In a feat surpassed only by Kaiser Brusilov and his tyrannical reign, Emperor Liu Bei has announcd a few minutes ago that his concentration camp chain across the Imperial Dominion has recored its 20,000th kill. This comes to great joy to government loyalists, but the increasingly militant protestors across Neo-Wu do not take kindly to this news bulletin. "Dammit Sly, are you listening to this?" Straken bellowed, bringing his fist down onto the table as he listened angrily to the radio give the report.
"Yeah, I hear it. We have to do something about it, soon." Sly said calmly, leaning back in the chair and crossing his arms. He blew out a ring of smoke from his cigar as he went over several different actions they can take in his head. Colonel Straken kept pacing back and forth near the oaken table, cursing to himself under his breath. The small overhead lightbulb bobbed back and forth, barely lighting the map and the radio laying on the table. Releasing the cigar from his lips, Sly began to speak.
"Look, staging protests obviously isn't working. All we are doing is sending innocents off to the camps to be used as slave labor or target practice for the Imperial Legions. We're gonna have to take the fight to the government." Sly began. "You have the 12th Mechanized under your influence now, right?" he asked the Colonel.
"Every single one of them, even the Commissar. What exactly are you planning?" Straken replied, stopping right in his tracks and staring down Sly.
"I want them to lay siege to the Grand Imperial Courthouse just outside of town, and declare the independence from the government's control. After that, we take Lorien for ourselves, and begin our fight against Liu Bei."
"Are you insane?! Openly challenging the rule of the Imperial Dominion? I know we have to do something, but this is a little extreme, not to mention premature! We need more time to bolster support!"
"Dammit Straken, we won't have any support if the government tracks us down and executes us for treason! I feel the same way you do, but if we hit the Emperor hard now, he will know we mean business, and so will the people. That is how we bolster support!"
Straken, veins pulsing out of his head, succumbed to Sly's reasoning and gave a slight nod. Turning to the stairway leading out of the warehouse, he reassured Sly that his mission will be completed, and soon.
