<Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> was amazed, well a little. Not a kilometer down to the south was a small town of no more than some six-thousand people and the only way to get or leave the place within an acceptable time schedule would be to use the train tunnels that were on either side of the maintenance tunnel she //it was walking through.

The train tunnels ran through a mountain and halfway above the tunnel was a mountain lake. Traveling over the mountains would take days by foot, and there were no real roads that vehicles could use, to many accidents in the past made sure no one tried either.

Such ‘strategically’ important places distinctly needed some more security. Tugging on the orange jumpsuit she//it wore the brunette looked around her//it. No security such as personall or even camera’s. And there were only two other people in the tunnel, two real maintenance personal members who wore the same kind of jumpsuit she did… They didn’t even bother to check out the new girl transferred to their workplace for any identification.

Ah well, only meant she//it could eat that cheeseburger she//it been thinking about since this morning. Waving to the two men as she//it passed them, <Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> stepped into a small card that the maintenance personal used and began to drive down the tunnel.

It took an while but eventually she//it reached the part of the tunnel that laid directly beneath the mountain lake. Stepping our of the card, she//it walked over to one of the sides of the maintenance tunnel and began to climb up an ladder that lead up to a crawlspace that also served as an ventilation shaft for the tunnel.
Entering the small space, she//it shivered at the sudden blast of much cooler air being send past her and with some awkwardness took of the backpack she//it had been wearing.
Opening the bag she//it took out what seemed to be a square block with a led display and a basic number interface on it as well as cables going out and back into it at random places.

Inputting the time frame as well as the requirements for activation, she//it daintily let her fingers dance over the controls. When finished she//it gave a little smirk, grabbed the backpack and began to head out of the crawling space.

As <Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> drove back to the tunnel entrance, she//it idly wondered what would kill the most people in the train that would activate the bomb, the explosion itself? The debris of the tunnel wall being send flying around… Most likely the torrent of water that would come down crashing and de-railing the train (if that had not happened yet) and drowning whoever had survived rather than either explosion or debris.
She//it felt like her//its heart fluttered at those thoughts… Human\\animal bodies are so strange.

Bertrand Cutler smiled as he looked at the small fluffy toy he held in his hands. It was one of those ‘smart’ toys that were so popular these days and that kids went crazy over. He himself had been toying with it himself already and was sure he about to teach it how to say ‘hello’…. He had to test if it worked before he gave it to his niece for her birthday. Chuckling he was about to start talking to the little thing again when the whole train shook and groaned and he could hear an terrifying rumble some where up ahead.
He heard several people gasp a few even shrieked in shock while others could be heard wondering whether an earthquake had struck, not a second later they were all slammed forward out of their seats as the train slammed into something, some people killed instantly by the violence of the impact.
Bertrand groaned in pain and rubbed his forehead that had hit the cabin wall, moving back into his seat, uncertain of what was happening, he looked up just in time to see a tidal wave of water shattering through the glass window.

The little smart toy ‘watched’ on with its innocent looking face and unblinking eyes as everybody onboard the train was killed.

((OOC: Alright. Any human *or predominantly human* nation who is either of modern or near future tech may claim that that this happened within their nation. I want to role-play out the events that will happen in the small town that is now cut off from the outside world and that has six Cybrids posing as humans inside it trying to carefully spread as much as possible terror and paranoia as possible for their test.

EDIT: This is ofcourse not done within an allied nation. Just making clear. :P
Hope this will be a fun rp.))

You know, i would probably have endorsed it in a suburban shanty town...

((OOC: True. But that would not have carried the same tone. Besides, a suburban shanty town is so hard to cut off from the rest of the world. Will remember it for future testing though, this is only test number one afterall. ))

Sioban had just finished stacking the clean dishes on the shelf when she herd her husband calling for her in distress. He was standing in the street down which there was now an ample stream of water. It wasn't raining. She crossed to where he was standing, with his arm outstretched, pointing towards the mountain. there was a thin black cloud of dust ascending over it. Sioban didn't understand... not for a minute or two anyway...

By the time the bomb had gone off, <Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> had long since reached the small town and headed for a diner where she had been joined by one of her squad members.
“Had a good day at work?” The blonde man asked her as he sat down in front of her and looked around the establishment with a disdainful look.

The two almost seemed to come from different worlds. A brunette woman dressed in casual clothes and slouching back into her seat while eating a whole load of junk food with an gusto.
The blonde man on the other hand was dressed in a business suit, sat ram rod straight in his seat and kept looking around the room with a uncomfortable expression, keeping his gloved hands carefully within his lap as if the thought of touching the table made him ill.

“Yep. Finished all the repairs, was a little chilly though. The boss was a bit pushy though, trying to get me to hurry up even though I was well on schedule.”

The blonde man stared at <Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> with a confused look before comprehension dawned on his face. “Ah yes. The ‘boss’. Well time was of the essence for your repairs…. And how can you eat that? Much better to stick with plant based food. It is less prone to contain substances that are detrimental to your condition.”

<Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> looked at her mission’s Beta unit, <Harbinger\\Alex Fall> and grinned. “Alex, you need to learn to relax more. Such an unique opportunity we have and your not even willing to enjoy it, I mean it’s not like these bodies are going to last forever anyway… Ah, look at the time, nearly half seven, I got a feeling the news is going to be interesting tonight.”

Finishing her cheeseburger, and grabbing her chocolate milkshake, <Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark> turned to look at the television that hang from the ceiling behind the counter.

The people didn´t yet know about the explosion, it was actually quite hard to hear.

Most people actually hearing something thought it`s the sound of a thunderstorm coming near.

After all, it was summer, and thunderstorms happened quite regulary.

It was a child, Max Gruber, who found out about what really happened. Of course, he could`t possibly know about the victims inside the tunnel...

But hours later, the entire town knew that the tunnel was flooded.

[ooc: okok, i know, it`s extremely short. Will write a long post including messages from outside etc.. tomorrow. *tired*]

In the Monetistani capital, people were busy.

That included the ministry for the interior:

"What the hell happened there?" The minister yelled, angry.
"We... well, it seems the tunnel to Crapa Town has been flooded... They`re cut from the rest of Monetistan."
"This... this... BRING ME THE FRIGGIN ENGINEER RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS!"

---

Meanwhile, in Crapa:

"Ok. So , our possibility to travel to the rest of Monetistan has been... disabled, correct?"
"Well, yes. We need to inform the people as fast as possible."
"True. But prevent a panic. We have enough supplies stored here. It will be enough until help arrives."
"Yes. Btw..." The Mayor`s secretary hesitated.
"Yes? What is it?"
"It seems like a train was inside the tunnel when this happened. It´s.... unlikely there are any survivors."
"Oh my god..." The mayor sat down, looking shocked. "I didn`t know... it`s horrible."
"That it is. I guess we need to inform the relatives..."
"Yes... yes..."

---

"Oh my god..." Marie Heinrichs was shocked. Her husband... dead... They married just about a year ago.
"I... How... this can`t be..." She watched the Reverend, hoping it was just... a bad joke, or whatever. Just not... not... the truth. But he shaked his head. "I know... it`s... horrible. But we can`t change it. Let`s pray for his soul, may god have mercy with him."
Marie looked down. Their daughter. One more months until she would be born.
Without a father.
Marie bursted into tears, unable to control herself.

However, in other parts of the city, the people were more amused by the events.

"Well, yes, it will take them some time to clean the mess... But i think in a week... yes, in a week it should be ok. Perhaps a months, but hey... They can bring us food with helicopters, can`t they?"

And most people were sure it was true.

Of course, the foreigners, the tourists... well, they wouldn´t like it.

But then, shit happens.

Not a single one of them knew that not all tourists were really tourists...

Located within the same mountains, yet far enough from the collapsed train tunnel, the large mobile nexus had dug itself deep under a small layer of rocks and perpetual snow where it hid itself from any potential peering eyes, as it continued it’s work of directing the six Cybrids as well as to send reports to Inquisitor Sect and the Provocateur Sect back on the Cybrid nation.

Primary mission initiator achieved; The city//flock <Crapa> has been severed//amputated//cut from the rest of the human\\animals.

<We> are free to continue <our> operation without interference of <our> test.

Mission objectives;
Primary: Test Trojan Horse disguises//vessels.
Secondary: Spread the biological weaknesses; Fear, paranoia.
Tertiary: Maximum possible damage on infrastructure and human\\animal numbers.

==========

As the first local news reports on the tragedy at the tunnel began to air, followed closely by the two Cybrids at the little diner, another two Cybrids began to do their own work, unlike <Skin-Wrapper\\Joan Dark>, they found their work to be much more challenging.

With a city of several thousands of people, it was only understandable that the water processing and cleaning plant was important, large amounts of workers as well as several security officers worked night and day so that the facility could work unhindered.

<Optical-Delusion\\John Mengsk> and <Thinks-as-Light\\Hannah Ketter> found themselves to be both suffering from minor concern as they watched at the fenced facility a few hundred meters away from the hill they sat on. Seeming like they were simply relaxing in the sun.

“This might be… tricky.” John spoke more to himself than to Hannah, a trait he had began to develop ever since his artificial brain had been placed in the human body. “Our bodies are only above average in abilities; at least we know the layout of the place. Would be easier if we were allowed to kill anyone that stood in our way.”

Hannah stared at John as if he had gone mad before shaking her head and letting her arms and chin rest on her drawn up knee’s.
“If we kill someone, they will know that what is going to happen is the result of artificial forces, rather than pure and simply bad luck. We will not kill any guard of worker…”
She paused for a moment before speaking again, her eyes never leaving the water treatment plant.
“Tonight when it’s dark we move in. There will be less workers who might notice us and the cover of night will be an obvious advantage to us.”

“Fine by me. But we should have taken a more terminal virus. What’s the point in making people severely ill?”

“The virus is meant to cause more fear and paranoia. Besides, it will be deadly to the newboots… newborns as well as any one in a bad physical condition. But it will leave enough alive to continue our test.”

John was about to open his mouth again, but decided that Hannah's answers were suffient for his curiousity. Letting himself lie back, he simply took the time to experience the sun on his skin till the night fell.

Sioban was in fits of tears, her son, dead, beyond life, and for what, an accident, she could not turn anywhere with ought facing the torrent of grief, her husband, had just left in the car to get to work at the Water Treatment Plant [ooc: subtle as a pregnant hippopotamus] he was only after recovering from a dose of the winter flu and his employers couldn't offer him any more time off, no matter how serious the circumstances. Sioban sat in the room and cried, she cried until she fell asleep, unchosious from grief.
26-11-2003, 11:55
((OOC: LOL!))

Night had come slowly but asuredly and now both John Mensk and Hannah Ketter found themselves sneaking carefully through the water treatment plant. Getting over the fence was easy enough, all that was needed as patience, but now they would have to cross the terrain as well as go up to reach the central water treatment tank.

Hiding on the outer edge of the water treatment grounds, the two Cybrids carefully peered past a set of thick pipes that conneced several smaller basins.

Max walked past the pipes.

It was a horrible job. Boring, and not in any way challenging.

It was night, and the only thing one could hear was the gurgling water.

He thought about the accident in the tunnel.

I wonder how it was like...

Somehow, he enjoyed the thought of a few hundred people condemed to a horrible, cruel death. Payment for his miserable life, a life he blamed almost everyone but himself for.

Tsk. If there would be some terrorists attacking... that would be interesting. Heck, i could become a hero.

Slowly, he walked away...

Sioban was in a kind of shock, she sat watching one of the music channels on the TV, she couldent even really think anymore, watching ther glittery pop, on the screen, it should remind her of her son, but she didnt really see the bands. she just saw the patterns, and the colour. Held in mental stasis, her thoughts seemed hollow, as if she was waiting for somthing, the return of her son, or her own death, anything.
but all she saw was colours.

ooc: "Heck, i could become a hero." ... such cheese was never ment for human consumption :P
29-11-2003, 00:34
((OOC: Right sorry for the short absence, had to study for exams. Further more, I had a post, but for some reason it didn't post. Drat.))

Considering how little experience they had with their human bodies, Hannah and John still managed to remain surprisingly silent as they crossed the water treatment plants grounds.

Sneaking carefully past the pipes and buildings, they slowly but surely managed to cross a fair distance and finally reached the ramp that lead up to the gangwalk that allowed the direct access over the water tanks.

Eager to get this over with, John was about to head for the ramp before Hannah grabbed his vest and pulled him back to the building they were hiding at.
Just in time as a employe came walking on, looking morose and somewhat introspective.
Unable to do anything but wait, they stayed silent and wait for the man to leave, and if luck would have it not find them

Ok, this round is done. Heck, as if someone would try anything here.

Max turned around, and went away, back to his office.

Time for a bit of coffee...

He did not know, yet, what mistake he made.

However, he did notice something... he just didn´t know what it was, nor was he interested in it.

Not yet...
05-12-2003, 21:53
Seeing the guard walk away again, the two Cybrids waited a little longer before walking up the gangway. Once they reached the primary water treatment tank, Hannah took a small metal box from a pocket on her pants and opened it to reveal an small vial filled with a clear liquid.

"Hurry up, no telling when a guard comes up here to check. Besides, the smell of this water is making me sick." John hissed softly to his partner as she opened the vial and poured it's contents into the large vat, putting the vial and box back in her pocket when the almost insignificant ammount of liquid had joined the water, unnoticed in the cover of darknes.

With their task done, the two hastily made their way to leave the water treatment plant.

The virus would have fully spread through the water reserves come tomorrow, while the death toll would most likely be low, it should non the less add to the fear and worry of the people of the small town.
