.

Higher than that were the dozens of stations. Many were not built by Martian nations - they were trade hubs and research stations and intelligence facilities.
And higher still was a thin glimmering band- the edge on view of the Martian Rings, remnants of ice and rock from the initial stages of terraforming, now serving as a rather pretty decoration, the home of several hundreds, and a refueling station of the Phoenicians. Occasional sparks of blue light belied the presence of CARMs pushing the bits of debris around, some towards other Ships, some just out of the way, and some on slingshots to Venus.

Guilder was a little confused as to the question, and so he thought long and hard before answering.

"Well, compared to your Earth's gravity, our simulated gravity is roughly .97 of that. Our planet, Eurydice, its gravity is .97, and so all ships and stations conform to that. Perhaps since you are Martains you would requre less gravity? Or perhaps more?" There is a genuine feel of confusion in his voice, although by looking at him you'd hardly think he was concerned about anything.

The satellites of Mars were as altered as the planet itself. The erratically-orbiting Phobos, home to Pinnacle Base, might almost have been considered unchanged, if one were to look from just the right angle and to ignore the traffic flowing to and from the tiny moon.

Not so Deimos.

The stabler of Mars' two moons was almost entirely overrun by a glimmering sea of crystal and light -- a colony that had, over time, evolved into a single, satellite-spanning megapolis. Kuraboshi, second but greatest of Ravenspire's star-cities. Deimos was a massive space station in its own right; that, and more. If traffic to Phobos was frequent, to Deimos it was ubiquitous; shuttles flitted back and forth between Kuraboshi and Mars, weaving intricately among larger ships that had come to the megacolony. In the night sky of Mars, the lights of Kuraboshi and its constellation of attending ships were a constant presence.

The electronic comings and goings were, if anything, even more endless than the physical ones. Among this ceaseless tide of data, the Eurydians' message was a metaphorical drop of water. But like the rest, it was dutifully recorded and forwarded to the proper authority for action. Soon, the outgoing river contained a droplet of its own in response.

OOC: Just to continue with the description of Mars...

IC: Scattered along the Southern hemisphere were several large and relatively new craters, two rather close to a dome still under construction over a ruined city.

Another satalite orbited in a lopsided orbit that would intersect with the orbit of Phobos in a few thousand years. It was one of the asteroids that was going to impact the planet and was instead pushed into orbit. A mining station was set up on it and a warship sat nearby.

In an orbit slightly above the other fleets were the brightly lit and rather fluidic looking ships of Crimmond.

A message comes from the surface.

We welcome you to Mars. Our trading stations are open to you as are our cities.

The War Cruiser Charybdis was off to the side, watching the proceedings take place. Two Nial Class fighters emerged from the cruiser and escorted the Pilon craft onto one of the Farstation's many landing platforms. Guilder stood at the docking bay doors, waiting for his friends to arrive. He seemed a bit uncomfortable; the deep blue "Farstation Command" suit he wore was stiff and professional compared to his former captain's outfit.

The doors opened. "Greetings," Guilder said with a smile, "Welcome aboard the Farstation."

Diom saw the Roanian ship coming; it approached slowly. Being the E.I. for the Farstation had its perks, for instantly he searched the database and found exactly what class and expected crew would be aboard. He sent a transmission to Guilder on the short range frequencies.

"Sir, Roanian ship approaching. they appear to be a diplomatic party. Should I let them aboard?"

"Of course. Send out the fighters to escort them in. You can contact the Roanians yourself with particulars. I'm rather busy with the Pilon diplomats."

Diom instantly opened a channel. Two escort fighters cleared the bays of the Charybdis and headed for the transport.

The ship made a percussive sound as it landed. The fighters that had been serving as escort broke off and headed back to the Charybdis sitting ominously in the distance.

Guilder could not make it to greet the Roanians. He felt bad that he couldn't be in more than one place at a time, but the Avatar programs weren't operational on the Farstation. the job of greeting was left to the Subcommander, and he accepted the job reluctantly. He was the head technician on the Farstation and while he had extensive knowledge and expertise on the station itself, his diplomatic skills left much to be desired. Luckily for him Diom could whisper in his ear, giving him pointers on how to handle diplomats.

The doors to the docking station opened with a quiet rumble, and the Roanian stepped through. Subcommander Ector's bright green eyes widened slightly and his heart picked up speed. He ran his hand through his light brown hair; it fell back into place without a noticable disturbance.

"Greetings," he said cheerfully. Ector opened his mouth to speak again but was halted by Diom who butted in, throwing Ector off balance.

He welcomed us to Sol, give your thanks for the compliment.

Ector nodded instinctivly, then smirked as he remembered it was a voice in his head he was responding to. "Thank you for the kind words, sir. It is... a pleasure to be here. Your Pinnacle Base is certainly a sight to behold." He smiled weakly.

"Indeed," Ector said thoughtfully, "I have been a bit wary of a... mechanical takeover of sorts. We cannot rely to heavily upon them, or one day they may come to dominate us. I believe that instead of perfecting computers we should perfect ourselves. That might be strange coming from an engineer, but it's what I believe."

He thought for a moment, then reached up and turned off the comm. link between Diom and himself. He remained silent while Xavier spoke.

"Well, whether some people admit it or not the Sol system is the most populated region in the galaxy. It's the center for trade, diplomacy, as well as conflict, unfortunatly. We left Earth for that very reason, war. Now we feel that we are able transcend all the conflict and aggression that permeates the Sol system. Basically we are here to develop trade amongst nations of Sol. Also, there are always new technologies being developed here... certainly something can be learned and implemented in Eurydian culture."

Ector smiled when Charles mentioned the Pilon delegates, "Pilonians... yes, we have some onboard right now. An interesting people they are.

Teraque's smile faded when asked about Pilon. "I'm afraid all is not going well in Pilon, we have begun to encounter problems when away from home, there have even been some...deaths reported. We are dealing with the problem but it seems to be getting worse."

Guilder wore a concerned expression loosely around his face, "I assume these deaths are not accidental. I hope things improve. Needless to say you will be safe here." Eurydian Republic... large nation spanning several systems... reason for coming... trade... does not fit into projection... most likely path... He continued speaking as his mind whirled through paths of time and space. "We have many items here, that you would be interested in."

When the giant Eastern Bloc station drops out of hyperspace over mars, the LRR space stations take notice. Mouths drop on observation decks, as bewildered engineers stare out at the giant station. The great multitude of LRR ships around the 10-station orbital facility stop in their tracks, transfixed by the huge EB station. The ground facilities, by now a sprawling station consisting of hundreds of acres of buildings and stations. to say nothing of the underground construction, almost cease to buzz at the sight of the giant station. A flight of five Trebuchet Mars Defense fighters flies out to the station at once. They travel in a delta formation, and are painted a traditional LRR grey, but with strange orange, blue, and red stripes.

"Greetings, farstation! This is Lunatic Retard Robots Wing Commander 4th order Dimitry Mendeleev. I, along with my ten colleagues, come in representation of the LRR mars colony, known as 'Arizona,' as well as the LRR government as a whole! We would like to extend our most heartfelt welcomes and wish you a most happy stat in mars orbit! It is LRR diplomatic custom to, on the first day of relations, to not confront divisive and somber issues, but to 'break out the ale,' so to speak, and celebrate! Let us look foreward to a future time, when all beings will be brothers under the triple standard of peace, love, and understanding!"

"Yes, they are." Charles studied them carefully. "You are here for peaceful missions, right? I find it amusing that while we try to expand beyond Earth, you strive to return." Eurydian Republic... large nation spanning several systems... reason for coming... trade... does not fit into projection... most likely path... He continued speaking as his mind whirled through paths of time and space. "We have many items here, that you would be interested in."

"Probably so. The Republic is always interested in advancing its knowledge. Even though we are pacifistic for the most part, we do devote a rather large amount of our funds to the military. Our ambassador will most likely contact you about that sort of thing, once he arrives that is."

The pair finally arrived at the main hall. "If you don't mind I must excuse myself for a moment; there are other guests to greet. You may chat with the Pilon delegates if you wish."

Diom picked up the transmission and sent it directly to Guilder's earpiece. He took a stroll down a long hallway, finally stopping at his office.

"Greetings. Your traditions are certainly welcome here. A bit of foreign beer could not hurt the diplomatic talks." He chuckled, "Two fighters will escort you to a landing pad. I await your arrival."

The mentat nodded. "Indeed. One does find, though, that overdependence on machines is a bad idea, leading as it does to human weakness. A Navigator can do things beyond the work of a phasedrive machine." He walked on, following the subcommander. "I am interested as to why you returned to Sol, Subcommander. And are there Pilonians around?" Silly foriegners.

Needless to say you will be safe here." The delelegation entered the banquet hall and sat down. "If you'll excuse me I have a few more guests to attend to. The meeting will begin shortly. Until then."

Guilder bowed slightly and walked out.

"Teraque bowed his head. The Death's were suicides. We are calling it the Pilon Longing. We have begun to withdraw many of our ambassadors from foreign posts because of problems."

There was something about the LRR people that would always bring some sort of joyfulness to any event. Indeed, an event such as this would always need a little humor, so the LRR ships were welcomed with open arms. As was Eurydian custom the fighters were escorted by two of the Charybdis’s own fighters; it was a formality that often proved useful in certain situations.

At the same instant that the LRR fighters touched down on Pad 8 a Eurydian transport phased into existence. Aboard was Ambassador Ultraan, more often that not referred to as Lady Mia. She was the cousin to Wayden Ultraan, a famous name within Eurydian culture. The lady was far less well known than her distant relative, but she was no less potent with words. After serving as ambassador to numerous other nations and races she had earned the right to be ambassador to the entire Sol system.

Phasing immediately after the transport were two Septum Monitors. They were sleek and graceful to the eye, but very powerful if provoked. Their size masked their incredible strength; only a mere 393 meters. The two monitors, Starfall and Firefall, carried roughly 50 of the Farstation’s personnel. They were to serve as a skeleton crew until the rest arrived.

Arthur looked out to the stars from his office having just sent a transmission to TROUSRS and the EOTED concerning the ballistic missile situation. The Farstation's crew, as well as Lady Mia were a welcomed sight to his eyes.

Sir, the Starfall and Firefall have both arrived, preceded by Ambassador Ultraan’s craft.

Arthur chuckled while nodding, ”Yes I know, tell them they are welcome to come aboard." He stood, brushing some invisible substance off his suit, most likely out of habit. He left the main office, only to happen upon Subcommander Ector. The two walked together.

”So Commander Guilder, how are the Roanian guests?”

”Very well thank you. The man, Xavier, is quite the character.”

Arthur looked to Ector, ”And the Pilon delegates? I take it they are as… free as always?”

”Indeed, although not uncouth mind you, just… different. I hope the other guests don’t mind their attire, or lack thereof.”

”Indeed,” Arthur said, ”I wish all cultures were as enlightened as them.”

They arrived and their talking subsided. The two waited patiently for the delegates and personnel to arrive.

Lady Mia’s beauty was that of legend. Her flowing hair and voluptuous lips, slim figure and form fitting outfit; her splendor rivaled that of even Icarus Traiden’s niece, Kiyane. She stepped through the airlock with utter grace usually associated with birds in flight. Here shimmering radiance even caused the relatively sedate Arhtur Guilder to notice. To bad she was quite the difficult lady to get along with on a personal level.

”Arthur Guilder I presume? Quite the station you’ve managed to commandeer. Don’t worry though… I wont bother telling Command. It will be our secret.” Those with a watchful eye would’ve noticed a slight wink. Her flirtatious attitude threw Arthur off guard. He had heard terrifying stories of the “Wench Diplomat,” and yet, she was poking fun in a most informal manner. ”If you wouldn’t mind I’d like to have a word with you in your office Commander Guilder.”

Arthur gulped and glanced to Ector, who in turn glanced back with a half scared expression on his face. ”Of course,” Guilder said extending a hand, “ Right this way.”

The Farstations structure didn’t lend itself well to people who were out of shape. Indeed, if someone wished to cross the station, there was no direct path to it. The interconnected circles seemed to create a maze for those who were inside the Farstation. Eurydians are not stupid however, and the designer of the Farstation took into account this lack of mobility. There are many small shuttles located throughout the station that can ferry people back and forth between certain sections of the station. It was still a bit inefficient, but as they say, sometimes it’s “style over substance.”

Arthur and Lady Mia entered the small office which was, luckily, adjacent to the landing area. Guilder sat in his usual chair and Mia sat opposite. As they began to talk Diom interrupted.

Sir, a transmission has just been received from Auman. It appears they wish to join the meeting. Might I also add that the Spacer Guilds is still waiting for a response as to how they will attend the meeting.

Arthur nodded slowly, Mia watched. ”All right Diom, welcome the Auman ship aboard. Get in touch with the Spacer Guilds and tell them that Emperor Traiden will be giving a speech and that it can be transmitted to the Spacer Guilds ship if they wish. Also tell them that once the speech is done an Avatar of yours will come aboard to conduct a more formal meeting. I don’t know if I could stomach close to zero-g right now.”

As you wish. Guilder blinked his eyes once. The transmissions have been sent to Auman and Spacer Guilds

<<Diom to Auman>>
You are welcome to come aboard at your leisure. Eurydian fighters will escort your craft once you have come within our sovereign territory. We hope you will enjoy your stay at the Farstation.

<<Diom to Spacer Guilds>>
Emperor Traiden will be holding a teleconferenced meeting in a short while. If you wish we may link you to the meeting itself, so you may be involved with the happenings without leaving your ship. After the meeting has finished I shall come aboard to discuss more formal matters. I hope that is acceptable to you.

OOC: I don't understand why I couldn't quote those things... :x Also, referring to Spacer Guilds… what I mean is that you can take part in the meeting without leaving your ship… basically you can just post as though you were there.

The fighters touch down, and their occupants clamber out of the spacious cockpits of their ships. They are dressed in traditional Vac suits, with orange and silver visibility stripes. Many of the suits had "I was rescued by Sherpa squadron 17" knitted onto them. Some of the pilots walk over to the last two fighters and take out boxesfull of gifts for the Eastern Bloc station. Among these were large, high-quality color prints of mars, as well as the Apollo capsules and Mir, and some LRR ships. There was also the regular series of CD's and impressionist paintings, as well as a fish tank containing a Babel fish.

Subcommander Ector greeted the guests with a nod and standard Eurydian greeting. (Which, for the record, is a variation on a handshake where you clasp the person’s wrist.) He looked to the various gifts being carried onto the station. It was usually considered uncomplimentary to give a gift without asking in Eurydian culture, but Ector did not mind in the least.

”This is quite the surprise, thank you. I am afraid that we don’t really have anything to give you, save warm hospitality.” He said smiling. Ector had caught onto the whole diplomacy thing quite quickly, “If you’ll follow me the meeting hall is just a short walk away. In the mean time, how have things been in LRR. On mars, we are getting ready for the fifth annual mariachi festival. Perhaps you would like to visit it? It will take place about a week from now. As for the pirates issue, it eventually died down. Nothing much to report on the Trasnian front. However, there has been some recent pirate activity on the fringes of sol. But that is mostly under control. Diom had been watching the battles for some time now. Information was gathered and catalogued as to the danger posed by these attacking forces. Also, information pertaining to the capabilities of the ships involved was recorded; it may be needed at a later date. Diom had also kept Arthur Guilder updated as to what exactly was going on. The situation didn’t seem to be getting better, however, and it kept Arthur on edge.

Sir, the forces currently in battle are moving closer. Might I suggest we change our heading as to further ourselves from this conflict.

Arthur looked to Lady Mia, “I think this meeting is going to be a rough one. It will be difficult holding diplomatic talks on a station in proximity to a major military engagement.”

Mia nodded, ”They sure picked a fine time. I do think we should move ourselves… quickly.” There was a sense of urgency in the last word, one that Arthur picked up on.

”Indeed. Diom, fire the Ion Engines and move us away from this place. I don’t want to be anywhere near this conflict anymore.”

The lights dimmed on the small room, and the various delegates hushed their words. Ector officially announced Icarus Traiden’s arrival.

He appeared slowly. The holographic projectors came to life, and out of nowhere, Traiden’s face came into existence. It flickered for a moment as the projectors made minute changes in calibration. The rest of his body was formed soon after. It wasn’t a 100% perfect representation of the Emperor, but it certainly got the job done, considering the Farstation and Eurydice were light years apart.

Icarus looked to those in attendance and smiled, ”Thank you for coming. You are all honored guests of the Republic and I hope your stay has been altogether enjoyable. I am certainly pleased to see that an interest has been taken in our Martian endeavors. Despite conflict taking place not only 20 minutes ago, it is my belief that our stay will only bring peace and prosperity to Mars. We are readily able to get involved in Martian affairs.

Since the establishment of the Republic over 800 years ago we have worked towards intergalactic understanding and mutual peace. The journey has been an arduous one, but in the end our nation has become one of the wealthiest in our sector of space. I can say with great pride that Eurydian warships have never fired upon another nation in an act of hostility, or otherwise. We have never engaged in a violent act concerning another nation, nor have we been the recipients thereof. We have allowed, and thus been allowed to prosper and grow without the threat or worry of conflict. It is my belief that other nations can follow our lead and hopefully put a damper on interplanetary conflict.

The Republic has found that trade can be the most mutually beneficial way to begin a friendly relationship. Therefore, the Republic is willing to open its borders to unrestricted trade between certain nations on mars. This list includes, but is not limited to: Pilon, Spacer Guilds, Ravenspire, Os Sanglants, Crimmond, Roania, Lunatic Retard Robots, Auman. These nations have expressed interest in the Farstation and are therefore being considered for open trade. If any other nations wish to join up with our free trade agreement or a nation currently not on the list would like to be removed, they may contact me personally.

As for the specifics pertaining to how and to what capacity the Farstation will operate, they are quite simple. As probably assumed the Farstation will be a trade center for nations of Sol and the Eurydian Republic. In addition to that the Farstation will act as a spaceport of travelers who wish to venture to the Eurydian Republic. We have long since held our borders closely guarded, but now we shall loosen the hold, so to speak. People from different nations will be allowed to travel to the Republic on a limited basis. These two operations will work in tandem to increase the economy of the Eurydian Republic.”

He took a moment to collect his thoughts. It was the first free moment the delegates had to take in all the information being thrown at them. ”Well… now that I think about it, there’s not really much else for me to say. I will certainly answer any questions you might have.”

IC: Traiden's avatar of sorts looked to the Aumani(sp?) delegate with concern, "My, how foolish of me. It seems during the commotion concerning the battle you were ommited from the list. This oversight shall be remedied immedietly."

OOC: just noticed you referred to Emperor Traiden as a delegate... just want to clear that up. Dont want to offend the Republic's leader.

"Believe me honoured delegate, your assistance is appreciated. You will recieve much from us for your contribution. We see that our glorious nation was not included in your list good sir. Why is that?"

"We are sorry about that, comrade delegate. Its just LRR tends to be apprehensive about supporting nations with.....er.....less than stellar civil rights, no offence. But it is also our policy to aid invaded nations whenever possible if the cause is good."

Having listened to quite enough of Auman's comments the Pilonese Delegate finally spoke. "I would advise against giving any unwarranted assitance, espcially without being informed a little about Auman's past actions. Auman initiated a Martian Wide war about 50 years ago when they invaded New Roan, a protectorate of Tor Yvresse. This ended in New Roan being divided into Hellespontos County, part of the Vascilian League, and TY-New Roan, Tor Yvresse's half of New Roan. Tor Yvresse is entirely justified in attacking Auman to take back the land that was stolen by them.
Also please note that Auman initiated the Space Conflict in this war by attacking Melkor's forces unprovoked.
We advise that you do not aid Auman as doing so will only get you involved in conflicts."

Lady Mia, who had just arrived, addressed the Pilonese delegate.

"Good sir, we have no intention of helping Auman. This list is merely a statement that we will engage in open and free trade with them. I would hope that the list would eventually include thousands of nations of different beliefs and viewpoints. We are not taking sides in this, or any other conflict. We have so far helped no one... and will most likely not help anyone on either side."

"That is most wise in this instance."

"That is most wise in this instance."

"Just a few hours ago the LRR marines withdrew. We have inserted peacekeepers on the ground, but I and many others think that they'll end up the object of both sides' aggression. It also seems our marine field commanders are too stupid to honor a cease-fire."

He chuckles to himself.

"Those marines would be lucky if they came out of this in a private's uniform. But, enough about this. Perhaps you would like plans to the Hartford class resource collector?"

Emperor Traiden looked to the Pilonese delegate. "Wise indeed," He thought.

His gaze turned toward the LRR pilots, "A resource collector? If it can out perform our current collector, then yes, I'm sure we would like to see those blueprints."

(OOC:I assume you're talking to me. Sorry for the shortness of the post too, christmas break and all. )
