FOX Mysteries (Limited RP)

28-11-2003, 07:16
An Executive of the 20th Century FOX Corporation sat in his corner office. He was 65 year old Peter Welchmen, a prominent Businessman, who had been with FOX since his Collage days when he was employed as a mail room worker. His Secretary Nancy walked in and handed him a glass of water. She smiled and left the room. Peter straightened his tie, and shut off his computer. He downed the glass of water, and then took two of his Prescription Medication Tablets. He grabbed his briefcase and walked towards the door of his office. It was an expensive office as he was now a very important man in FOX; The Programing Director of the FOX Sports Channel, to be precise. He opened the large double doors to his office and nodded at his Secretary. She looked at him strangely, almost frightened, or maybe worried? He walked to the Elevator and hit the down button.

"I'll be taking next Thursday off Nancy. I have to pick out some new furniture for the new home my wife decided to buy in Tuscany." Peter said looking at his watch.

"Y-yes sir..." Nancy stuttered. "D-did you take your medication sir?"

"Yes, I did..."

"G-g-good..."

"Is something wrong Nancy?" He looked at her strangely. She just couldn't stop looking at him as though his face had sprouted an extra head.

"N-n-no sir..." She looked down and started typing on her computer keyboard.

"Are you sure?" Ding, the Elevator had arrived.

"G-g-g-go home sir..." Nancy mumbled.

"All right... If you're sure you're okay..." Peter stepped into the Elevator.

He turned around as the doors closed, Nancy had picked up the telephone, he thought he heard her say; "He's coming down..." He shrugged this off however.

Ding The Elevator halted. The doors opened and Peter walked out. "Good day" He nodded at the main receptionist as he walked towards the large automatic glass doors.

"Mister Welchmen..." A voice said from behind him.

"Yes?" He turned around to see the Executive Producer of FOX Television, Clint Maplewood. "Oh, hello sir!"

"You forgot something Welchmen..." The Executive Producer sneered at him.

"I did sir?"

"Yes... The $13 Million you embezzled from Company Funds."

Peter's eyes nearly popped out of his head, he dropped his briefcase and started to choke.

"Arrest him..." The Producer stood with a smile piercing across his face.

Someone grabbed Peter's arms and put them in hand cuffs. "I didn't... I-I..." Peter collapse onto the Marble Lobby floor of the FOX Executive Building. He felt his heart jolt in his chest.

"He's having a Stroke!" The Security Officer said as he tried to pick up Peter's jolting body... Peter was dead on arrival to the Hospital.

--

Later, the Executive Producer Clint Maplewood sat in his office, still smiling. "Sir, you have a Call on Line one... It's the Board of Directors..." His Secretary said through the intercom.

"Hello." Clint said into the speaker phone.

"Clint Maplewood..." A voice said through the phone. "We are very displeased with your inability to get Peter to confess to the Embezzlement charges. Now the company has to run a full scale investigation, and we have a dead executive. Now this scandal will become public. You didn't do your job Clint. You had to get him to Confess. Not kill him..."

"He did confess..." Clint said.

"What? That's not what the Security Officer said..."

"I have a recording of him confessing. Blatantly saying 'Yes, I did'." Clint smirked.

"Still, the dead body will have the public demand an explanation..."

"No... Just say he was found by his secretary having a stroke. We rushed him to the Hospital. He died. He confessed just before his stroke, and knew he was going to be thrown in jail forever, the sheer stress forcing him to have a stroke." Clint smiled.

"Hmmm..." The line went dead, the Board of Directors had hung up on him.

"It seems as though Clint planned this out rather well... He has the complete story worked out. I do not believe Peter Welchmen was embezzling, but Maplewood was, and framed Welchmen... The Security Guard and the Receptionist both say that Peter did not confess anything. And if Clint wasn't framing Welchmen, then why did he have such a keen story, and a recording of a 'confession' and so on..." On of the Board Members said.

"It might all be coincidence. That's really all circumstantial evidence against Clint. Clint might only be trying to protect the company. And besides, the funds were routing through Welchmen's Computer, and into Welchmen's Bank Account, and then into several European and Asian Banks, until it became impossible to track it..." Another Board Member said.

"I suggest we conduct an investigation..." Another Board Member said.

"No... It will hurt the company. You've seen what happens to other companies that are caught with embezzlers." Another Protested.

"How about we conduct our own Investigation... Away from Public Eyes, and not let anyone outside of this room know about the investigation." The Chairmen of the Board, Jonathan Anticil suggested.

"That's a good idea..." One of the Board members said.

"All right then... Know one outside of this room knows about it. We hire private investigation companies in other countries who will guarantee not to leak the story. If Clint Maplewood is found to be clean, and only trying to protect the company, we drop it, and consider case closed..."

OOC: This is where you come in. You RP a Private (Or government owned) investigation company, who sends an investigator to find out about it. There are incriminating clues against Clint Maplewood in this post. However it's all circumstantial evidence. We need cold hard proof that Maplewood did or did not do it. Therefor, as the posts unfold, you have to look for more clues. In each post will be a piece of the puzzle, or possibly just more circumstantial evidence. Or possibly, evidence incriminating someone entirely different from Maplewood. Only two nations can enter this, then it's closed. One Nation has to RP the Investigator, and the Investigation company. And the other RP's a Tabloid Reporter trying to uncover the story about Peter Welchmen's death. The Investigator better find out about it before the nosey reporter does! Or FOX will be utterly humiliated! And don't find out on the first post, the Tabloid Reporter also needs absolute proof proving who is was. Okay, I'm done rambling, role play...

OOC: All right, you may be the Investigator, as no one else has posted... Why does no one like my RP?

OOC: I like your RP, but don't want to participate. So i guess this is like a tag or something.

Oh, okay, Liverpool can be the Tabloid Reporter. Remember, the Corporation will snub you, and wont let you in the studios or buildings FOX owns. So you have to be tricky. And only use Presant day (2003) inventions. No Future stuff...

I'll post the next bit later tonight...
