Eulalia makes International Solidarity Speech

OOC: AND THIS TIME, DON'T SPAM IT UP, YOU NINCOMPOOPS! Or else... *traces line across throat* GGGKKKKHHHTT!

We are all children of the universe!

The same star-stuff that makes up the objects of the cosmos, and the earth beneath our feet, or the metal hulls around us, or the little glowing suns above us, are also flowing through our veins, no matter the political ideology, no matter the race, no matter the society, no matter the government. Like it or not, we are all part of this one, great, dynamic universe. Like the force of gravity, like the force of magnetism, like the light of the furthest quasar or the closest sun, like moon, the stars and the planets, we are all connected to one another in more ways than we can possibly imagine.

We are all children of this world, of this universe!

We are all part of a vast, interconnecting web, and each of us contributes something to something far greater, even by simply living, we may change the course of the future. This can be for the better - one of us may become the discoverer of some new revolutionary medicine, or the explorer that finds a way to forge the distance between galaxies, or the caregiver and free thinker that changes the tides of society forever. Or it can be for the worse. If we are all part of a web, a vast living web of all wonderful living and thinking things, then everything we do affects another in some way.

So let's be brothers and sisters, children of the universe!

If we can all affect the future, and the present to one way or another, then by doing a little good ourselves, we can, with our collective efforts, change the tide of history forever! No doubt, you have heard of the strength of the nations these days, the people who can destroy entire societies with one fiery blast of plasma from the sky, the people who can blanket the sky in darkness, the people who can manipulate gravity to shred apart moons and planets, the people who can, with a touch of a button, engulf the world in nuclear fire. If we are so powerful, then why don't we use this power for good, and not for evil? Are we not strong?

These are strong hands!

With these hands, these claws, these manipulators, tentacles, wings, energy pulses, mineral accretions, and all the other billion ways of manipulating the world around us, we can build! We are strong! Together we are infinitely stronger than if we are divided.

So why do we fight, brothers and sisters of the universe? Are we not all children?

What do we use our strength for? Should we make fists with these strong hands? Or shall we make friends? Why should we tire ourselves with bitter fighting, with no regards to our future, to the future of our children and our offspring? I say no. I think we are strong enough to have the power to say "no" and turn away. I think we are strong enough to take a blow and not strike back in anger or hate, but strong enough to continue to forgive and be merciful and loving enough to be willing to forget and pardon. I think we are strong enough to forge not only cease-fires, nonaggression pacts, or treaties. I think we are strong enough to forge alliances - with everyone!

We are strong! These are strong hands, fellow children of the universe, that we wield!

With these strong hands we shall change our world, and with our strong hearts, we can change our minds. With these strong hands we can build our world, and with our strong hearts we can explore the universe! For you see, fellow children, the universe is ours! All ours! Every scolopendran, every menelmacari, every orc, elf, troll, wizard, dragon, artificial or electronic intelligence, extraterrestrial, fairy, sprite, nymph, dwarf, silicate, halfling or hobbit lives, breathes, and uses this universe, so we are all entitled equally to it. We can do this - together!

So forget your hatreds, your divisions, your numbness, your deafness, your blindness, your malevolence, your anger, your fear. So forget your bombs, your tanks, your guns, your spaceships, your fortresses, your missiles, your submarines and your battleships. And look at your hands. Look at the hands of your people!

They are strong!

We are strong!

And we can best express our strength not by fighting with each other, and tiring each other down, and destroying our own mother earth and our own mother universe, but by working together, by willing to forgive and love one another, and embrace one another as bright children of the universe! For we are all part of the same thing, the same star-stuff runs through our bodies. We are all part of the same universe, we are all brothers and sisters, and together, united, undivided, we shall rejoice!

Eulalia speaks of the strength of our hands. Yet her words, those intangible words, are stronger even still. Her speech marks the maturity of a great statesperson. Yes, human -- sentient -- potential is infinite. It is so simple. If we resolve to live the vision of Eulalia, then we can live it.

I'm sorry to say it, but this is pure fiction. Being good requires effort, and not everyone is willing to put forth that effort. Many people like to be lazy and sulk into their natural tendancies... if you are suggesting a way of universal peace, then I have to say that it is impossible.

OOC NOTE: Most of the time, whenever I say the word Natural, it's usually synonymous with Evil... usually... there are some exceptions

Millions across the world could resolve to live the vision of Eulalia, but billions will simply use the newfound nicety of others to their own twisted ends. Read: GDODAD! Look at the world around you before you agree to loving everyone.

Eulalia replies kindly, gently, in her musical contralto, her voice full of compassion and love:

"I don't make distinctions between who is in what alliance, or who hates whom. I don't hate entire groups, just because they have disillusioned leaders. You cannot judge the character of a peoples, by the words of their leaders. I love everyone equally, for is being human not enough to deserve my love?"

Do you love people who hate others and destroy them purely based on inconsequential elements like race or religion? How can you love those who oppress and trample upon the basic human rights of others?

As the chosen representative of the Tairawhiti Diplomatic corps, I wish to offer my most profound apologies over the previous post apparently from our nation. It appears external agents are masquerading as members of the Tarawhiti ruling body and posting disparaging messages denegrating other cultures and beliefs in order to discredit our nation.

Rest assured that such views are far from the high esteem that the general populace hold the speech made by the honorable Eulalia, and indeed the entire Freebodnik V people. All efforts to find the culprits will be made and appropriate measures shall be taken.

yours humbly

- Dergat Timb, Tairawhiti Diplomatic corps.

Nice speech, though my factsheet says that your economy is 'Struggling'. Perhaps the recession hit your nation too? How is Freebodnik going to cope? And how can you live up to your words if your people are starving?

You have to ask yourself: isn't it time for a liberalisation of Freebodnik?

But Freebodnik V is liberal! We would never think of denying any citizen's right to free speech or their right to do what they wish with their bodies. Our economy is perfectly fine - if you mean that we are able to produce enough to feed ourselves, to support a high standard of living, and do so equally and fairly. Simply because we are considered 'struggling' or even 'imploded' by the United Nations, due to our abolition of money and private property, does not mean that we are starving and dying. Rather, our economy is based upon the principles of community, and brotherhood. We try to better ourselves and each other. We can do it together. We all live on small communities of no more than two hundred people, in which ownership is communal - everyone has fair share to everything, every service and object is owned not by any state body or assembly, but in the hands of the people themselves.

We live by the standard of "The Economy in the hands of the State, and the State in the hands of the People".

Simply because we do not have the same standards as you, does not mean that we can do any less than you. We're simply different that's all.

Are you going to ignore the Sultan's question? That seems mighty uncompassionate for a lovey-dovey nation like yours...Here it is again, in case I'm off base and you just missed it.

Do you love people who hate others and destroy them purely based on inconsequential elements like race or religion? How can you love those who oppress and trample upon the basic human rights of others?
26-11-2003, 02:47
What beautiful words that Eulalia has spoken, much like the words of peace and tolerance that Jesus, the Holy Son of God spoke to his Apostles. However the peoples of Teritora and Tordor have forgotton such words of peace and now they try to invade Mezoprincapala itself just to murder me in the House of God. How can we stand against such reckless hate? Are we forced to stand alone wishing for peace and joy for God's children? What other tests will God put before us to ensure our faith is not weak but strong like steel? Only Time and God's Will can tell.

His Holiness, Pope Ali I

OOC: Willya give me a break? I'm answering these in computer class - when I have actually WORK to do! I'm only one high-school student!

"To the Sultan's question, I say YES! I love them as much as any other human being. Can you not see that there is no such thing as a barbarian or a cold, heartless snake? I love them because all human beings can make mistakes - they are merely misguided. I love them for their misguidance, for their regretful mistakes, for their ignorance. I want to hold them to my breast and heal the hurt inside, and hold their hands tight and say that they are loved in this world and that they needn't hurt any more. I want to teach them the right way, the way of justice, of equality and good, because I love them just the same."

27-11-2003, 04:33
The Empire of Treznor applauds the ideals of First-Speaker-In-Training Eulalia. We have continually lobbied for peace throughout the world, because war is, frankly, wasteful. War frequently serves as a release valve for human emotions and shortcomings, but more often is merely the consequence of the greed of men and women without the foresight to avoid messy entanglements. Whereas war is typically the last step in a series of diplomatic breakdowns, war is altogether too common in modern society for our taste.

Having said that, we are hardly going to dismantle our armed forces or discontinue research in ways to improve our national defence. While we espouse the path of peace, we are prepared to defend it as necessary. We support the fine words of the representative of the Community of Freebodnik V, but we will not assume anyone else will. We will welcome the embrace of our brothers and sisters when it can be proven it does not herald a knife in the back.
