We, the People's Republic of NEWI Cefn Druids would like to announce that we are to be founder members of the Anti-Spamming League (ASL), an association of nations from various backgrounds and regions united against the selfish act of spamming to promote a region in other regions in which a nation has no interest in staying.

To try to combat this action, we will have various plans of action, with all suggestions welcome to be posted here. Our main course of action currently is to play these nations at their own game by spamming their mailbox en-masse, as to show them just how annoying they are.

To join, please feel free to send our nation a telegram or post an application here. Applications will rarely be rejected, and nations will rarely be ejected unless they either become an ex-nation or behave in ways that go against the ideas of the ASL. A panel will be set up of prominent ASL nations to judge in any cases where such an occurance is alleged to have happened.

If you do not wish to join, but would like the ASL to take acttion in any cases you might have, please feel free to contact us through the thread.

It sounds like a productive use of time.

My main suggestion is to hit the spammers where it hurts; being a computer junky I can tell you that they are prepared for a backlash, so, we much fight fire with fire.

Are you thinking along the lines of nations invading other regions and spamming here, or the common form of spamming found in everyday e-mail accounts in general? And should I put your nation down as a member down as a member?

Well if this has indeed already been done, then perhaps the ASL should be disbanded before it has left the ground. For it seems that however annoying spamming is, we are probably not really needed here.

As President of our current nation's predicessor, Flexsys Cefn Druids, from a similar period to those older nations on the thread, I can truthfully say that spamming was not a particular problem in our region, Cameroon Biscuits, for which Flexsys Cefn Druids was U.N. Delegate for the majority of it's existance. However, we were not regular visitors to the forums, so this could explain how this passed us.

Still, if you would like to form any sort of Anti-spamming alliance for protection in any such circumstances, please do not hesitate to contact us. If we gain enough support, we will continue in our mission against spammers. Perhaps it would be better to be called the Anti-Spamming Protectorate? Perhaps not. But please, if you would like to join up, please say so. Do not be vague about it.

Oh, and we are not a body fighting against spam e-mails, just against nations spamming other nations. As much as those penis extention e-mails are annoying, that is not what ASL/ASP is here for. It is primarily a body to protect the nations and regions of the NationStates universe. To actively campaign against internet spamming is a bit far fetched for a humble international organisation, despite those who believe on the contrary.
