Her Divine Shadow... (Pantheon Story/Invite only RP)

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\
10 Years After the Formation of the KSSDF...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*The mining driller dug through the rock solid wall, searching for veins of uranium or other usable ores. Other miners, most of them Nekos, with a few Realians here and there, worked around the driller, moving large chucks of rocks out of the way and smashing ones too big to move. Ultor Corporation guards stood watch, their blue H.E.V. Suits clearly distinguishing them from the red suited miners.
*Suddenly, part of the rock surface the driller was drilling crumbled, giving way to an open, wide chamber. Both miners and guards stopped what they were doing, looking on with confusion into the chamber beyond. A single guard finally regained his sense and ran forward, shouting for the driller to back up. It did, and the single neko slipped past, standing on edge. The underground chamber was wide, the ceiling rising high up, and the floor was about twenty feet down. It was roughly egg shaped, the walls curved.
*Pulling out a pair of binoculars, the guard scanned the cavern, and found resting at the bottom some sort of altar, and a statue of what appeared to be Goddess Cori in front of the altar, but... There was something wrong, it looked like her, but yet, something in his gut told him it wasn't. A sense of evil and malice radiated from the statue, sending a shiver down the neko's spine. He scanned the altar again, and saw a skeletal corpse laying on it. It was impossible to tell at this range weather the corpse was neko or human.*

Guard 2: "Tim, what do you see?"

*Another guard asked the first.*

Tim: "A statue of... I think it's the Goddess Cori, but... It's like an evil Goddess Cori..."

Guard 2: "Goddess Cori, Evil? No way..."

Tim: "There's also an altar in front of the statue... Someone get me some rope! I'm going down! And Parker, go topside and get the KSSDF over here."

*He waited for his orders to be carried out. A Realian brought him a long length of rope, and helped him secure one end to the Driller. The other guard had hurried off down the tunnel to get topside and involve the KSSDF of this find.*

Parker: "But... Why the KSSDF?"

*Tim, with both feet firmly on the inward curving wall, began to rappel/walk down the wall until he was at the bottom. Once there, he switches on his Envorniment Suit's flashlight, the beam of light playing over the chamber. Looking around, he spots what looks like a tunnel leading from this chamber further down. He'd investigate it later. But first, the statue. Walking towards it cautiusly, he reaches the statue of the Goddess Cori in the center of the chamber, and examines it closely. A gasp escaped his lips. It was Goddess Cori, but her facial expression was of evil looking and fear inducing, not at all like the ones he had seen elsewhere. A cold shudder ran up and down Tim's spine, and his hand reached for his 12mm Pistol by instinct. Turning around, next he looked at the altar. He could see now the skeleton was one belonging to a neko, and there was something... Was that a rusted knife sticking out of it's rib cage? And the top of the altar was in the shape of a weird symbol, mostly likely demonic in purpose. Was this skeleton... A Neko Sacrifice?! Tim felt very uncomfortable, and yelped in surprise when his com sprang to life.*

Parker: "Tim! I called the KSSDF. What did you find?"

Tim: "It's a fricking evil Goddess Cori statue! And... A skeleton of a neko, looks like it was sacrificed..."

*He saw movement out of the corner of his eye, and spun to face it, whipping out his 12mm Pistol.*

Tim: "Who's there?!"

*There was nothing, just the sand colored wall of the chamber. His breathing heavy, Tim turned to go back to the rope, looking upon the statue one more time, and all the color drained out of his face. The statues eyes had moved! First the eyes were just staring straight ahead, now they were focused on Tim. But... The statue was made of marble, how could it do that? This was getting too weird for the guard, and so without wasting another second he bolted for the lenght of rope, not noticing the gray mist drifting out from the tunnel he saw eariler. Grabbing hold of the rope with both hands, Tim pulled himself up a few feet then placed his feet on the wall, using the balls of his toe to push himself up, a combination of walking and climbing. He was too busy trying to get out to notice the mist steadily pouring from the tunnel and filling the lower parts of the chamber...*

((OOC2: Oooooh! The plot thickens, the mystery deepens, and Tim flees like a litle girl! :P))
23-11-2003, 19:21
*Tim pulled himself up through the large hole created by the driller using his upper body strength, swinging up one leg to hook it over the edge. A pair of Realians miners help him up. Standing to his feet, Tim turns around and looks back down, his jaw dropping as he saw the mist.*

Tim: "What's... Going on?!"

Parker: "Tim! Let's get all these miners out of here."

Tim: "Right..."

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\
Hours Later...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*A Platoon of four Metal Fakes equipped with crowd control gear† stood watch over the dig site, a team of archeologists working to dig down above where they approximated the chamber the Ultor Miners had found. According to reports from one of the guards, this could be an important religious find is. There were only five statues of the Goddess Cori in all of Krowemoh, six now including this one. And no matter how hard sculptors tried, no one could create another statue. The team was comprised entirely of Krowemohians, there wasn't a single Realian in sight. Well, there were four, but they were Mech Warrior Grades and their sole purpose was to guard against intruders. The Command and Control Vehicle was nearby, sensors at full.
*A bit further away was a black limo. A dark skinned male Neko in a blue suit walked up to the limo, and one of the rear windows rolled down, revealing the face of Prince Rufus Mew.*

Rufus Mew: "Rude, I want to be kept up to date on what happens me. Alert me as soon as anything happens."

*Having gave his command, he rolls the window back up and the limo drives off, returning to the Htam and the Shin-Ra Tower.*

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\
Later That Night...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*After working for much the day, the archeologists had finally managed to breach the outer shell of the chamber. The blue suited Neko was informed and he called up Rufus Mew, and told him of the progress.*

Archeologist: "We're getting ready to go down now."

*One of the Nekos told Rude of the Turks. With that the archeologist and a few others donned facemasks and set up a crane which would lower them down.
*One would expect chatter from the four Metal Fakes, but surprisingly, there was none. The Realians were busy doing their duties to chit-chat with each other. However, the Nekos in the C&C Vehicle suffered no such dilemma.*

Murai: "I heard it's a statue of the Goddess Cori."

*A raven haired female Neko said to the other five in the C&C Vehicle with her. She appeared to be the youngest.*

Uriko: "Hmmph... You can bet that the government's gonna take it away and put it somewhere. You know, we sure don't pay enough respect to Cori. No wonder she hasn't shown herself in all this time."

*A blonde Neko replied. She was taller then Murai. Everyone was taller then Murai.*

Murai: "You think we should put it on public display?"

Hiro: "Yeah. I mean, there aren't even statues of Her in church! The only place we can see Her is in the Shin-Ra Tower, or that temple north of the Tower, and I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to travel to the Capital every week to pray to Her. Takes too much time."

*The brown haired male Neko sitting between the two females tossed in his two Tidercs.*

Uriko: "Precisely what I mean."

Jun: "From what I hear, it's an evil Goddess Cori statue!"

*The neko manning the gun turret chipped in.*

Murai: "No way. Goddess Cori isn't evil!"

Jun: "I'm telling you, that's what I heard from the guy who went down inside it."

Hiro: "You mean that one Ultor Guard, Tim Capeck?"

Jun: "Yeah, him!"

Uriko: "We'll know for sure when they bring it up."

*That was the end of that.*

*Donning face masks, the team of archeologists juryrig a crane and hoist system to lower down three archeologists. Looking down, one can see that the whole bottom of the chamber is covered in a thick fog-like mist. The team thought nothing of this and went ahead, lowering three men down to retrieve the statue. The trip down went without event, descending the 100 or so yards from the top down to the bottom. It was there they discovered the mist was about waist height at the deepest part of the chamber. However, they thought nothing of this and set about examineing the statue. They take note that whoever made this, was probably someone different then whoever it was that made the other five statues.*

Indiana: "Okay, let's get this thing hooked up and hual her out of here..." Geez... Is this what Goddess Cori looks like when she's mad?

*The other two set about rigging up the crane to lift the statue up out the chamber while Indiana Jones, the head of this team, examines the altar.*

Indiana: "What's this? Some sort of sacrificing Altar? We better get this too. I don't think there's ever been a time when Goddess Cori demanded blood sacrifices..."

*Upon securing the statue, the men signalled for the crane to hual it up...*

Same Time, at the Shin-Ra Tower...
\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///

*Yumi, daughter of Janus Mew, bolted up right in her bed, in a cold sweet. Her breathing was hard, and tiny beads of sweet dotted her forehead.*

Yumi: "It was only a nightmare..."

*She told herself.*

A tiny apartment
Fort Jackson, Iansisle, the Commonwealth

Todd Andrews was having trouble sleeping again. It had started about a week ago, nightmares too hazy for him to be able to properly recall. Considering his immense mental powers, the fact that he couldn’t even pick memories out of his own brain scared him. There was something at work; something powerful. Something that really scared Todd, as much as that first night in a cave in Assington had.

For the first time, he started to regret making his older brother John forget about his meeting with Mr. Jimmy, when Todd told his secret. Still, if his current plan was to work, no one could know about his powers - not father, not John, not his younger brother Shane, and not even the High King himself!

He slipped out of the tiny, grungy bed quietly so as not to disturb his sleeping brother and made his way over to the dirty little window. Despite Fort Jackson’s impressive setting on Cape Jackson just north of the straits and across from Sentry Island, Todd’s room had a view of the tenement building next door. Sighing, he probed the fellow in room across from his window’s mind. He was having a dirty dream about some woman he’d never met. Todd recoiled mentally and withdrew into his own head.

It certainly was a lonely existence, he thought, being the only powerful psychic in an entire city, maybe even an entire country. Despite the circumstances that had surrounded him there, he wished to be back in Marius’ cave in Assington with Mr. Jimmy and Yumi and Mr. Kerrik. At last, and with a sigh, Todd lowered himself back into bed. He lay awake for half an hour, not sure if he was avoiding memories of his friends, the recurring nightmares, or just feeling generally lonely.

This time, sleep did overtake him at last. For a time, it seemed he had nothing to worry about; his dreams were happy and light, filled mostly with memories of Assington. However, the cave slowly grew more distorted and twisted, and the feeling of dread in Todd’s stomach grew. Suddenly, the wall itself seemed to reach out and grab Yumi. He tried to save her, but found he couldn’t move; couldn’t think. With a mighty effort reached out his tiny hand to her, but found that she was already dead, a large knife protruding from her chest. The... whatever it was, sort of like a shadow on the wall, scurried away, leaving Todd imprisoned.

And then he awoke with a start, sweaty and breathless in his bed in Fort Jackson. Closing his eyes, he sent out a psychic pulse generally directed atKrowemoh: Yumi?
25-11-2003, 23:37
*Yumi, sitting in her lush and very expensive bed, was reading a book by a small bedside lamp she keep. She was a young woman now, having grown out of her teenage years long ago and matured quite a bit. She was startled when she had heard Todd's voice in her mind. Shaken a bit, she mews softly and then sends a telepathic message back towards Todd.*

Yumi: "Todd? What's up?"

I ... I don’t know, Yumi. I keep having the strangest dreams...

Just then, Shane woke up. Needless to say, seeing his brother sitting bolt upright and sweaty in bed, thinking as hard as he could with his eyes closed was a little unusual. “Todd, what are you doing?”

Nothing, Sh-- he started automatically, forgetting that he was talking with his ‘second’ voice. It took a second for him to make the transfer back to the real world. “Nothing, Shane. Go back to bed.” For a second, his brother seemed to be too curious, but Todd forced the issue with a little mental tweak. He didn’t like doing that to his own family, but he needed be alone right now.

Sorry about that; my brother was bugging me. Yumi, I just had this dream where you were eaten or something by a wall. Normally I can control my nightmares and stuff, but this was weird...like I had no power.

*She pulled her knees up to her chest.*

Yumi: "Todd, do you think it's a sign, or something?"

Jimmy sat in the vast library within Marius' cave in Assington. He was going through several books about different applications for his psychic powers. It had been many long years since he and four others met in this very structure and had their full potential unleashed upon them.

Marius was out and about somewhere whilst Jimmy prefered to stay in the cave lately. It was late and he had been reading for hours. Finally he drifted into sleep.

He found himself in a large chamber. Suddenly he saw a Neko fall to the ground, a dagger in his chest. Before he could do anything... the wall engulfed him. Jimmy rushed towards the Neko but was bashed back by a large statue of an evil looking woman.

Suddnely he awoke. He couldn't remove that evil face from his mind. Normally his dreams didn't bother him, normally he didn't dream. But this was different. It was so real. Jimmy decided to leave the library and go out for a fly.

Kaukolastan
26-11-2003, 09:07
Monolith... the greatest accomplishment of Kaukolastan, the overriding project that had defined an era, that was still defining it... was in flames. "Goddamnit!" someone snarled as another rebel ran for the opening in the dockworks. "Why can't they just agree to be deported?"

Behind the two argueing soldiers, a lone man stood, watching the data scroll past the many screens in the command center. He stepped forward, and the two men silenced themselves. He clicked a button on the keypad, and the view shifted. "They'll strike there. They'll evac at the southern warf."

"Yes, sir!" the officer snapped to attention, diverting the troops.

The lone man turned, walked away. "I'll trust you to clean up this mess, Major. I have more pressing business to attend to if we're going to get Monolith online." As he spun, his coat flared, snapping in the stormy winds that seemed to pervade even this bunker.

"Yes, Director Kerrik!" the Major replied smartly.

Kerrik sighed and continued his even paces away. Another day, another disaster averted. How long must we fight? He stepped down the hallway, his boots ringing from the metal. The soldiers parted for him, the near legendary ISA operative. Fifteen years of combat and intrigue had left him honed and tensed, and also weary. But he never relented, for the State was a cruel mistress. It was said that he was more computer than human, all perfection and calculation, but that was not true.

He was solitary by nature, but he had carefully orchestrated many actions to prevent the loss of life, losing only ten men in the Isilderoth Conflict. Those who had served with him knew that he merely did what he must, and what he must do was greater than what most men hoped to do.

By his mid thirties, he was Sub-Director of the Internal Security Agency, having left the Hunter/Killers years before. He was a favorite of the Citadel, a counsel to the aging Drakk and a player in the court. And yet, he wanted nothing more than to find his peace.

He entered his plain quarters, began to water his plants. It was abstract for him, but he found nothing more consoling than growing these primitive life forms, guiding them to fruition... they were beautiful and unparalled from almost any natural life, and they were his. He turned to his reports, filing Black Ops after Secret Project, and then it hit him... a searing burn in his mind that almost knocked him flat.

"Argh!" he groaned, reaching for his desk. "Too many stims, I guess- aah!" There was a burst of light, a vision of sorts, a calling. The light faded. Yumi? He shook his head. Why the hell? Haven't seen her in years... But something was amiss, something was wrong.

He toggled his phone. "General Vickers? Get my VTOL. I need to make a trip."

((OOC: Thanks for coming dude. Now that we're all here, it's time for plot development!))

*The two archeologists attached the ends of the hoist to the base of the statue, then shouted for it to be hualed up. The gasoline powered engine whirred to life, retracting the main cable, from which the four smaller cables branched off from. Each of these was hooked to a corner of the base.*

Indiana: "Easy goes it. Steady, steady..."

*The way was slow, but they were being cautious. They didn't want the statue to fall and break. If it did that, they'd lose their jobs and would probably have to pay a hefty fine.
*Fate has a funny way of dealing bad hands to people undeserving of such misfortunes. About halfway up, the gasoline engine suddenly sputtered and died, stopping for no reason. The statue slipped and fell down about a couple feet, but the automatic stop halted it from falling further down. A wave of sighs of relief washed over the gathered group. Then they heard it, a twang, followed by a snap. One of the cables had broke! The cable holding up one of the corners snapped away, the statue dipping down. The other four cables began to untwain, twanging and snapping as each gave way.*

Archeologist: "Nooo! It's gonna fall!"

*With a groan and snap, the final cable broke and the statue came tumbling down. The three inside the egg shaped chamber dived out of the way of the falling marble object, and as it hit the ground, the shatterings of ten lives was all but audible.*

Murai: "Ooooh... That had to hurt..."

*The raven haired female said as she viewed the video feed from the safety of the MF's C&C Vehicle.
*Indiana Jones was the first to his feet. He survayed the ruined statue, broken in half by the 50-odd yard fall.*

Indiana: "... Oh no... This is bad... Very b-..."

*He never had chance to finish his word, as a blast of fire spread from the center of the chamber outwards to the edge, incinerating the three archeologists instantly. At the same time, overhead, black stormclouds began to form, thunder rolling. Rude rushes outside the hut as he hears lightening strike, followed by a high pitched, woman's luagh.*

???: "I'm free! Finally, I am free!"

*Rude gasped as he saw a nude woman seemingly floating in mid-air above the entrance to the chamber, all the archeologists around her dead. The woman half turned her body to look at Rude.*

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/338831/GoddessJessi.jpg

*Rods of light pierced Rude's body from every angle, blood erupting out his mouth and torso where the rods had peirced him. Then the rods exploded...
The Goddess Jessi, sealed for over three hundred thousand years in that marble prison, was free...
*Yumi, Todd, Jimmy and Kerrik were all hit by a sudden and piercing headache that lingered for a few seconds before sub-siding...*

Jimmy was in flight when it hit him. One of the worst headaches he had ever experienced. His head felt like it was going to explode and he lost all concentration. He dropped out of the sky, speeding towards the hard ground below.

Eventually it subsided. Just in time for Jimmy to soften his landing and set himself down gently.

What the hell was that?

Jimmy decided to head back to the cave and see if Marius was there.
_____________

Marius witnessed the entire event. He shuddered with fear and amazement.

No. Not now. Not again.
26-11-2003, 10:11
*Everyone in the C&C Vehicle gasped as they saw the firgure rise up out of the chamber and the archeologists just fall over dead.*

Murai: "What the heck is THAT?!"

Uriko: "I don't know!"

Lt. Hawakowa: "I'm broadcasting all information back to HQ. I want the Metal Fakes to engage that thing."

All: "Yes sir!'

Uriko: "Focus 1 and 2, physical condiction rising. Focus 1: heartbeat is at 100, pulse 99 and rising. Focus 2: Heartbeat is at 110, pulse 98."

Murai: "Focus 3 and 4, physical condiction also rising! Focus 3: Heartbeat is at 130, Pulse 100. Focus 4: Heartbeat 115, pulse 101."

Focus 1: "Target 1. M1. Fire."

*At the spoken command, the Metal Fake locked onto the female with it's 25mm Machine Gun.*

Uriko: "They only have plastic bullets! Those are non-lethals!"

Murai: "Aim for headshots!"

*The MF adjusted it's aim so it was aimed at the woman's head. It fired a burst of five rounds. The five rounds soared for the woman's head, only to uselessly impact her and fall to the ground.*

Murai: "She just wasted Rude! Without blinking an eye!"

Uriko: "Focus 2 and Focus 3, cover Focus 1 and Focus 4 with suppressive fire. Focus 1, Focus 4, get in close to target 1 and use your BlastRods."

*Focus 2 and 3 carried out their orders, laying down suppressive fire with their 25mm Machine Guns while the other two mechs closed in on Goddess Jessi. The Goddess smirked, and a bolt of lightening fell from the sky, striking Focus 1 and electrocuting the pilot, slowly cooking the Realian inside his cockpit. His death screams rang out inside the C&C Vehicle, cuasing the operates to wince and shy away.
*The Metal Fake stopped dead and fell "face" first onto the ground. Focus 4 got within range of Jessi to use it's BlastRod.*

Focus 4: "Target 1. BlastRod. Impact!"

*The Fake raised it's arm with the BlastRod on it to the woman and a blast of high pressured air strong enough to smash a car. All to no avail. With a flick of her wrist, the Metal Fake burst into flames.*

Lt. Hawakowa: "We're aborting this mission. Let's get the hell out of here!"

Jun: "I second that notion. Yushiro, if you would kindly get us the f--k out of here!"

Murai: "Focus 2, Focus 3, retreat. Get back to the nearest KSSDF base under your own locomotion."

Focus 3 and 4: "Roger."

*The armored C&C Vehicle sped off, fleeing the battle. The two Metal Fakes, however, weren't so lucky. Destruction rained from the black stormclouds overhead, hitting the two Metal Fakes and destroying them.*

Jessi: "Such worthless toys... Now, to find the ones who imprisoned me..."

*She closed her eyes, reaching out with her divine powers to find the four who had trapped her. She doesn't find them, but she does find their descendents.*

Jessi: "They will have to do."

*She floated across the ground, towards the Shin-Ra Tower. She was in no hurry, and why not make a few stops along the way and destroy a couple Neko settlements?*

Jimmy arrived to find Marius distressed.

"What is it?"

Marius looked up at Jimmy.

"I have to tell you something. You've been having dreams and headaches recently. Have you not?"

Jimmy nodded and Marius continued.

"I thought as much. Over 300 000 years ago the godess Cori created the Neko people. Cori had a jealous sister, Jessi. Jessi enjoyed destroying the Neko people and causing them great pain. Finally, four people opposed her. Three of the them human and the other a neko. I was one of those four. We were all extremely powerful psyhics and we managed to defeat Jessi and imprison her within a statue. But the statue has been discovered and she has been freed. The other three are dead, but their decendents live on. Yumi, Kerrik, Todd and yourself."

Jimmy sat down.

"Ok.... I'm going to need a little time to think about this."

"There's no time to explain. We must go."

Immediately Marius took off, leavin the cave at an immense speed. Jimmy managed to catch up.

"Where are we going?

"Krowemoh."

Marius quickly sent a message to the others.

"You must come to Krowemoh immediately. The entire planet is in grave danger and only we can stop it. Jimmy and I are on our way at the moment."

*Goddess Jessi was making good time. Up ahead was an apple field. An middle aged neko and his son were picking apples. The man didn't see Jessi coming, but his son did, and put down his basket of apples and pointed.*

Little Neko: "Dad! Look! She's naked..."

*The older Neko stopped and indeed looked. He frowned as Jessi neared. It didn't seem to register to him that she was floating a full foot off the ground.*

Older Neko: "Forget something this morning, missy?"

*The woman simply grinned, bearing her teeth...*

(quick question - I know this is several years after the other thread, but how long is it? I ask only because a couple years to Todd makes a big difference. ;) My apologies if you said it somewhere and I missed it.)

Yumi: "Todd, do you think it's a sign, or something?"

I ... I don't...

Todd broke off as he was suddenly engulfed by a wave of pain. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't help but cry out loud, waking Shane again.

Did..did you feel that? he asked Yumi, oblivious to his brother's concerns.

However, instead of Yumi's voice in reply, he heard Marius's:

"You must come to Krowemoh immediately. The entire planet is in grave danger and only we can stop it. Jimmy and I are on our way at the moment."

Todd wanted to ask a question or two, but he quickly put it down and nodded. Much to Shane's surprise, he marched to the window, pried it open, and launched himself out. As almost an after thought, Todd sent back a quick mental burst, erasing Shane's memory of the events, then turned and made with all speed for Krowemoh, not sure exactaly where in it he was going.

Marius continued to fly, Jimmy not far behind him. They would arrive at Shin Ra tower within ten minutes.

Marius sent another message.

"Meet at Yumi's place. The Shin Ra tower. This is vital."

Memories of Rem Mew came flushing back to Marius. He couldn't bare to see his friend die, with the knowledge that he would live on eternally.

The VTOL hung over the capital of Krowemoh, hovering near the Shin Ra tower. The pilot was currently arguing with the flight controller in the tower, "-no, we're a diplomatic mission!"

"Then why the assault weapons?"

"They're standard issue! Listen, our countries are on good terms, we're here on a diplomatic mission, and so please allow us to land!" The pilot sighed exasperatedly.

"I'm sorry, but you're going to have to divert to-"

Kerrik thumbed the comm. "Let us land. We are no danger."

"We will let you land. You are no danger." the controller replied automatically, artificially. "Please divert to Pad 3, where you can dock."

Kerrik smiled slightly. "And take a day off, you're working hard."

"I think I'll take a day off." The comm closed.

The pilot glanced at Kerrik, mortified. Kerrik looked over and rolled his eyes as if to ask "what?". The pilot swallowed, "It... it's just... it's just, you just controlled their mind, sir! That's kind of creepy."

"Yes, it is." Kerrik replied. "I thought you'd be used to it by now."

"No, sir. No matter how many times I see you or one of the others do that stuff... its weird, sir."

Kerrik sighed. "Yes, it always is... Any suggestions on how to make it less weird, soldier? I'm always looking to improve the PsyCorps reputation."

"Um... leave the ISA?" the pilot asked nervously.

Kerrik laughed, and the pilot relaxed visibly. "Yeah, the spooks are creepy enough without us running around." he waved his hand mysteriously. "Just put her down, and I'll be on my way. Keep the engines hot."

"Yes, sir." The VTOL settled onto the pad. "Sir?" the pilot asked. "We've got company." Outside, a group was stepping out onto the Pad with the VTOL.

"Well, I'd better say hello." Kerrik stepped out of the craft into the setting sun.

Marius and Jimmy were now racing through the skies of Krowemoh, heading towards where they noticed a VTOL landing. Finally they caught up with the craft just as it landed. They set down next to it and awaited Kerrik to leave the ship.

*Yumi Mew sat up, holding her head as the magrine subsided. There came a knock at her door.*

Yumi: "Yes? Come in."

*The door opened to reveal her Uncle, Rufus Mew.*

Yumi: "Father†, what are you doing here?"

Rufus Mew: "Yumi, I have something to tell you."

*He started as he sat on her bed.*

Rufus Mew: "Long, long ago, the Goddess Cori created us, the Nekos. She gave us life, freedom of will, and set us onto Earth to forge a life for ourselves. But, the Goddess had a sister, named Jessi. She was a jealous and spiteful Goddess, and used to terrorize and slaughter Her sister's creations, us. Nothing could stand up to her, weapons had no effects on the Gods. But then, four Psychics rose up, challenged the Goddess Jessi, and defeated her. They sealed her inside a Marble prison so that she mayst never terrorize us again. One of those Psychics was a neko, his name was Rem Mew..."

Yumi: "... Rem... Mew?"

Rufus Mew: "Yes, Rem Mew. We are his descendents. Yumi, you can use Psychic abilities, I have seen you. Yumi, I do not know what happened to the other three Psychics. As far as I know, they have no descendents, and we are the only ones left of the original four."

*Yumi: "Daddy, why are you telling me this?"

Rufus Mew: "... The Goddess Jessi... Has been released from her prison."

*Yumi gulped, then she heard Marius' voice in her head.*

Marius: "Meet at Yumi's place. The Shin Ra tower. This is vital."

Rufus Mew: "You are the only one who can stop her. Our weapons are as ineffective against the Goddess as they were three hundred thousand years ago. Yumi, I... Am so sorry... I don't mean to put all this responsibility onto your shoulders alone... I wish, I wish there was something I could do, to lessen your load, but alas, there is nothing."

*Yumi put her hand on Rufus' shoulder and gave it a firm squeeze.*

Yumi: "Don't give up hope."

*With that she stands, and throws on a robe.*

Yumi: "I'm going outside, I need time to think this over."

*Rufus nods, allowing Yumi to leave. Once outside her room, Yumi shoots a telepathic message to the others.*

Yumi: "Meet me outside the Shin-Ra Tower. We have to talk."

*With that she heads for the elevator.
*Outisde, at the docks, Reno and Elena of the Turks were present to personally greet the Kaukolastan craft. As always, their leader, T'sung, was nowhere to be seen.*

Reno: "Well now, care to explain the purpose of your unannounced visit, Mr...?"

*Elena noted the presense of the other two.*

Elena: "You there. You came with them?"

*She cocked her head towards the VTOL craft.*

Todd alighted slightly behind Jimmy and Marius. Turning, they may have been surprised (or, considering their latent psychic powers, perhaps not) to see what the scared young ten year old had grown up into. He was just as thin as he had been in the cave, but that had extended itself into a lanky five foot eleven frame. His brown eyes were every bit as sharp as they had once been and he wore a fine Agrigentian-made business suit. Removing his fedora, he extended a hand, first to Jimmy.

"Hello, Jimmy. It's been far too long."

"Marius, sir - it's good to see you again."

"Good day, Mr. Kerrik. How have you been?"

As his eyes caught Yumi's, Todd paused for a second, almost losing his calm demenor. However, he quickly recovered, and smiled at her. "Hello again, Yumi. I swear; my dream did you no justice."

Kerrik spotted Jimmy and Marius first, then Todd as he floated in, and smiled slightly, the wind tugging on the ISA trenchcoat, his carefully controlled jet black hair flinging in the wind. "Well, now, this is like a big reunion. Still alighting around publicly, I see." he sighed in mock resignation, "Well, there goes operational security." His smile widened, almost relieved to be among old companions, away from the cloak and dagger world he lived in, "How are you all doing for yourselves?" He nodded to Todd, "Well, you've come up a bit, kid."

The guards were becoming agitated. Kerrik turned back to them, "And you! I'm surprised you don't remember me! After all, I did try to make quite a first impression..." he remembered fleeing the tower some years before. "How's the support struts holding up, anywho?"

The guards did not appreciate his candor, and more might have come of it, except for the presence of another on the scene. Kerrik bowed slightly, a slight mocking sweep of the arm, "Yumi, you grace us with your presence." he glanced up, his mouth twisting into a wry grin. "Good to see you!" he declared. "It's been too long. Now, I'd love to chat, but your guards seem a little trigger happy."

Yumi: "Reno, Elena, show your respect, these are my friends."

Reno: "Very well, if these... Humans are your guests..."

*Elena gave Reno a shocked look. The red headed neko made no effort to disguise his distaste of the humans, especially of the Kaukolastanian.*

Yumi: "Leave us. I wish to speak to my friends in private."

Reno: "As you wish."

Yumi: "Kerrik, it's been too long..."

Yumi: "Todd? My, you've grown into a handsome young man."

*Yumi nodded, and opened the door, allowing the others access. After they enter, she shuts the door and leads them to her private chambers, where they can have privacy. Once inside her bedroom, she turns to all of them gathered and drew in a deep breath.*

Yumi: "My father, Rufus Mew, just told me an aweful story. About my past, my heritage. I'll sum it up quickly. Long, long ago, the Goddess Cori created the Nekos, us. She put us on the Earth, gave us free will and sentiance. Apparently she had a twin sister, named Jessi. Today is the first time I've ever heard of Goddess Cori having a sister. That's besides the point, I guess. Anyways, Goddess Jessi was a very cruel and petty Goddess, and she used to slaughter us because she was jealous of her sister's creation. Nothing could stop her, except four Psychics, who had sealed her inside a statue. My great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, Rem Mew, was one of those Psychics... That means I'm his descendent... I'm not sure, but I think each of you is a descendent of one of the other three... What does all this mean? The Goddess Jessi has been released. I don't know all the details, but from what my father told me, we're the only ones who can stop her..."

*She paused, letting it all sink in. It was beyond belief to her, she kept hoping this was all a dream and that she'd wake up soon. But she was kidding herself. This wasn't a dream. It was 100% real.*

Despite the somewhat earth-shattering news, Todd kept his face impassive. "Olympus come to Earth, eh? Well, I don't suppose there's really much of a choice, is there? We have to stop her." He paused, scratching his chin. "I don't suppose your father mentioned anything about how we're to do it? Or Marius, maybe you have an idea? I hate to admit it, but I'm plum out."
Assington
09-12-2003, 13:45

"That is pretty much it. Four psychics, one Neko, three Human. It was a massive struggle to defeat Jessi, she was imprisoned within a statue of herself and buried deep underground. You are all decendants of those four psychics. You have the power to stop her."

Marius did not feel the need to mention his role in Jessi's defeat unless it was brought up.
