PNN News Alert!

"Hello, I'm Jane Morra. Today, riots took place in Chokai as millions took to the streets. Thousands of businesses have been destroyed, and homes are being burned. The Empress has declared a state of emergency in the Corporate Dominion, and is facing the decision to declare Martial Law.

These recent strings of rioting have come after the Empress declared that she was an enemy of the GDODAD. Opposing the views of 87% of the population, the Empress decided to actively engage against the GDODAD, in some views, is dangerous and not acceptable. As an addition, the Empress joined the LAGD, and therefore inflamed rioters further. Many are calling for her resignation, and she has openly refused to do so.

Many historians have equated this to the Russian Revolution of 1917, that removed the monarchy from power. The number of liberals in the Corporate Dominion is increasing, and as the government is constantly strengthening its grip on the people, the people are becoming angrier. Earlier today, a Gallup poll showed that 72% of Penguinatans consider themselves Socialist, up from 38% last year. This new political inflamation is seen as many as the first step to Civil War."
-------

OOC: I'm dropping out of the LAGD b/c I've decided that staying neutral unless one of my personal allies is attacked is the best thing to do. I will not risk my nation's survival in order to save another that may, in turn, turn GDODAD. A good example would be Automagfreek. Say I fought to keep the GDODAD off of him in WW5. He's now a GDODAD member. In short, I refuse to fight in vain.

BTW, stay tuned for an increase in juicy action.

Official Statement from Imperial Council..err..what's left of it anyway:

The Corporate Dominion has fully ascended into anarchy. Riots and rebellion is in full swing, and the government only has acess to remote areas of the mainland. The Commonwealth has fallen apart, and the Empress has been kidnapped and murdered. Domestic terrorism is rampant, and millions are suffering. After this announcement, connections will be terminated with the international community until order has been restored.

In response to the statement....

A man shows up on all television screens across the country and world.

"It is time that we begin a new Penguinatan existence. We shall not fail, and the current government will be overthrown. May anarchy ensue forever!!!"

He walks off, and the screen goes blank.

OOC:

I'm quitting this nation for a while, though I'll probably bring it back in a few weeks or maybe a month. I'll keep it active, but not in the forums. We'll call it the Penguinatan Dark Age. This means that all current alliances are now void, but they will be brought back, namely m10, the United Emirates, and the Star League. Don't worry, I won't disappear from NS for too long.

OOC: Err... I don't mean to ask too much but could you have that so that Kei is only kidnapped and not really murdered? The reason I ask is that I want to turn this into a decent RP. If not, I'm going to be forced to declare war because the rebels killed a personal friend of the First Lord. It would be very bloody.[/ooc]

An aid burst through the door, "Sir, reports say that there's been a rebellion in IdP and that the rebels have killed Kei Cho!"

"What!?" The First Lord roared.

"I said, sir..."

The First Lord interrupted the aid, "I damn well heard what you said! I'll have a statement ready in an hour, when it's done I want it transmitted to the entire IdP public."

One hour later this was transmitted:

People of Isla de Penguinata,

I send this because an event that is very sad and is a stain on my personal honor has accured in your nation. I speak of the rebellion and the subsequent kidnapping and supposed murder of my friend, Empress Kei Cho. First of all, I demand that all rebels put down their arms and surrender to the authority of the Star Leauge. Second, I demand that Kei Cho be surrendered to the Star Leauge, either alive or deceased, although there will be consequences for the latter. Last, I demand that if the rebels fail the first that anybody loyal to the former Empress take up arms against the usurpers.

The first two conditions are not negotiable! Failure to comply will result in the deaths of many. Our ships will blot out the sky and smash any who defy our will, our dropships will forms form walls of impregnible armor and firepower, our armies will make the streets flow like rivers with the blood of the usurpers. There will be no quarter given, not now and not ever. The rebels have 72 hours to comply.

First Lord of the Star League

OOC:

I'm making it non-active. I wasn't looking for an RP at all, I just wanted to keep this nation quiet for a little while, and then return later on with a completely new government and everything. There aren't rebels, just a bunch of anarchists who overthrew the government and are now fighting amongst each other.

IC:

The Empress was hiding underground, with her bodyguards. She was scared, and heard the rioters above. She had thankfully escaped and her double was killed. The rioters had burned her double's body too late to know that the real Kei Cho was still alive. A newspaper fell from the sewage drain above. She picked it up, and realized it was too dark to read it. "Can someone give me a lighter?" One of her bodyguards dug in his pockets and found one. "Here you are your High-" She stopped him immediately. "Do not call me that! It's too dangerous.." She used the lighter, and read the article regarding the Imperial Council's announcement. She shook her head gravely. Suddenly a young man was running down the underground sewage, and ran up to her, with a transmission. "Good! Tell them I'm still alive, but don't let them do anything. I'm going to find my own way out, because those damn rioters are too dangerous to be picked with."

OOC: Ah, I see. If I may ask, what is the reason for all of the sporadic changes lately? Also, may I ask if there are riots on the Tharkad colony? [/ooc]

"Sir, an update on the IdP situation! Kei Cho is alive, it was her double that was killed. She sent us a message saying that she alive and she requests that we do nothing about the 'rioters'."

The First Lord shook his head, "It's good that she alive, but I'll be damned if I'm just going to sit here and do nothing. Issue orders that the Ragnarok and Pandora's Box battlegroups to reposition over IdP and ready the two Jump Infantry divisions in case things start to go wrong. Also issue orders to I Corp, tell them that if the riots somehow spread to Tharkad that they are to supress them using whatever they have at their disposal. One more thing, ready the Marine Corp and II Corp for deployment, we may just need them after all.

OOC: No. No riots on the Tharkad colony. They are remaining separate from the strife on the mainland, basically becoming independent nations.

IC:

Colonial Tharkad..

The Governor of CT was reviewing the happenings on the Mainland back on Earth. He was worried somewhat, but he finally decided he had to do something. He sent the First Lord of the Star League a message:

It is my utmost regret that I am speaking to you on such grave terms. Isla de Penguinata has collapsed, and I cannot possibly rule the Colony without help from the mainland. However, instead of asking for help, I am offering Colonial Tharkad to the temporary control of your nation, until Isla de Penguinata has solved its crisis. The Empress and I have discussed this thoroughly in the past, and we came to the conclusion that power should be passed to you in the event the government collapsed. We do not wish to take no for an answer, and I immediately assume the powers to you. The colonials will no doubt be satisfied with this, as they are intelligent and fair-minded.

OOC: I'm not going to be on this week most likely, as I'm going to be at my Nana's house. I'm working with her Monday and Tuesday, and I don't know if her laptop at work has internet access. I figured I'd just let you know.

"Of all the..." The swearing continued much to the disconfort of the Praetor's aide. "Has Eris and all the Gods conspired against Drakonia!"

"Um, Sir," the aide tried to calm the Praetor. "You don't believe all the Gods, you only believe in one."

"Well, there bloody is something going on up above." More swearing ensued and the aide excused himself. At least he thought he excused himself, he had ran out of the room so fast, he wasn't sure.

There was only one person in all the world who could calm the Praetor when his mood was this bad, and that person happened to be far away in the nation of Tersanctus. The Praetor's staff could only hope, that he would calm down enough to rule the nation in this terrible time. But that too would take time, and by the sound of the Praetor's voice, it would take a lot of time.

The Praetor's cheif advisor meanwhile was much more pleasant. Nathan Lamb, Commanding General of the Praetorian Guard, quickly issued orders for a unit to be dispatch to rescue the Penguinatan Empress, if at all possible. He also ordered the Imperial Army to prepare for peacekeeping operations in Isla de Penguinata.

Still the Imperium was swamped. There were reports of ICBM strikes in Midwest Balka, of increased fighting in Al Anbar, of the return of GDODAD, increased drug activity in Panama and Columnbia, the disappearence of all open CoVar Corporate Assets, of further fighting in Dyelli Beybi, and now Isla de Penguinata had collapse in anarchy. It seemed as if the world, itself was coming to an end. It would take forever to clear everything, that is if the apocalypse itself did not happen. And if the swearing coming from the Praetor's room was any indication the Apocalypse itself was coming with the all legions of Melkor and all the evil Smurfs one could expect with it.

OOC: Isla, I know your gone, but that my response. Guess we will find out if the Praetorian Guard team was able to rescue Kei Cho when your come back. Have fun.

OOC: Actually, my Nana has internet access on this laptop at her work. w00t! I'm not gonna be on all day of course, I have to work when they find something for me to do. Nice response, by the way.

IC:

The Empress had changed her location, and her and her crew eventually found a safe spot in the frigid northwest. Mountains and subzero temperatures protected them, though to contact other remnants of government they had to go outside of the cave, because all the rock blocked signals, or made them very weak..

The Empress' aide, Mialra, was walking back in from the freezing air. "Your Highness, I have detected that Drakonian forces are now making preparations to land and rescue you. You must escape, or the resurrection of the Dominion is at risk. Already issues are being handled by a man named Viea Zarqk, some Islamic guy. Looks like compulsory voting is out the window..not voting at all to be matter of fact.."
The Empress sighed. She could not bear it any longer. She regretted ever having joined the LAGD, which is what started this whole mess. The Dominion was weak, and she had contacted the Governors of Arctique Island and Colonial Tharkad, and encouraged them to declare independence. She was proud of CT's decision to join with Scandavian States, that way the existence of it was sure.
"Okay, Mialra. I want you to contact Drakonia. Don't give them coordinates yet, but I do want you to let them know I'm aware of their intentions. Tell SS that's it's alright if they send something down after I've escaped, because now I'm not hiding in a damn sewage system.."
"Sure thing, your Highness."

SECURE TRANSMISSION:

This is Mierla, aide of the Empress. We are alive and well. We know your intentions, coordinates to be given as soon as rescue operation lands. Don't worry about peacekeepers until we've obtained some order in Arundemont, where the largest military base is. Thank you graciously.

The Drakonian heavy cruiser slid through the cold twilight waters. Moving slowly on a parallel course to the Penguinatan coastline. On board the ship, a helicopter made a silent assent into the air. It turned then sailed forward toward the coast, barely visible in the twilight.

Captain John "Snake" Avisius, sat silently making a final check of his rifle. He would command the rescue team, a team made up of none other than the Praetorian Guard. Personal Guard of the Praetor of Drakonia, the best of the best, and said to be "Will of the Praetor". There were nine other Praetorian Guards inside the helicopter all ready to carry out their mission.
