Twelve Hundred and forty-six years ago, nomads began rooting themselves on the wide open land (about the equivalent land area of the old USSR). They hunted the great beasts of the plains and were self-sustaining and happy to be living with the Earth and its spiritual counterparts.
The new tribes thrived, finding more ways to use the plains animals as not to waste any parts. Better rocks were found that made sharper and more durable weapons. Everything was as good as could be imagined.
In one tribe, an evil and meniachial chief started producing enough spears, arrows, and other weapons to begin his campaign of war. He led his tribe through the plains, conquering those more peaceful than his. For 50 years, Chief Harengu terrorized those under his rule.
As time progressed, the people under the Harenguan rule were forced to make more weapons and conquer more tribes. The chief was aging and on his deathbed, so he appointed his eldest son--also named Harengu-- to be the new leader.
During the Harengu Jr. reign, things returned to a state where everybody was happy and lived their lives with greater freedom than those of the previous Harengu. That eventually led to the downfall of the Harengu tribe. Upon hearing of the Harengu's murdersome territory expansion, another warlord from the west decided to expand his power of control. Just when the tribesmen thought they could live their lives, the more evil overlord decided to take it They managed to fight a valiant war that lasted 115 years, but the evil Osa harnessed the technology of gunpowder and firearms, making the Harengue tribe disappear for good.
The overlord's grandson took over the land and oppressed the people for a great many years. He made definitely sure that his sons were not as easy on the people as Harengue Jr. For 964 years, the Osa tribe ruled over the land, making great technological advances as they went. The Osa tribe forged steel into blades, invented the motorized engine, and was using tanks and large battleships in war. The problem was that only the rich and powerful were happy, with the others in a state of feudal serfdom.
When King Osa XXXVI died, he passed the throne down to Osa XXXVII. Osa XXXVII was the worst of them all. He openly tortured people and forced them into dungeons for no good reason. If the other Osas ruled with an iron fist, then Osa XXXVII ruled with two. He physically moved the country to a region of the world known for its fascism, called Fascist Paradise. It was then that the world was exposed to the horrors of the Osas. Other Fascist Paradise nations introduced our nation to the nuclear age.
The nation of Higera had just embraced world Socialism and was watching Fascist Paradise with great interest. Their region of the world, Communist Paradise, was kept informed of Fascist Paradise's regional happenings. Comrade Grant, the leader of Higera at the time, declared war on the nations of Fascist Paradise. Osa XXXVII declared war back, and the troops were sent off to fight Higera.
The other nations in Fascist Paradise also declared war. One crazy Emperor bombed his own country with nuclear weapons, just so that the Socialists wouldn't get to them first. The trapped citizens were now forced to go and fight a war against stronger opponents that only wanted to help.
One man, Colonel Cav, was not going to watch as his nation was brought to the brink of demise while an iron-fist fascist took the country's money and ran away. He rallied the men in his brigade, and they turned around to fight the government and Osa XXXVII. When Osa XXXVII heard of this, he ordered 100,000 men to guard the castle with all their will and might. Osa XXXVII knew Cav could not get his small brigade of 5,000 through that.
Cav's men stopped for the night before they were to take the castle. He had heard stories of the hundred thousand men, armed to the teeth, waiting for him to cross over that hill and make his way to the castle. Second-guessing his actions, he decided to take a walk. While walking through the fields where his ancestors had fought a thousand years ago, he saw something in the sky. It was a sword and shield, surrounded by this amazing white light. Cav heard a voice. It was the voice of God Himself.
"Cav, kneel."
"Yes, Lord." He took a knee and bowed his head.
"Cav, you are fighting the good fight. You will prevail in this conflict. The man in power now must relinquish his rule. You will lead your men to victory, and you will have My Blessing."
"Thank you, Lord. I will not let You down."
The sword and shield came to the ground, and Cav picked them up. He had never held a sword before, but he handled it like an expert. He returned to the camp and told the men what happened. The next day would be a day of change.
Cav and his men awoke in the early hours of the morning. It was still dark, and they had to drive their tanks with night vision goggles on. When every tank was up and moving, the wind started gusting. Climbing the hill, the rain started to fall. When the tanks were at the top of the hill, a lightning bolt struck the middle of the field below. The faces of one hundred thousand men lit up. The stories were true.
Cav made a promise to God, and he was not about to break it. He made one more call over the radio. "Men, affix bayonets." He waited a few seconds for the order to be carried out, then yelled, "Charge!"
The tanks rolled down the hill. The men below yelled and ran up the hill. With the rain pouring, the wind blowing, and the lightning striking, the two groups were about to clash.
Lightning struck the wet ground, causing men to be electrocuted or blown off their feet. The wind blew men over and the rain pounded them down.
The tanks raced down the hill, firing their volleys out into the open field, where line after line of men waited. Visibility was very reduced because of the rain, and the men didn't see the shells coming until it was too late. Running over those immediately in front of them, the drivers took care of a lot of people. The gunners gunned down those who the drives and lightning missed.
The sound of bullets hitting the armor on the tanks resonated and made the insides sound like a fire alarm was going off. It seemed as if there were too many men to break through. The lightning still struck, the rain still poured, and the wind still blew.
The men were still vastly outnumbered. One by one the tanks began breaking down, due to bullet damage, or sometimes grenade damage. When that happened, the gunner remained in the tank and fired as many volleys he could into the crowd below. The remaining 3 tank crew took as much ammunition they could fit and went outside into the elements.
Finally, there were no more operating tanks. Cav took his sword and gun and went out to fight the still oncoming men. He fired every shot he had in his ammo magazines, and more kept coming. The men were finding themselves out of ammo and staring down about 45,000 men yet. Although the odds were now better for them, things still looked grim.
Suddenly, the rain stopped. The sun came out, and all 45,000 men looked up to see what was going on. From out of nowhere, bombs fell as the Higeran bombers flew overhead. They exploded about 10 feet above ground, sending shrapnel flying everywhere. The blast waves liquefied the internal organs of anyone standing around, and the shrapnel cut through the rest like a knife in warm butter. Cav and his men already had taken positions within the tank columns, and were unharmed by the blast.
The odds were suddenly in Cav's favor. The remaining survivors were so disoriented by the blast and the constant physical constraints put on them be the weather that most were deaf and had lost their internal equilibrium. Cav saw this as a pivotal moment, and he called for another charge. He drew the sword given to him, and the others ran forward with their knives and bayonets. They slaughtered the remaining men and made their way for the castle.
The castle was a large, almost impenetrable fortress, but the storm had done major damage to the wall integrity. With the help of the bomb blasts and some tank rounds fired at the walls, there was a clear opening through the stone. Cav's men took that entrance and fanned out through the castle.
The villagers in the town had seen the battle and rushed out to help Cav and his men. They grabbed pitchforks and their home shotguns and moved for the field. They checked the bodies laying around first, grabbing guns and making sure that everyone was dead. They waited outside and stood guard at the castle entrances.
There were too many men for the castle guard to handle. Most of the guards had been sent outside to stop Cav's men from stepping foot inside. Cav made his way easily to Osa XXXVII's chambers.
Osa XXXVII had a surprised look on his face when he saw Cav and a group of men with rifles burst through the door. Cav wasted no time in killing Osa, as he had seen too many movies where the hero has a swordfight with the villain. Instead, he took the already bloodied sword and put it through Osa XXXVII's chest. His men shot the others in the room, and now the evil fascist government had fallen.
Cav sat down in the chair of the now late dictator, exhausted from the combat. He had never seen so many dead, not even when watching the mandatory execution movies the government forced upon the citizens.
One of his men remarked, "Hey, you look pretty good in that chair."
"No, I can never rule this land. Nobody can. The people must be the leaders, as this is their country." He put the sword down and shut his eyes.
The new tribes thrived, finding more ways to use the plains animals as not to waste any parts. Better rocks were found that made sharper and more durable weapons. Everything was as good as could be imagined.
