In a small port on a lonely island a group of men and women stand looking to the sea.
On the water is the boat they are waiting for, The Freelancer.
A large boat, but a fast one aswell, with two small speed boats beside it. The speed boats are crewed by three men, one driver, one operating the fixed turret machine gun and one holding an assault rifle.
Onboard the larger boat was a captain, three gunmen, two fixed turrets and The Frelancer. Of course, in the rest of the boat was cargo. Very, special cargo.
This week The Freelancer was carrying 50 kilos of the best Cocaine arround, ready to sell to anyone one the island.
As the boats neared the small wooden dock three ropes were slung arround posts from the main boat.
Then a plank emerged, and then along that plank came a tall man with a small goatie beard, holding a black briefcase.

"Customers please!?"

OOC-You can be a buyer in the crowd, onboard the boats, a customs guy in a boat, police, drugs squad...

Mercury waits inside the captain's cabin. A beautiful young lady she loved her companion so much. He treated her so well, buying her many dresses and jewellery. Now she waited as he sold his drugs outside, her hate in life as her father had died of AIDS, given to him by a shared needle.

She lies in a short red dress, hoping he'd treat her to a new ring she'd seen in that jeweller's shop last week.

Dave was edgy. He was sat in a rubber dinghy, just out of sight of the small dock, round a little breakwater. He and Bob were given this assignment, and he knew he had no choice....but it didn't feel right. They had never had to operate on this small a scale before....

He gripped his gun.

The boat floated gently on the waves.
22-11-2003, 21:18
Miles behind the ribber dinghy, just out of sight, was a police frigate slowly but surely move ever closer to the small island. On board you could make out the appearance of 2 men, one swabbing the decks, and the other managing the large 5 inch gun aboard.

With the assistance of binoculars that both Dave and Bob had they could see the crew in the bridge 5 men operating at the assigned stations and one wearing a crisply pressed white uniform, the Captain.

"All left full!" the Captain proclaimed, the men from that point began truning dials, grabbing for phones, and frantacly moving about the small bridge.

The frigate began to turn left, away from the Island.
22-11-2003, 21:32
OOC: I'm assuming our two lots are working together.

Bob picks up a radio, and transmits to the frigate.

"Can't see anything happening at the moment.....the boat's just come in. Will hold position. Advise you make no move at this time. Over."

Dave turns to Bob.

"So....you think we should move in?"

"No. Wait until we get a buyer. Then we go after them."

"Ok."

The men sit in the dinghy, and wait.
22-11-2003, 21:59
The Frigate dirfts to the left and behind the island, completely out of site from the people on the island and dinghy. The Captian then proceeds to give new orders to the men on the bridge.

"All Stop!, anchor here and wait for satellite triangulation." erupted the Captain, "Get me Dave on the horn."

"Dave, wait for sat link to finish triangulation so we can have visual evidence of the sale before we make any pre-emptive attacks."

As the satellite slides through space the triangulation completes and the men lay in wait for the sale to go underway.

Canine swam towards the Freelancer underwater, monitoring all the radio frequencies as they were relayed to him from Ratchet Command. He took out his water-proof berreta, and pulled back the action. These god-damn drug runners had been playing a dangerous game, and were about to feel his wrath...

23-11-2003, 12:01
Canine swam to the starboard end of the boat and silently hauled himself out. Silence would be the key here; he needed to find some incriminating evidence of the Freelancers... other activities. He snuck up behind a man armed with an AK and plunged a small combat knife into his throat, before carefully dumping him into the water (Without making too much noise).

He arrived at what he assumed was the captain's cabin drew out his berreta. He could see a shadow of a person in there, and he wasn't prepared to take any chances. He screwed the silencer onto the berreta and opened the door...

Standing on shore The Freelancer glanced through the window at Mercury. She had a longing look to her, as she allways did when she wanted something. He smiled gently and turned back arround.
As he turned his head arround he heard a splashing from the back of the boat. He couldn't let the buyers know if something was up, they'd run and he'd be without his money.
He asked the crowd to be patient as more briefcases were brought of the boat. Worrying in his head as he allways did at this time, if the police wanted him, this is when they'd get him, during the sale.
He turned once again and looked into the captains cabin, where the captain stood firmly gripping the wheel. As he stared accros the boat he heard another strange noise, a clicking and a pushing of the door.
-------------
On the boat the captain was calm in his cabin. Any trouble he was out of there. he had also heard the splashing, but thought little of that now. But then he heard the second noise. Right outside his cabin.
He loaded his pistol quickly and held it tightly. The door flew open and a silouete of a man was standing in the morning sun. From behind the door, either side, two armned men stood and aimed pistols to the gut and head of the intruder.
"GET DOWN!"
They yelled simoultaneusly. They yelled again.
"GET! DOWN!"
The captain sent the UR Signal ouit and within seconds five motorbikes cam speeding off the roads and across the sand to the docks. The men carrying the drugs out turned quickly and through them back onboard as The Freelancer snapped the ropes of and yanked the wooden plank onboard. As he lept onboard the boats began roaring and moving away.
"Bastards!" The freelancer yelled as they pulled away with speed.
"Try and pull one over me you.." he didn't finsh his sentance but began firing rounds into the crowd from his pistol.
"Idiots!" he shouted as he fired.
When he was out of range he kept his pistol loaded and headed to the captain. As he slammed the door open he shouted,
"What the HELL happened out their!?!?!"
He turned from the captain to the gunners who were holding Canine down.
"You!"
He aimed his pistol to Canine and felt the cold trigger rubbing against his finger.
"What are YOU doing here!?....WELL!?"
--------
On the deck the large guns were turned to the horizon, watching for any other boats.
"Jesus Christ" Called one of the bikers, now onbord operating the guns.
"I kno...Hey, over their-frigates. This is definatly NOT a trade route".
"What?! Its a Fucking ambush!"
The Freelancer stepped through the door and took up a place with a large machine gun.
"All gunners to starboard!"
A rush of men headed to the side and aimed weapons over the side.

Canine struggled against the men who were pinning him down, but calmed when he heard the metallic click of the hammer of a pistol being brought back.

"I'm... Chief Jack Krupke from Interpol. Your people have been causing some serious trouble all over the world, what with your drug running an d such. I think perhaps we should have a little chat, hmm?"

---

Back at Ratchet Command, Chief Metcalfe stood over the comm engineer who was listening to the live feed from Canine.

"He's used the fake name sir. If they run any background checks, they'll find a complete ID for a Jack Krupke, currently in the employ of Interpol."

Metcalfe nodded. "Let's hope they don't put a bullet in him. They're smart; they've slipped through our net dozens of times. But people get mad... and when they get mad they make mistakes. Losing out on a sale of coke could make people very mad indeed."
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 13:58
The Freelancer looked hard at Krupke.
"Ok, Krupke. You have a choice, and it is a choice. You can either tell me everything you know about Interpol, and this bust, or you can go away with a special prize"
As he spoke the last line The Freelancer tapped his gun, still trained on Krupke.
"Tick Tock Jacky Boy"
The Freelancer through three pairs of Heavy Duty Handcuffs to the two men holding Krupke. They immediatly put one pair to his hands, behind his back, one pair to his ankels and kept another pair close.
"Right, string him up" Said the Freelancer, smiling evily at Krupke.
He was strung to the ceiling by three large ropes, still handcuffed.
"Fancy a swim Jack?" sniggered the freelancer.
"Chris, run a full scan on Jack Krupfe"
"Sure"
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 14:32
"You do know you're making a biiiiig mistake. Every 5 minutes I send out a signal to Interpol to say I'm safe. It won't work if I'm sleeping with the fishes."

Canine did his best to try and keep the occupied, while he slipped down his electronic lockpick. An exceptionally advanced tool that causes the lock on any object to snap open.

"It's up to you. Kill me and have a team of Interpol soldiers all over you like a rash, or we talk this out."
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 14:39
"Jack, do you think I am stupid?"
He waited a moment.
"DO YOU THINK I AM STUPID!"
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 14:43
"Hell no! I've been reading up on you for several months. I probably know you better than your own mother. But, I know you're a bright fella. So don't do something stupid. Don't turn this into a very bad situation."

He nodded to Mercury.

"At least, not while ladies are present."
23-11-2003, 14:45
((: Hope this is cool if I just take up a guy who has worked with Freelancer for a long time. If not, then I'll make someone else up.))

*One of Freelancer's most trusted gunmen, a man of average hieght and average build, but a nortorius itchy but quick trigger finger, held his Glock 9mm to the back of Canine's head, pressing the barrel against his skull so he knew it was there.*

Tony: "Likewise to you, pal..."

((OOC2: For visual, image the main chara from GTA: III. That's Tony.))
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 15:03
"Well Jack, If you dont think I am stupid then do yourself a favour. Drop the pick! DROP IT!!!"
The freelancer glanced at Tony
"Check the cuffs"
23-11-2003, 15:07
Tony: "You got it."

*He reaches up with one hand to check the handcuffs on Tony, making sure they're tight. He keeps the gun pressed to Canine/Jack's head.*

((OOC: I'll let Dregruk decide if Canine was able to unlock the cuffs in time.))
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 15:21
Canine sighed and dropped his pick. Five seconds more and the lock would've popped open.

"Like I said, no nastiness whilst ladies are present, hmm?"
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 15:28
"I'm no fool Jack!"
The Freelancer swung his fist into the gut of Krupke.
"No more nastiness if you stop making me angry. Mercury, go get the box would you?"
Mercury dashes out and returns with a small box.
As she moves closer to The Freelancer he takes the box and opens it, revealing a small set of pills. Before he can say anything Chrsi tapped him on the shoulder and whispered to The freelancer. A few minutes later an angry look appeared on The Freelancer's face.

"Whats your name?!"
23-11-2003, 15:29
*Tony, upon seeing that the cuffs were still locked, nods.*

Tony: "They're still on."

*He stoops to pick up the lock pick.*
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 15:33
"MY name?! I just told you it!"

Canine decided to rile the Freelancer and his buddies.

"Or haven't you got enough braincells to remember something that happened 2 minutes ago? Hell, you're ugly enough..."
23-11-2003, 15:42
*Tony's hand whirls, slamming the butt of his handgun into the side of Canine/Jack's head.*

Tony: "So you think you're a wise guy, eh?"

*He pistol whips Canine a second time, making sure to hit him hard.*
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 16:01
"amn You Fool!"

The Freelancer fired a bullet out of the window behind Krupfe.

"We Know your'e not Jack Krupfe. Tell me Your name NOW!"
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 16:10
Canine's head was reeling from the blows from Tony.

"What... do you mean? It was... set up... My ID should be there..."
23-11-2003, 16:16
*Tony smirked.*

Tony: "Ain't no one buying that, pal. You can't pull one over on The Freelancer!"
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 16:30
Canine realized the game was up.

"Alright lads, you're gonna get the truth: I am Special Agent Canine. I'm here because you boys have caused too big a disturbance all over the world with your coke deals. Now, if you try to kill me, you'll have an entire team of Agents with high-tech gear here, and I don't think you'll come out well. If you come out at all..."
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 18:31
"Right, Canine. Thats better. I could kill you and run. Dump your body and go. But I think you might be usefull. Now, who else is involved in this ambush? We'v allready, apprehended Four men claiming to be from Interpol-are they with you? I want answers!"
23-11-2003, 18:56
mercury watches rather afraid, she new he was brutal but would Tony kill a man if he was ordered to? she thinks so.
She ponders leaving the drug baron and helping this poor special agent bu then thinks of the danger and decides against it.

"Hey babie, i'm goin back under, i don't want anythin happenin like blood on the floor, ok?"
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 19:00
The Freelancer smiles at Mercury,
"Ok, I'l, erm, try..."
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 20:00
"Four men?" Muttered Canine. "I'm on my own here. My partner was killed when we were tracking you 3 months ago. But 4?! What would they be wanting...?"

Canine rapidly tried to work out a way out of this situation. He was a stealth agent, not a heavy duty soldier.
23-11-2003, 20:08
mercury descended the steps, looking out of the window and seeing a strange shape come up in the horizon....
Pablicosta
23-11-2003, 20:37
"Ok Special Agent k9. Ruff Ruff. Ha ha. Canine, I have something you may wish to know. We are about to enter Free waters. If your as dumb as you look you won't know what that means. It means your poxy little agent friends can't touch us, if they do they'r gonna be held in court. So, once we are there, we can shoot you and send you swimming. You can swim, can't you Canine. So, to prevent this, difficult situation I suggest you start talking and stop thinking how to get away, beacuse right now it's VERY unlikely you are going to leave this boat....alive."
Dregruk
23-11-2003, 21:03
OOC: Edit, because the last post was krud

IC:

"GODDAMMIT FREELANCER! YOU'RE A FRIGGIN NUTBAR IF YOU THINK KILLING ME WILL DO YOU ANY GOOD!" Yelled Canine, "It's all on my contract. If I die on duty, then a search-and-destroy team is sent to my last noted location. Have you ever seen what those guys are like?! All that'd be left of you, your goon here," He nodded to Tony, "And your lady friend would be a few piles of ash. So if you're really crazy enough to kill me, go ahead: At least you'll all be joining me."
24-11-2003, 16:54
*Tony smirks, presses the gun to Canine's neck.*

Tony: "Whaddaya think, boss? Think he's telling the truth, or should I waste him right here?"
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 17:36
"No Tony, he lives-for now. Any bullshit and your dead though!"
Dregruk
24-11-2003, 18:01
"So now what happens? You try and figure out what I know, why I'm tracking you and if I don't co-operate you torture me? How cliched."
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 19:43
The Freelancer swung his gun out once again, stopping about an inch from canine's forehead.
"Stop giving me this! i don't want you to die! keep like this I'm Gonna have to!"
The Freelancer takes a moment and composes himself.
"Tell me then Agent Canine, do you have a family?"
Dregruk
24-11-2003, 19:47
Canine shook his head.

"Women complicate things. I'm a loner."
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 19:49
"So no-one will miss you?"
He removes his gun from aim.
"Anyway-tell me, how long have you been on our tail?"
Dregruk
24-11-2003, 19:54
"Pretty much since your first big deal. I've gotta admit, you're a smart cookie: All those fake ID's, addresses and high security systems... you have no idea how long it took us to finally trace you back to this boat."
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 20:00
"Right-and you know how we aford all this stuff?"
Once again he spins his gun in his hand and clicks the hammer back.
Dregruk
24-11-2003, 20:11
"Cocaine. The best stuff on the market, apparently. But you seem to fail to see what you're doing. When you sell that coke, you get a dozen more people hooked. Their lives waste away trying to find the money to fuel their habit. Crime has tripled in the place you're running coke to."
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 20:14
"Oh, your real smart. I thought you looked like a guy who could do his homework on us! Maybe not. Yeah, your right Coke gets us a bit of cash, but only enough to maintain the boats and buy enough drugs. You really have no idea do you?"
24-11-2003, 20:16
*Tony chuckled and shook his head slowly.*

Tony: "He's clueless."
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 20:22
The Freelancer shakes Tony's hand in a congratulating way,
"We must be better than we thought ey?"
24-11-2003, 20:34
Tony: "What can ya say, when yer the best, yer the best."

*He chuckled mockingly at Special Agent K9's ignorance.*

((OOC: Has no clue what's going on, but goes with the flow. ^^;; ))
Dregruk
24-11-2003, 20:47
Canine raised an eyebrow.

"So, what new depths of ignorant depravity have you fallen to now, eh? Weapons smuggling? Prostitution? I'm all ears..."
Pablicosta
24-11-2003, 21:34
The Freelancer fires a shot into the floor next to K9.
"Stop this now!!! Your life is in my hands, don't piss me off!!! Damnit, Interpol funds us to keep international relations good!"
Dregruk
24-11-2003, 21:50
"Well... that is a surprise. Like you said, my life is in your hands. And by the looks of things, you're heading towards a nervous breakdown."
24-11-2003, 23:45
*Tony's hand lashed out, slamming the butt of his pistol against the side of Canine's head.*

Tony: "You don't learn, do you? Fricking idiot."

A few miles out to sea, the container carrier S.S. Duke Solomon, registered from nonage, motors past the port.

Aboard, however, things are not all as they should be.

http://www.armedforces.co.uk/navy/listings/newlynxb.jpg

On the back of the massive ship is a helipad, on which rests two Lynx Mk.2 ASW helicopters. Armed men wearing civilian clothes enter the helicopters, which look fierce, especially with Kormoran missiles dangling off their sides. They take off, and head for the Freelancer with utmost speed. Each carries 5 IGHWS agents, plus crew. (LRR fleet)

The agents check their H&K G-36 assault rifles and backup .45 M1911s, as well as make sure they have their badges and handcuffs in their pockets. The crew chiefs cock the .50 machine gun mounted in the windows, and the pilots prepare the targeting systems on the Kormorans.
25-11-2003, 03:32
A small boat edges around the island where the Freelancer is docked. The boat has an outboard motor but the two occupants are rowing it with muffled oars. They glide to a slow stop just in view of the docked boat. One man picks up a pair of binoculars and gazes towards the boat with the Freelancer on board.
"God damn they are heavily armed, this may be our toughest job yet Jack." The other man open a box in the bottom of the boat and begins putting together his rifle.
"I won't let the bastard get away Phil. This guy has slipped past to many times."
Phil grins broadly, "Yeah plus we don't want the military boys to have all the fun."

"Base, this is Kingfisher 1. We have the target in radar range."
"Roger that, Kingfisher 1. When you are in range you have permission to engage."
"Roger that."

The agents continue to look over their weapons, not about to have them jam in the middle of the raid. Several agents have grenade launchers and RPGs attached to their weapons. They are dressed in traditional navy blue sweaters and grey-green denim pants, and on top of this outfit they wear life jackets, as well as lightweight flak vests.

"Target in visual range!"
"Prepare to engage!"

The two helicopters peel off and go in on two sides of the ship, very low and fast. The Kormoran missiles are in case the ship's crew puts up too much of a fight, in which case they would blow away the ship.

(By the way, none of the helicopters and/or weapons and agents have anything on them that would identify them as more than INTERPOL.)

Along with the lynxes, there is also a Sea Knight, bearing LRR fleet colors. It lands in the port, just in front of the freelancer's ship, from across the island. It deposits a force of 30 LRR marines.

"ON THE GROUND! ON THE GROUND!"

The marines shoot their G-36s just over the heads of the people on the ship. The helicopter's twin dual 7.62mm mounts point twoards the deck also. The two lynxes deposit their parties of agents, who run up to the freelancer's ship and jump aboard, weapons cocked and on full automatic.

"ALL HANDS TO GUNS!!! INCOMING TO THE EAST!!!"

As the click came from the mic men were seen floding the decks and manning large turret guns. Others picked up their high power rapid fire rifles and began following the two choppers accross the sky.
In side the bridge The Freelacer kicks K9 in the gut and pulls him up, still cuffed.

The two lynxes use their high speed and high performance to their advantage, speeding away from the ship, but not before loosing two more Kormorans. One of the lynxes is hit in the starbord engine, but stays aloft. The the two lynxes return to the Duke Solomon.

"Control, we've encountered heavily armed resistance. We might need some heavier firepower."
"Roger that. We've got a hind and a Fennec ready to go."
"They'll be needed, thats for sure."

The Hind and Fennec are rolled out onto the rear helipad, where they warm up their engines. The brutish hind and small, neat fennec stand in sharp contrast to eachother, the hind laden with weapons and the Fennec armed with a two-missile TOW pod and small cannon.

As a missile strikes the Lynx xhopper a cheer goes up from the deck, but is silenced by The Freelancer.

"Their gone for now, call ASB (Assistance and Support Beuro) get something to shw 'em when they come back. Oh, and do something about that ship would you?"

Immediatly omne crew member starts chattering into a mouthpiece for air support from the land base.

"ETA 3 minutes sir, 4 Hind choppers and whatever else they can scramble"

"Hind choppers?! Jesus Christ, this is a bigger outfit than we ever imagined..." He drifted off into mindless mumbling

"Whoa! You guys erally don't get told anything do you? We have the equivalent to a small army in men waiting to fight any land attack at our stock houses, plenty of air support and two subs-aswell as a vastammount of surface boats...Ha,20 years ago we had two dinghys and a quiad bike..."

"Psycho... you're preparing for a god-damn war. Against who? The world? Launch a few ICBMs here and there, then watch the fireworks?"

**whips butt of pistol into K9's face**

"NO, we don't want a war-we just wanna be able to sell our gear, make some cash ad get on with it. And on that note-heres our friends"

Four Hind choppers are flying slowly at pretty high altitude towards the boat-beneath them 4 dual launch boats speed on.

[Dual launch bhoats are pretty much converted trawlers-stripped and made a lot smaller. Then just replace the cargo area with two heli/vertical jet launch pads and you're there]

"I see... but selling gear doesn't usually involve having an entire army at your back. It's usually more disappear silently than blow the Hell out of the people who upset you."

"Yeah, I guess thats how you see it...I can't blame you really...We need the force-our team, as you now, is the best in the world, probably even galaxy with our interstellar operation. Our Coke is sweet as a nut, and everyone wants a piece of it. The fact is, in the lab we neautralize the addictive parts of the drugs and then take it to market. Every drug barron, dealer or addict wants some-and they try anything to get hold of it.
Marco Simione, notorius rich Italian-clean as a whistle, untill we came along. He saw our stuff and wanted the buisness, all of it, and the way to get it was to take us out. He gathered one hell of a mafia army and sent an assault. We got away in the dinghies but lost £3million worth of coke. For four weeks he was three million quid richer, untill our boys got hold of him. Most brutal killing for 50 years, thats what the paper said-but sicne that day we built an army to our name-now no-one comes too close.

Any more questions K9?"

The lynxes return to the ship, just in time to see the hind and fennec lifting off, but headed the wrong way. They were to fly out to sea for a good few miles to avoid the incoming forces picked up by the Duke Solomon's radar.

"All defensive systems on-line!"
"Prepare for battle!"

The duke solomon is a rather big target, so it does not go undefended. Goalkeeper CIWS mounts are activated, which swing in the direction of the incoming helicopters. Harpoon launchers are also activated, and the Solomon prepares to defend itself.

From beneath the decks a cry goes up-

"Enemy lift off detected, heading our way, two choppers, ones a Hind, couldn't tell you anything of the other"

The speach hurries up through the decks untill The Freelancer yells,

"INCOMING, two attack choppers, armed heavily launch the defence ad arm yourselfs. Support, get to the East and fire of rounds to them before they get to us, try and get them to fire off the big guns into the sea, and please...don't die"

Then there was a hurry of memn again picking up guns as the three dinghies spead off to the east, armed with high power machine guns and a gunman they could inflict large ammounts of damage top incoming choppers.

The two helicopters quickly pick up the dinghys.

"We've got a couple little boats coming our way."
"Lets take care of them first, eh?"
"Missile range in five....four....three....two......we're in Sniper range. Seeker heads are locked."
"Ok. Fire when ready."

The Hind looses a trio of Sniper ATGMs at the dinghys, from a range of ten miles. The Fennec scans the surrounding sky, prepared to ward off hostile aircraft with its eight stingers.

---Onboard Dinghie 1

"Incoming, distance at 4 miles, full speed and dodge"

Without reply the dinghie picks up speed and begins weaving. The projectile follows their movements as it gets closer.

"Incoming at 1 mile, prepare assault manouver"

The gunman steps up behind his gun and begins firing toward the missile as it turns to come at them from behind. It follows but faster than the boat.

"Incoming at 200ft-MOVE"

The dinghie hits top speed and begins bobbing on the water as the missile closes in. Too close. The crew steer the dinghie to the left and then right, then right again. The manouver was just in time as the missile descended under the waves and exploded.

"Nice work guys, radio in that we've taken out one missile, and that it looks like a good few stingers are on board, watch the air support. tell them they are probly gonna need the two speeders releasing. And then, then get us back behind the Hind"

"Yes sir!"

The dingie turns and begins speeding through the rough sea water towards the clearly visable duo of choppers.

---Onboard the other dinghie

"Incoming missile, seeker, range of about 1 mile"

"Readying dive manouver-10"

The crew don their small air converters, which can change oxygen in the water to breathable oxygen. They move to the edge of the dinghie, but continue manning it.

"Ready, impact in 5. GO"

The driver yanks on a cord beside him and the singhie alll but stops, but nopt before each member has thrown himself overboard and dived down. From well beneath the surface they watch the rubber vessel deflate and start sinking. Soon it is at their depth and they grab it, just in time to observe a blue explosion on the surface, then another. Moments later they are hit by a wave of water throwing them deeper under the surface. When the sea has calmed a little they begin to make their way to the surface, with the deflated dinghie. Upon reaching the surface they pull a second cord on the lifeless boat and it begins to spring back up, pumping air into it and regaining its former shape. Within about 3 minutes their vessel is sea worthy once more and the pressent danger has passed.

"Now, get us back on course Ed"

The engine shudders at it releases a few hairy revs and begins turning over-proppeling them through the water, back towards the Hind and fennec.

---Onboard the main Boat

"Jack, whats the info on those dinghies?"Calls the Freelancer thrpough his mobile.
"Looks good, both back up and moving towards the incomings-Gerry called in, wanna hear it?"

"Give it to me"

---Muffled voice

"This is Dinghie 1, wer' clear of the missile ut I reckon you're gonna need to launch both speeders, get this Hind dealt with. Oh, and from what we could sea, this ship is a good sized target-heavily guarded but Jackal and Inferno could deal with them. [Jackal & Inferno are codenames for the subs]"

"Do as the man says, launch the speeders, arm them with guidance missiles and allert the subs-get them as close as possible to the ship and fire off at them"

"Yes Sir"

The comms commander begins talking into a small mouthpiece to therest of the widely spred team.

"Oh, so they wanna play rough, eh?"
"Let's give 'em a 30mm lunch."

The hind's 30mm automatic cannon begins tracking the dinghy. The Fennec also bears down on a dinghy, ready to use its twin 20mm cannon pods on the other dinghy.

Tracer rounds arc twoards the two dinghys from the helicopter. By this time, the lynxes are repaired and re-armed, and have taken off again, this time laden with four Kormorans each. They mean buisiness.
