A betting pool brought to you by the Menelmacari Gaming Commission

As you may know, GDODAD is back - again. So, we've got a betting pool on for how long it will last - again. Out of principle I've put this in a separate topic.

Rules for the MGC's "How Long Will it Last This Time???" game:

1. Each guess costs M€500 thousand, and should be expressed in hours.

2. The MGC skims 10% off the top, and the closest guess wins the remainder of the pot.

3. Each entrant can make more than one guess.

4. For determining which guess is right the times will be measured from TST's original post on the GDODAD thread, which is here:
GDODAD returns! (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2161756#2161756)

Enjoy, and good luck!

"Dictators, eh? Do we like them, Durin?"

"No, Sire."

Pol considered this for a moment. "Okay. Send a letter and some money, whatever the exchange rate is now, to the Lady Sirithil. Put me down for 528 hours."

"Yes, Sire."

Edit: Originally 504 hours, but Belem chose that after I did.

In a distant village in the exotic land of Agria an old man was sitting listening to other old men when a boy came running.

"Granpa! Granpa! They are reviving the GDODAD!"[´/i]

The old man didn't seem at least interested but continued to talk to the other old men. After all, weather, old pains and Coffee were discussed.

[i]"But granpa, the elves are having a big contest where they let people bet money and the one that can guess how long the GDODAD will survive this time may win a lot!"

The old man shrugged, but with a glimpse of interest sparkling in his eye.

"win what boy?"

"A lot of gold granpa! I heard there were a hoard just lying there waiting to be won"

The old man raised his head: Gold you say?"

The boy nodded and the old man begun to get something out of his pocket.

"With gold we could buy our village a new cow and some hens and maybe we could finally build that weathermill so we could get our own flour"

The old man bend forward and threw something on the ground. He peered at it and looked dreamingly.

"Boy, go up on the attic and bring me the purse. Joseph, you go fetch some eggs to sell. William, ask old Sarah what her forthnights with the soldiers brought her. Then send a pigeon and bet it all on 9 days. The bones have spoken..."

GDODAD will last as long as the nations are part of it are still around. Even when the allaince breaks up, those same nations will bring it up again and again.

And until we stop those nations, not the allaince itself, GDODAD will last.

Well, that too (*puts IF on blacklist for knowing too much*), but more because our mighty armies will crush anything in their path.
