A cargo Zeppelin en route to Portland Raysia was attacked by air pirates today, killing its crew of 42 Adidas Employees and downing their shipment of shoes and clothing with it. No one has claimed responsibility yet, but witnesses and recorders identified the following logo on the pirate aircraft:

This could be a corporate tactic to somehow boost sales by literally eliminating the competition. Police aircraft have increased patrols.

Knootian transport convoy pirated in the Pacific

A small Knootian cargoship carriying mythrill from Menelmacar to the Endless Island has been hijacked in mid-ocean yesterday by unknown pirates. The pirates took nothing and left without any gain following quick deployment by a navy ship of Ruhr that happened to be in the area. However they shot crewmember Arnold Tanus, aged 34, when he tried to resist the boarding.

Shipping corporations are expected to take measures such as convoying transports in the area. They have also asked for the government to deploy navy assets to defend commercial interests.

The government is, in turn, considering to ask the UTP-Co Defence Group to take measures. With competition on the international markets soaring due to the recession there has been little from the UTP. However a government spokesman insisted that no formal request has been made at this time however.

OOC Gah I hate to do this Knoot, but change that to from the Hermes Facilty, and I don't have Mithril. Still thats unimportant, It could be any of several rare metals, hell maybe even Mithril if it can form on other Planets or in space.

The reason for the Hermes Facilty shift is I don't have a set Location and actually reside in space, but we operate an office from the Hermes facilty with a Webgate there for transporting in materials. (and shipping stuff out of course)

OOC: I think this as good a time as any to tell you all, The Raysian Air Defense Force has no jurisdiction below 2000 feet over urban and suburban areas. Police are the only ones that can fly in the cities, and, well, they're not too great ;) So Private escort groups etc are the only people who can be trusted to guard your zeppelins and transport planes.

OOC: I only ever played the first Crimson Skies (Why didn't they bring out the sequel to the PC? WHY?!) So bear with me. I can't remeber what the X-winged planes with the rear propellers are called so I'll just call the Destructors.

We have nothing to worry about. Fly on."

"Even so, sir, considering the value of the cargo, don't you think I should radio for assistance."

The captain sighed, "Very well, notify any other vessels in the area and form a convoy. This had better not waste any time. The cargo must get through."

Commander Hilton laid down the newspaper before, lit a cigar and then sat back. The two officers sat in front of him started to reconcider their careers, however their thoughts were halted when Hilton spoke. The leader of the 3 "Fury's" radioed the zeppelin, "Good afternoon, this is Aaron Lynch, of the Finales. We heard your request, and we are offering our services. Our rate is 10 talents an hour, and 5 talents a 'kill.' If you wish to accept, please wire that advance pay of the first hour." The man in the cockpit smiled, waiting for his response... a true business man of the skies.

Dreamland Field Excersise Area 4
The 12 Wasp II screamed through the firing range, ripping 20mm rounds into the broken down T-80 hulls used for target practice. Each went in turn, spattering the vehicle with tracers. They were all Army Air Wing pilots, and veterans of the Markov war. But they were more suprised when Major Anderson showed up and gave them their new assignment.

The Leviathan sub silently made its way toward Raysia, it's bulging hull full of the Wasp IIs, logistics crew, and nervous, but ready, pilots.

Upon approaching Raysia's waters, the submarine detects 5 Su-37 E-Types hovering above the water directly over the sub. They are hailed by the leader of the group.

"Unidentified submarine vesseul, please state your Identification and purpose in Raysia."

OOC: You do know, that despit having VTOLs or helicopters, these guys will still be hard to get because they are good at hiding... they aren't stupid.

If they do have a Zeppelin nearby then odds are it'll just be a small thing, most crews use refitted light cargo runners or cruise ships.. something we can outfight. They are no danger to us, but they may be assistance. Pay them what they wish, they will be within our grasp if we feel we need a refund.

"Look, I know this seems stupid, just do it. You wanna argue with one of the world's most advanced Air forces?"
The captain grumbled and turned the radio back on.
"Ah, Ok, you tell us how to do that, and we'll get it done."
After making sure once more the radio mic was off, he looked again at the SSA Aide.
"Y'know, for a sub, this is highly unconventional."
"So is operating 12 CR/W VTOLs of off one. Welcome to the SSA, my friend."

SBW: off in the distance, you can see a modified Transport Zeppelin, similar to civillian grade, but with weapons and a small dock.

"Contact! Zepplin bearing 73 degrees! Looks combat-ready, sir."

Fullman spun to look into the distance, "Any insignia?"

(yes, they are in international waters, but it isn't hard to spot an incomming course, especially not with their Early Warning systems)

"He'd be suprised if he heard what I think him capable of. Alright, tell them to take up postion around the Monstrous and keep the Armageddon low and out of sight. If any pirate Zepplins attack it should be nimble enough to sneak around and catch them in a crossfire."

20 miles off the coast of Raysia, 0600 hours.

A fleet of around six heavy armoured Dreadnaught class battleblimps (NOTE; an improvement on the British military zeps in the PC Crimson Skies game or an improvement on the pandora in the xbox game, with the flag of SteamEarth on the side aka the Imperial Cog), with an escort of a couple of squadrons of Balmoral Light Bombers were on anti-pirate patrol duty. They were on a due eastily course headed for the Raysian coastline to hopefully stock up supplies and ammo.

Right now a couple of planes were investgating a small rocky island which had what appeared to be a wrecked zepplin along the northern shore........

The two Balmorals flew low and prepared to circle the island, however as they neared the island seaveral AA gun turrets opened up. Seaveral more planes took off from some hidden run way.

General Wilkins upon seeing this ordered for the combined air and sea fleet to move in for an attack on the island. All remaining planes on the zeps were luanch just as the pirates came in high with guns blazing.

General Wilkins barked orders at the top of this voice so that he could he heard over the dim of the battle. "Fairlane, send a message to Raysia detailing them of our current situation and that we require help in 'dealing' with the pirate outpost we've find."

The radio operator replied with a, "Yes sir," before tapping out a wireless Moss Code message, namely an 'SOS'.

Outside the warships and battleblimps continued their bombarment of the island whilst their planes dealt with the pirate planes hell bent on taking down the battleblimps.

Suspicious activities on the dockyard

A sting by Jeruselem knights captured 5 suspected spies who were scouting a local dockyard to use as a launching base for pirate attacks. An goverment agent acting as a Palentine terrorist befriended the spies and led them into a massive trap.

The leader shouted "Damn those Raysians, they will die." as he was led away into a van. The other 4 tried to escape but were incapacitated by a new chemical agent. They will be detained indefinitely until further notice.

A local Arab laughed "What a bunch of gay pirates!".

A nearby (12 miles away) RDF patrol responds to the SteamEarth call, flying 5 Su-37 E-Types towards the area.

"Looks like you guys could use some help," the leader of the 5 planes starts, "Just try not to do too much damage down there, its not like there's ONLY a pirate base down there... its also the site of one of our larger uranium mines, as well as Iron and Coal... you drop too much ordinance down the wrong pipes there and you're going to have a LOT of colatteral damage."
