ooc: why are you rewarding no susidization? this seems like it has nothing to do with economics and everything to do with liberal pseudo-science pretending to economics.

industry subsidization is critical to capitalist economies since it allows businesses to absorb losses at the cost of civil society. why is this important? because if this money didn't go from government to industry where do you think they'd cut costs from? they'd slash healthcare, lay off workers, raise number of hours worked and quotas required; corporations would have to do go back to the tactics they used in the early 20th century in order to turn profit.

fuck that, i'll stick with corporate welfare, it's the only way we can get those bloodsuckers to do what they ought to be doing anyway.

Actually I think you misunderstood my thoughts and my ecconomic concepts. So I will explain them...

Some corporate welfare is needed, if nothing more than to help businesses employ more people. The question is the effectiveness of the programs, and not letting corporations be "pigs at the trough" I've tended to try and maintain low industrial subsidies while gaining high ecconomic output. In reality the concept is 'optimization' getting the greatest amount of gain for the lowest amount of puplic money/tax breaks invested in the industrial infa-structure. I'm not about to tax my railroads to death to pay for my highways building.

I should also note that I consider many government programs of corporate welfare to be wastefully over funded...and some are very poorly orginized, demanding wasteful spending...hell I'm typing on a computer that was bought with government funds not because it was 'needed' but because I had to spend it.
