Kaukolastan Announces New Research
The Ministry of Defense, disgusted by the recent abused of KE weapons, has decided to pursue a new path of defensive and possibly offensive weaponry. Reviewing the confiscated papers of 1930's scientist Nikola Tesla, military scientists are hard at work to militarize his Tesla Coils and his Particle Weapon "Death Ray". This is highly theoretical for now, with no known schedule for release.

Out of the incredible danger these weapons pose to humanity at large, the Most Holy Principality orders Kaukolastan to cease all research into these objects. This is non-negotiable.

In the midst of Colorado's own incredible electrical displays, Tesla would sit taking measurements. He soon found the earth to be "literally alive with electrical vibrations." Tesla came to think that when lightning struck the ground it set up powerful waves that moved from one side of the earth to the other. If the earth was indeed a great conductor, Tesla hypothesized that he could transmit unlimited amounts of power to any place on earth with virtually no loss. But to test this theory, he would have to become the first man to create electrical effects on the scale of lightning.

The laboratory that rose from the prairie floor was both wired and weird, a contraption with a roof that rolled back to prevent it from catching fire, and a wooden tower that soared up eighty feet. Above it was a 142-foot metal mast supporting a large copper ball. Inside the strange wooden structure, technicians began to assemble an enormous Tesla coil, specially designed to send powerful electrical impulses into the earth.

On the evening of the experiment, each piece of equipment was first carefully checked. Then Tesla alerted his mechanic, Czito, to open the switch for only one second. The secondary coil began to sparkle and crack and an eerie blue corona formed in the air around it. Satisfied with the result, Tesla ordered Czito to close the switch until told to cease. Huge arcs of blue electricity snaked up and down the center coil. Bolts of man-made lightning more than a hundred feet in length shot out from the mast atop the station. Tesla's experiment burned out the dynamo at the El Paso Electric Company and the entire city lost power. The power station manager was livid, and insisted that Tesla pay for and repair the damage.

For nine months Tesla conducted experiments at Colorado Springs. Though he kept a day-to-day diary that was rich in detail, the results of his experiments are not clear. One question has never been definitively answered: Did Tesla actually transmit wireless power at Pikes Peak?

There are some reports that he did transmit a signal several miles powerful enough to illuminate vacuum tubes planted in the ground. But this can be attributed to conductive properties in the ground at Colorado Springs.

LOL

The Empire of Morgain, while offering no monetary support, does support your endeavors. We'd be happy to sell you whatever material you need! We do insist, however, that all payments be made in precious metals.

(confidentially we think you're nuts as the "Tesla Death Ray" is bunk)

Now, this gives Kaukolastan several technical options. We can completely redesign the modern powergrid to do away with substations and wires, and use independantly operated controlled Coils to deliver power.

All Tesla Coils are designed spefically to prevent accidental discharge. In our military application, we would build them without a grounding coil so that they would "seek" their oppostite in whatever or whomever happened to be close. You can guess the horrifying results.

You can get really deep data on these from any good Electrical Engineering school. Or any bored EE student...

Honored Roanian Government,
We are sorry to disapoint you, but our research is our own. This technology could allow our nation to advance internally and externally. Our island structure would benefit drastically from this wireless power system, and it would also double as a communications setup and internet access through controlled EM bursts.

I can see how you may worry about the military applications, but this weaponry is primarily defensive in nature. We have yet to figure a way to miniaturize a power source for anything more portable than a battleship sized craft. These devices, as weapons, would allow us to defend our borders without fear. We appreciate your concern, but we are a sovereign nation, and you should respect it as such.

RE: Tesla Research

This technology is untried, and far too dangerous in anyone's hands. First it will be the coils. Then it would be the mind controls, the death rays, the earthquake generators. You would say that you have a right to defend yourself. But who today uses weapons that would require this?

OOC:"Wow, look at my sand castle!" Timmy said as he put the pile of sand atop his trench on the beach.

"I kill it!" Johnny cried, running over and smacking Timmy with his plastic shovel and kicking the sand.

Just a simile...

Re: Tesla Research

Modern technology is advancing rapidly, and we need to establish ourselves as a force if we are to remain in the coming years. This Tesla Technology, as it is untried, could give our nation an edge in a war. These are not WMD, although the Sympathetic Resonator could be contrued as such. These weapons are much safer and cleaner than any one of the many nuclear technologies pursued in the world, and have many civilian benefits. We will pursue this research with extreme prudence and security, but we will pursue it nonetheless.

We are wondering if any nation would like to join us in this endeavor or would like to purchase any of the resulting technologies.

NOTE: We have added the Sympathetic Resonator to our research list after reviewing its potential. We assure the world that we are not pursuing it on the scale that Tesla suggested in his theories, at least not yet.

We have heard unfounded reports that his magnetic spectrum shift cloak caused the mentioned incident, but we believe there is not enough evidence to justify calling off out test of this system on the Destroyer Aldridge.

One question: do you have the resonance frequence for earth?

That's the beauty of the sympathetic resonator (SR); it finds the frequency by itself and hits it. Tesla was actaully almost arrested for causing a minor quake in NYC when he affixed a small SR to a concrete slab. This technology could be used to demolish buildings with ease, or to shatter vehicles in one swipe, or to split the earth asunder... whichever you choose. We're personally doubtful of the last assertion, as the earth has many materials of varying density, but we're not willing to test that theory quite yet...

IC: We constructed our test Coil earlier this month, and it performed nicely, incinerated several test animals, and blasted apart an old main battle tank with contemptous ease. We are putting them into production and will be assembling them on the mainland, plus Isis, Osiris, and Tiber.

Secret IC: Also on Monolith.

IC: We will be testing some of the other technologies soon, and are hard at work on miniaturizing the coils. There will be a test of the Magnetic Spectrum Oscillator soon, and any nation may send delegates.
