GOVERNMENT
The People's Republic of Darranack is a direct democracy. It has a 120 member proportional Parliament that is elected every six months. Various proposals are voted upon within the Parliament, and if 41 members of the Parliament support them the people vote on it.
The Prime Minister of Darranack is the head of the party with the most seats in the Parliament. Rais Delmion, the head of the Progressive Party, currently occupies that post.
There are five major parties within the Parliament: the Progressive Party, the Libertarian Party, the Peace Party, the Communist Party, and the International Revolution Party.
The Progressive Party holds 43 seats in the Parliament. It has held a plurality within the Parliament since the founding of the nation. It is anti-war (though not radically so), globalist (though against corporate globalization), pro-civil liberties, and socialistic in much of its economic policy.
The Libertarian Party holds 28 seats in the Parliament. It supports a reduction in government spending in all areas and a reduction in involvement with the international community.
The Peace Party holds 18 seats in the Parliament. It is against all wars except for ones against an invading nation, and does not support attacks on the invading nation but rather expulsion of the invading nation's forces from the nation being invaded.
The Communist Party holds 14 seats in the Parliament. It adovcates more government control of businesses and greater economic equality. It is more authoritarian when it comes to civil liberties then the other parties.
The International Revolution Party holds 12 seats in the Parliament. It advocates more relationships with other communist/socialist nations and calls for a promotion of revolutions against capitalist entities across the world.
ECONOMIC POLICY
The People's Republic of Darranack has a mixed economy. Health care, housing, clothing, and food for all its citizens are all paid for completely by the government, along with the tolls necessary to use those things. There are no businesses owned by one person or multiple stockholders; rather, all businesses are owned by the workers within that business. They vote on their own wages and the policy of the business.
Income taxes are very high.
FOREIGN POLICY
The People's Republic of Darranack has a close relationship with the Federation of Militanar. Though their relationship has never extended to a military alliance, the borders between the two nations are completely open.
Darranack has always been very anti-war, and has never once enchanged in hostilities with another power. It has, however, provided a variety of forms of aid to a number of nations engaged in war.
Darranack has a policy of foreign aid to poor nations and is the Delegate to the United Nations for its region.
Darranack supports all resistance groups fighting legitimately against tyranny.
