Guys... stop messing with the new guy... I know it's fun, but come on.
Now, have you read the stickies here and in the Internation Incidents forums? If not... you should. Those list the basic guidelines for RPing on NS.
This is a FFRP(Free Form Role Play) site. You make a nation, then you interact through diplomacy and maybe after a month or two, to give you a chance to grow your nation and RP building a military, you can interact in wars and such.
Then there is the CORP(Character Oriented RP). You make a set of characters for your nation, this is usually your leader and government officials, but many people like to make regular citizens or even a wanted criminal as a character. You then interact with individuals from other nations.

explore the boards, check out the UN, change regions to something more your style, and wait for the next issue to come. Set your issues to 2/day if you want to go full-bore into NS... you'll be a more extreme political classification in notime!

I advise you to read the stickied threads at the top of the forum. Essentially, we roleplay as nations here. We create governments, national characteristics, roleplay wars and diplomacy, economics and intrigue.

Basically, use your imagination. You are the President/Prime Minister/King or Queen/Dictator of your nation. Act like you are really a head of state. Here is an example:
The door to my office knocked.
"Yes? Come in." I said. (I am the President, a young one, 18 years old.)
"Sir, we have a problem. Terrorists have taken over a boy's school, and now they're demanding that you, personally, speak to them and promise them freedom."
"Grrr. We do not negotiate with terrorists. No way, no how. Bring me to them."
"Sir, I..." my bodyguard started, but I cut him off.
"I know. But my dad did train me well, didn't he? I am not a Jedi-in-training for nothing, you know."
"Can you deflect machine gun bullets?"
I sweatdropped. "Well, I..."
"I didn't think so! Now we will protect you, whether you need it or not. Sir."
"Right. Let's go." I ordered...
