TNW Top of the Hour Bulltein.

"... this move follows an escalation of tensions between the CACE and Knootoss over the status of the new Knootian colony off the coast of Skargarden and is seen as a potential way to ease the tension.
We remind our viewers that the Grand Duchy is directly concerned, since elements of the TNDF are also participating in the SATO led exercises in Skargarden, exercises which initially sparked the overmeasured hostile reaction from CACE nations.

In other news, the Department of Healthcare has finally won the "Fast Food" case in front of the Council of Duchy.

Let us remind our viewers that this case began two months ago, after the Department of Healthcare published an increasing obesity figure for the population of the Grand Duchy. The people suffering from obesity now compose 3% out of the actual population, as opposed to 1% not so long ago. The figures would have been much higher, if not for the public sports and healthcare programs initiated by the Departments of Education and Healthcare, which permitted to keep out citizens healthy.

Two months ago, the Department of Education has presented a report in front of the Council of Duchy, in which it showed it current figures and blamed the Fast Food chains for 'obesiting' the Taraskovyan people and demanded that all Fast Food chains cease operations on the territory of the Grand Duchy.

After carefull deliberation and consultation from various Consultative Committees, the Concil of Duchy has given the go ahead for the dismantelling of the chain of both foreign and domestic based Fast Foods currently operating on the territory of the Grand Duchy, a measure approved by the High Council of Duchy, which voted unanimously in support of the closing of the Fast Food Restaurants.

The Department of Healthcare has fixed the goal to drop the obesity level from 3% back to 1% in the course of the following year.

And now, our sports rubrique...

Good, hopefully you will ban all meat and animal products next as what right do humans have to hurt the timid forest creatures for comforts that distract from the teachings of the Goddess?

ABC:

A rather bold woman steps out of a 'Bold is Beautiful!" Fast food restaurant and stops in front of the cameras.

"Angstians, Fast food lovers, Sentients!

Today is a sad day. The Grand Duchy of Tarasovka decided to ban fast food.

They say it`s bad for your health. They say it`s responsible for obesity!"

The crows, mainly fairly bold men and women, but also many children waving 'BiB' flags and balloons, wearing BiB T- Shirts etc. seems to be shocked, yes, even a bit angry. How dare they! Thats lies!

"Of course it´s all lies! Bold is Beautiful is known for using only the healthiest products in it`s restaurants! The accusion consuming our food results in cancer have never been proven, and it will stay like this! It´s the truth, we are healthy, even Prof. Dr. Matthew realised it, just hours before he had his tragic car accident..."

For a moment, she is silent, seemingly mourning.

"In any case, we can assure you that this decision is ridiculous! OUr food is SAFE! As a proof, i will NOW eat a BiB Burger!"

She takes a burger, and takes a single bite from it.

"As i ummm... said... grrmbl.... *cough* Good day!"

She leaves the field of view the cameras and the cheering audience have. As soon as she is sure nobody can see her, she throws the burger in the next trash can and spits out the piece of it she nearly swallowed.

"Omg... that will cost me a year of my life..."

We are pleased that these fast-food outlets are eliminated from your country. The quality of their food is like an elephant sat on your meal and broke wind before they served it to you.

...In other news, following the banning of 'fast food' in the Grand Duchy of Tarasovka, several Ravenspire-owned chains with franchises in that nation have quickly shifted to sit-down service in order to reclassify themselves as 'diners' or 'full-service restaurants.' George Demerot, CEO of LoCo, owners of the Jenny's chain (home of the popular triple-meat burger), claims that impacts on profits are expected to be "minimal, in the long run," though he concedes that "remodeling expenses may significantly impact this quarter."

The velocity of nutrition
By our special reporter

Over in the Grand Duchy of Tarasovka, fast food has been banned. But why ban? Here in the village of Maliana, fed-up diners have started an international "slow food" movement.

What's slow food? We asked Bi Ar Dee, leader of the slow food movement.

"Well, first off, we aren't a movement," she replied. "But the Nonmovement's principles are simple. Food should be prepared lovingly, with care and precision. Fresh whole foods, not processed foods, prepared from start to finish under one roof. Take your time. Linger. Forget the consumer frenzy, sit back, and take the time to enjoy your meal."

Already twelve villages have signed the Slow Food manifesto. And in the village of Findabaya, head woman Warung Agus is hosting a round-the-clok meal expected to last at least four days. Slow food indeed!

TVC fully supports the initiative taken by GDT. Because of certain financial interests we cannot follow their example, but the proud Taraskovyans have our respect and moral support.

The Menelmacari/Lavenrunzian chain Porkwich's, home of the Big Porker, will be following the Jenny's lead in shifting our business model for our Tarasovkyan operations. We will be offering the same great food, in a full-restaurant, sit-down-service setting. Interestingly, this will make a fine pilot project for the possibility of implementing full-restaurant editions of Porkwich's in our other markets.

TNW Top of the Hour Bulletin.

"Today it has been reported that TISD special forces have raided several locations, suspected to be harbouring 'black Fast Foods'. This follows a statement by a Taraskovyan Fast Food addict(one of the 1% of the total population actually) in a Court building, where he declared that, quoting:

"If you do not recall the ban on Fast Food chains, I will go to the warehous in the Vigvar docks!"

End of quote. Needless to say the man was immediately rounded up by policemen and interrogated. The TISD then launched a full scale 'intervention' all over the Grand Duchy.

The TISD has rounded up a dozen of suspects all over the Grand Duchy, confiscating loads of Cheeseburgers and BigMacs and storing them as 'material proof'...

CNS

Spokespersons from the Defence Forces and the Border Patrols in the Utharian Peninsula have confirmed the apprehension of a group of smugglers near the northern border, where The Grand Duchy of Tarasovka and The Vortex Corporation touch each other. The group of approximately 50 individuals, mostly male, was caught red handed trying to smuggle forbidden wares into GDT territory.

After a short period of interrogations behind closed doors, several members of the group admitted their intention to sell their cargo, several trucks full of junkfood, on the GDT black markets. Following this confession, all twelve trucks that they were trying to get across the border were confiscated. Two hours later, further interrogation of what seemed to be the leaders of the group revealed the name of their contact. Apparently, two security guards had allowed them to take their wares from a storage facility near the border, in exchange for a piece of the profit. Both suspects were apprehended by Fast Response Teams and admitted their crimes soon after.

Due to the free trade, and free traffic of capital, persons and goods and services, Corporate officials have come to the conclusion that more attempts to perform similar actions will be undertaken by international smugglers. Border patrols have been increases, and random samples of international traffic are being scanned for their contents by aerodyne patrols. The Vortex Corporation fully supports the initiative of GDT, and will not allow groups of criminals to break their new laws.

The very food type and the way of preparing the 'Fast Food' are banned. Etc. Etc.

(OOC: Now...in RL how could anyone take a statement like that seriously? None of these things...authoritarian monarchy, secret services, military etc. would eliminate crime completely...in fact, your secret service and military and police would probably BE the organised crime.
There is never going to be no organised crime as long as there is money and some people have more than others...period!)
