Military Budget: $44,330,980,283

The United Socialist States of Lietuveska is a huge, devout nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 212 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 91%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Book Publishing.

The nation is currently revamping its entire education system, surveillance cameras are banned, military funding has been stripped back, and people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown. Lietuveska's national animal is the Silver Stallion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Lita.

The President of the United Socialist States of Lietuveska wishes to give his wholehearted belief that our nation shall rise as a power in the future, and that he hopes to make many friends in the world. Just now have we become engaged in international politics, and we hope that this will be a great time indeed for our nation. We wish to offer our nation open for new diplomatic relations with those that see democracy, freedom, and liberty as true virtues in living. Though we are a democratic Socialist state, we do respect capitalist nations greatly. Godspeed to the international community, and may God help us all prosper.

Hail to the Lietuv Nation!

Apart from the rather unorthodox poses your government officials seem to take for their official photographs, your nation looks like it would make an excellent member of the Coalition of Anti Capitalist Economies (www.invisionfree.com/forums/cace). You are invited to send a delegation to the CACE's HQ in Celdonia to meet with not just CACE nations but the many diverse groups that have set up shop in the Celdonia diplomatic quarter.

Again, we are not anti-capitalist, and could not possibly be a part of an organization that is, because that is simply not our belief. The President wishes to thank you for the offer however, and the Council of Ministers also sends its thanks. However, again, the mere name of the organization is simply not our agenda. We are not "anti-capitalist", better yet we are "pro-socialist."

The Emperial Dominion would like to congratulate you on a new nation, as we have been around the sun a few times. We would like to propose a Non-Agression pact with each other, and maybe later in our future could become much stronger allies.

Thank you for your time,

Perhaps we should have made it clear before.

The USSL is a highly pacifistic nation that looks out for the welfare and prosperity of other nations. Those that rely heavily on military tend to have lower respect from us, hence our minimal 5% use of the national budget on the military.

Therefore, at this time, we are not searching for allies or treaties, just friends. However, Daikerta's opposition to Jews and Homosexuals, which we found when our nation researched previous action after November 16, 2003, is a bad omen for a relationship between our nations. As our Vice President is bisexual and Jewish, it is not received lightly by Lietuvs that such a stance is taken by Daikerta.

Therefore, any alliance or friendship with Daikerta is not possible, though trade and a neutral relationship would definately be seen with happiness from the USSL. :)

President Weston has just appointed a new Minister of Trade and Economy, therefore shifting Trade from the Ministry of Transportation and Infastructure, headed by Kareema Naiguna. The new Minister of Trade and Economy is Jennifer Dalton, one of the President's close friends.

It is regarded by top political experts in the nation that Ms. Dalton will bring new ideas to solving the poor state of the Lietuv economy, and has constructive new plans to help the standard of living for all Lietuvs.

To clarify regarding the offer of my colleague from SeOCC, CACE is not a hostile or aggressive organization, despite its name. The CACE is, first and foremost an organization that maintains an economic autarchy and upholds the spirit of mutual aid in both our trading agreements and in the event that an aggressor chooses to engage in hostile action against a member nation.

We feel that your nation would benefit greatly from both the advice of SeOCC economic advisors and from the trade autarchy, in which trade agreements are non-exploitative and between nations that do not sanction, explicitly or otherwise, exploitative and oppressive labor practices.

We invite you to reconsider your earlier decision, and to read our Charter for further clarification should you require it. If you require additional information regarding the Charter, our member nations will most certainly oblige. If your Charter is amenable to your needs and goals, we encourage you to send a delegation to the CACE HQ in Celdonia.

Warmest regards,

HVITTSTED (Nov. 23) -- Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it is filing an application to join the United Nations. This is action is seen to have taken place in order to gain a foothold in the Coalition of Anti Capitalist Economies. This move is supported by Social Progressives and Labour Democrats in the Getczechen. The MEF (Maata Environmental Front) and the LCP (Lietuv Conservative Party) are divided on the matter, increasing political trouble for both of those parties, who contain a minority of seats in the Getzcechen.

According to a recent Avstem Poll (similar to Gallup Poll), 42% of Lietuvs are unaware what the United Nations is. In short, the United Nations is a body of nations from around the world (and galaxy) that convene to make laws to protect and serve nations. Many, who tend to be leftist, consider the UN a shrine in which all nations should base their example. Others, such as right-wingers, consider the UN as too gripping and powerful. Tolitarian regimes tend to ignore the UN as whole. The UN is an organization in which human rights and freedom are top priorities, and is said by the President to be a worthy organization.

Small protests, not over 1,000 people, have taken place in Hvittsted concerning this new application to join the UN. Police officers have been sent to only monitor the protestors, and are not armed with riot gear. The President hopes to make a speech later this afternoon regarding this new UN application.

HVITTSTED (Nov. 24) -- Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that membership in the UN has been confirmed, and government officials are working hard to create a new office within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to deal specifically with UN matters. In response, a flood of applications from newly graduated college students has hit the Ministry, and this new Office of UN Affairs is expected to hire an extra 21,000, improving the unemployment rate, which has been going down since President Weston was inaugurated several months ago.
The President has voiced his utmost happiness at the UN confirmation, and has already ordered a vote on the current UN resolution. While the Blått Hus (Blue House) has not yet confirmed what position it took on the current resolution, it assured Lietuvs that the information would be out soon.

Howdy!

Just dropping you a line, consider this unofficial, particularly as your nation is.. socialist. But speaking of informality, I would be interested in, ah, a meeting with your Minister of Information, Minister of Health, Education and Culture, Minister of Trade and Economy, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. Oh, and your Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection, too. I suggest a neutral location, private, to, ah, discuss matters of the Conglomerate giving your ministers ....guidance in the very important... affairs.... of running a country.

However, apparently the nation of Santa Barbara thinks that all Lietuv females are whores that would drop their pants on a dime. Not at all. Perhaps your women (and men) are a bunch of sex-craved whores with brains the size of peas, but our people have too much dignity and pride to be insulted at your lack of respect.

Excuse me? This unprovoked accusation coming from a socialist nation which obviously chooses its government leaders according to how good looking they are?

The nation of Santa Barbara, it should be noted, thinks nothing. Unlike you communist hive-minded simpletons, its billions are individuals who have their own individual preferences and opinions. We apologize if you were unable to grasp this concept, and thus made unjust and inaccurate assumptions based on less than all the facts.

I don't like having to respond to the propaganda spewed forth by every little commie that comes crawling out of the slime, so perhaps your so-called ministers would do best to refrain from making slanderous and public comments about my people.

The United Socialist States of Lietuveska is highly offended.

Hive-minded simpletons? Communist?!

Perhaps your intolerance and lack of education have led you to believe the above. We are a socialistic democracy, in which people choose, elect, and say things freely. We are very much like RL Sweden. It appears that Santa Barabara's people are clearly taught to generalize societies. We do not embrace capitalism, but we feel that it is a rather good system for countries who wish to enjoy it. A large majority of Lietuvs are sufficiently happy with our economic and government system. Your brainless insults are taken with anger here.

Your claims that we choose people in government by looks is ridiculous. Every official we hire is chosen because of merit, and nothing else. Your attempts to make us appear "dumb" are wrong, as we are an intelligent people. Our tolerance is unmatched by your lack of acceptance of different economic and government systems.

Propaganda? We have "spewed" no such thing. Again, we are democratic and open, people freely elect who they want, and very often. Our nation is an example to be followed by those that like the socialist system. We do not try to persuade capitalist economies to become socialist, or vice versa. Therefore, we cannot simply grasp why you think us lower than you.

Mister Foreign Minister, we are not attempting to make you look "dumb." If you ask me, you've already done a bang-up job yourself. I particularly enjoyed how you said "Perhaps your women (and men) are a bunch of sex-craved whores with brains the size of peas" and then wondered why we think ill of you?

And naturally, according to you, your economic system is favored by a majority of the people, and of course, according to you, the immediate correlation between your ministers appearance-- eerily resembling actors and models-- and their positions of power mean NOTHING about your cultural values! My point remains, and your obvious hostility and anger is probably the result of your lack of education.

I myself was educated and graduated first in my class at Trigo University, Isla Vista-- a nation rated among the top 1% of the worlds smartest citizens. Nor am I a pea-brained sex-crazed whore, thank you.

Perhaps your nation would take care to be more respectful in foreign affairs. I strongly recommend you cease your ignorant prattle, which again is completely unjust, incorrect and unwarranted.
