Xanthalian economy hits the glass floor.
After halting nearly all of it's outside trade, Xanthal's economy has been downgraded from All-Consuming to Thriving. Xanthalian officials say that the los in income will be offset by the expenses cut by the removal of over 1,000 cargo vessels and 200 space stations related to trade. Also, the decrease in traffic has allowed for a 50% cut of police patrols along cross-system transport lanes and a 25% cut of ground-based police forces.

Yep. It's not a good thing, but it makes things a lot less complicated for our centralized government. It was a blow we're willing to take. Besides, in case you haven't noticed, the Xanthalians' glass floor in economy is pretty damn high. We've put in a lot of safeguards since our early "reasonable" economy days.
