An honourless battle

The night was dark, the moon was dead and the light from the stars were blocked out by a blanket of clouds.
The crickets chirped in the grassy meadows as a truck drove over a remote desolate road. Inside the truck was a squad of soldiers. But not just any soldiers. They were part of Lion group.
The truck quietly drove towards an army base, somewhere in the Mountains near New Avalon, the earth capitall of Diablo_NL.

The truck approached the base's checkpoint and stopped. A young private walked up to the cab of the truck, as a tank behind the gates aimed it's cannon at it.
"ID and clearence papers please." The young private asked, and was quickly handed a few papers and an ID card. He looked through them and read the papers. "Hold on while I verify." He said and walked up to the guard office. "Yes... Number 47250... Okay." He said and waved at the tank, wich raised it's barrel. He pressed a button and the gates opened. The truck calmly drove inside the base and parked outside a hanger. The troops slowly got out the truck and walked inside it.

Moments later the hanger doors opened and a company of Battlemechs walked out, and calmly walked out of the base. The guard private din't really know if this was allright. But the base commander said it was okay.
All over the nation similair things were happening. A truck or more approaching a base or airfield. And the occupants taking Mechs, tanks, helicopters and planes.

William sat in his room and awoke from his meditation. He looked at the clock. Six hours early? This never happened before. He thought to himself. He walked out of his bedroom into his study and walked over to his desk. Still dressed in an emerald green robe he sat down and accesed the computer.
This is not right. Authorisation for troops to take units for night time combat training. He said and looked through the data. "No no no!" He screamed out and smashed his desk. Denting the thick oak wood with his fist.
"Natalya, wake up." He said over his com system. In her own room Natalya emediatly woke up and sat straight up in her bed. "Yes William, what is it?" She asked sleepishly. "Get dressed and armed. Then meet me in the royal barracks." William said and shut off the com. Natalya din't understand, but she knew William was serious about this.

In the royal barracks William met Natalya and gave her a welcoming hug. "What's that for?" She asked totally confused. "That might be the last time I can hug you old friend." He said and looked down on her. "Quickly. Wake up the troops."
A few minutes later the entire Royal regiment was awake and awaiting William's words.
"Listen up. It seems we are going to have a civil war on our hands. A group has taken over many of our army's main units and are heading right this way. Now we are outnumbered a hundred to one. But they no longer have the element of suprise. I want you all ready to fight these traitors as soon as possible. Now move out." William said and the men quickly armed up and get ready.

"William!" A man shouted from the streets. He ran over to William, and as he got closer he recognised the man as Liam. "William. The army has betrayed us. They are coming here to kill you." He shouted and stood before him, his head down as he rested his arms on his knees and panted. "I know Liam." William said. Liam looked up with a confused look on his face. "But how?" He asked. "Simple. I was warned by the devine." William smiled and looked to the west.

This was the moment Liam waited for as he drew his gun quickly and aimed it for William.
With blinding speed William grabbed him by the head, his hand on Liam's jaw and lifted him off of the ground. Liam din't expect this and started shooting at William's left shoulder.
The bullets all penetrated his flesh and blood spewed out, but William did not flinch.
"T-this can not be." He said frightened after he shot his magezine empty in his shoulder. William threw the man on the ground and quickly drew his sword, The Emerald Sword. And stabbed him in the stomach.
Natalya and a few guards came running to William after hearing the shots and were shocked at seeing Liam dead on the ground. "What happened. Are you allright?" She asked concerned. "He was a traitor aswell, and I'll be fine." William said as a medic looked at his shoulder, wich somehow not bleeding as badly as it should, and patched it up.
"How far is the enemy?" William asked Natalya. "The first 3 mech companies will be hear within half an hour." She anwserred. "Okay. We are probably already being jammed, so can't send out a message. Get in my ship. I'll join you if thing go to badly."

ooc: For know all this is unkown to anyone. You can have spy sats etc pick up the abnormall troop movement. But you don't know what's going on. After a few posts you can act upon it freely.

"Woah!"

The Commissioner sighed. If they were acting the goat again, he would have their guts for garters, so help-

He rounded the enclosure for the satcon team. "What the hell are you-"

"Sir, red flag on Diablo_NL."

The Commissioner's eyebrows flitted upwards. "Detail."

"Nothing concrete, sir, but I'm slapping a red flag on em anyway. Disturbing alteration of certain routines, sir. Encrypted transmissions that are carried out daily, to the second - they aren't there. I have a MISAT reporting unscheduled - so far as we know, at any rate - troop movements. Nothing spectacular - but it looks mighty suspicious, sir. They're either in lockdown, or..."

The Commissioner spared a few seconds. "Or?"

"War. Some kind of war. I don't hear anything about war, but my gut says that's it. Military disturbance, I'd wager - either they're expecting an invasion, or they consider internal security breached in some way. Military routines are just that, sir. Routine. And unless commcon has any news about Diablo_NL withdrawing diplomatic attache's from any other state..."

"No. At least, I've heard nothing," the Commissioner replied softly.

"Then..."

The Satcon Divisional Head spread his arms.

"Civil war," the Commissioner suggested softly.

"Could be. Might not be. Even so, I'd pass it up the COC, sir."

"Mmm. I want a flexi on my desk with all the details you can dredge up - five minutes, Fren."

The PHQ, Politicall Headquarters, was protected with a lot of automated weaponry, a couple of mechs, tank and helicopters. But not nearly enough to handle the size of the enemy approaching. Everyone knew this, yet they remained at their point.
The ground began to shake as the first mechs started to approach. Everyone got their weapons ready and pointed in the enemies direction.
A thick wall of white smoke appeared on the horizon. Making it hard to see what was approaching.

William walked up to the controll center and sat in a chair. The room much resembled that of the bridge of a ship. "All systems running smoothly?" He asked. "Yes sir. We even have increased power output to 110%." An middle aged female officer said. "Good. Faster recharges."
William grabbed some binocullars and look at the smoke. Nothing. Not even on our sensors. They must be using ECM suits. He thought to himself. He looked to the east of the smoke and there it was. Not clearly visible, but a lance of mechs, Shadowcat's to be precise, approaching fast. "Contact, fiftyfour degrees east! Fire at will!" He shouted.
Emediatly turrets with missle racks turned towards the approaching enemy. As the targetting computer locked on to them they released a stream of missles, leaving behind them a trail of smoke as they flew towards their target. The first missles hit the mechs slowing them down a little as they try to regain their balace. The second wave hit the mechs in their cockpits, stopping them in their tracks emediatly.

"Fire mortars into the smoke now!" William shouted, and mortar crews emediatly started firering.
Faint explosions could be heard from the smoke. And sometimes a bright explosion could be seen. There were things in the smoke, and they sometimes hit them. But the ground continued to shake as the mechs kept approaching them.
"Send two lances in the smoke to investigate." An officer said, and two lances emediatly started to walk away from the base into the smoke.

"All is clear." A voice said over the radio. "Wait. What's that? I can hardly see a thing, moving in closer."
A few seconds of silence follower. Wich soon turned into minutes. "Call them back emediatly." William said looking at the officer, wich emediatly called back the mechs. "Roger sir turning around." A few seconds pass when suddenly explosions could be heard. In the controll room things were hectic and everyone tried to regain contact, but all they got back was static.
"Fire mortars again. And launch missle full spread into the smoke." William said. And soon the base errupted in the noise of missle and mortar fire. Just like probabillity would dictate, they hit something here and their. But they din't know what or if it was destroyed.

Suddenly a barrage of missles came from the smoke and headed straight for the command center. As they drew nearer CIWS's took out most of the missles. But a few still hit the building.
Then all of a sudden the sounds of falling shells could be heard. And shells did fall. Enemy mortar and artillery fired onto the base, hitting troops and units hear and there. Then a large explosion and it suddenly ended. "Damage report?" William said, the only man still standing up in the command center. "Oh no. They got the power generator sir. power output is now 20%." Somone said, his voice sounding truely afraid.

Then from the smoke they came. First a few mechs, wich quickly turned to more. As they approached the base the turrets still with power fired on them, but after one shot the turrets went silent. The power grid just couldn't handle it anymore. The mechs opened fire on the base, and were greeted with the same.
"Contact, ten high." Someone shouted. "A bomber wing." He quickly followed up.
If I stay. I make an honourable stand. But if I do. All these men will die. He thought. He looked to the west and saw that the clouds were clearing up there, and the stars could once again be seen.

"Retreat! Get aboard the dropships! We are leaving the base!" William shouted and quickly got up and ran away. Much faster then anyone else he ran down the stairs, and out the building. Outside he was greeted by a battlefield. People dying left and right, others shooting and cheering as yet another enemy is destroyed. But it can be seen on their faces, that they know that they will die. And for that they smile.
William ran between the fire of friendlies and enemies alike, faster then an olympic athlete.
Then the artillery barrage started again and shells fell upon the command center, making it explode in a giant ball of fire.

All the troops were slowly walking backwards still shooting at the enemy forces as they did. William ran across the base and walked into a small hanger. Inside there stood an odd craft, it was saucer shaped, and had this mysterious look upon itself. To William it was a familiar sight and he quickly entered and climbed the three flights of stairs and walked into the cockpit were Natalya sat.
"Thank goodness you're allright." She said as he enetered. William smiled and sat down next to her in the co-pilot seat. "Quickly go. We have incoming bombers. And this is not my day to die." He shouted and Natalya quickly powered up the craft. "They got the radio." She said calmly. "Don't worry. We'll make it." William said.

The craft slowly came off the ground and moved out of the hanger. As it exited a missle came screaming through the air, right towards it. A couple of meters away from the craft the missle suddenly changed direction and was send into the air. Natalya who witnessed this all happen let out a sigh of relief and pilotted the craft upwards. At blinding speed the craft left the ground behind, and not a moment to soon. As the enemy bombers suddenly opened up fire on the base.
Here and there a few small dropships took off, some got shot down. But the others made it. The dropships would go into orbit and drop in allied nations.

"Where to?" Natalya asked as the craft sat on the edge of the planet. "Menelmacar. They wouldn't dare attack them." William anwsered and pointed his hand in the right direction. Natalya nodded and the craft once again sped away, this time right for Menelmacar.
After a few minutes of calm flying they approached the elven nation. "What now? We can't tell them we're friendly." Natalya asked and looked scared. "Go to the capitall. We must get their as soon as possible. Do not worry. She will not let us die just yet." Natalya nodded and the craft once again sped away towards it's destination.

ooc: Din't want to put it in the post. The craft cruises at 8,700 kph. And can have an emergency burst of 3,4000 kph. Wich they will use as you get ready to fire at it Siri.

"And you're sure of this?"

Ax-randiri Rihad - the High Lord Commodore Ax-randiri Rihad - found a skeptical expression forming on his finely chiseled features. He added, "Utterly sure?"

The satcon nodded. "Definitely. Look, see. We have definite energy halo's - explosions - in little pockets. That's fighting. Probably some air-based action, too, judging by the thermals. What's more, the MISAT network detected a number of Diablo_NL dropships hurtling across their FOV - which isn't normally an issue, but considering the red flag we have on Diablo_NL right now, it was noted. And then we have..."

He pecked at a button set into the giant oak table in the Operational Command Room, situated behind and above the vast Command Chamber that was the 'brain' of the IDF and all its many divisions.

"...this. Just a fleeting glance, mind; the MISAT in question was observing weather formations off one of the coasts of Sisgardia for some research project - but the system is set to divert extraudinairy shots our way. It picked up this little oddity."

Upon the giant screen set into - no, the wall is the screen, in actuality, so really, that should be... Upon the wall-screen is displayed a very fuzzy, poor quality shot of what looks to be a flying saucer; the white-blue of the Earth far below dominates most of the image.

"Huh. I heard about those... now wasn't Diablo_NL reported to be making odd shifts in design... didn't that come from NIOUA?"

"Yep. We think that that's one of the new-style aircraft that NIOUA reported that Diablo_NL might have. Now, we didn't seek confirmation, of course - you know how these things are - but we're pretty sure that the information came from a valid source. - And that's perhaps a prototype. I don't know. Maybe they have hundreds. - Anyway, it's important, because - to my knowledge - we have no record of having observed one of those babies anywhere before. And if it is built by Diablo_NL... well, there could be ramifications."

"Hmmm. - Get NIOUA to liase with MISSION on this one. I'm sure our Menelmacari... friends... will have an idea or two about what's happening; in the meantime, I'm advising that the Executive Council ignore the situation pending an official statement from Diablo_NL."

The satcon hesitated, then frowned slightly. "Is that wise, sir?"

"Eminantly," Rihad stated confidantly.

Except, Rihad considered silently, it absolutely isn't wise. Not in the least.

IC: President Gabriel Jewell angerly slapped the buzzer off before picking up the phone. "What is it?" He growled into the phone.
"Sorry to wake you Mr. President, but we've got some kind of situation brewing in Diablo_NL. General MacLeod is on his way right now to brief you sir."
"Understood, tell the guards to let him through." Now wide awake Gabriel hurriedly dressed and headed to the conference room. General Brian MacLeod was already waiting for him and extended a hand to his old friend. "Sorry to wake you Gabriel, but things are starting to look serious in Diablo_NL."
"No problem, now what's the situation?"
"At approximately midnight a drastic change in the radio signals coming out of the country was observed. At the same time all contact with both the Diablo_NL government and our embassy in country were lost. We altered the course of one of our satilites to take some shots of the country. The photos seem to show fire fights breaking out throughout the country. The analyists's best guess is that some kind of civil war is breaking out."
"What do we have in the area?"
"Our closest forces are located on Red Dog Base. The base is close enough for our F-28s to cover the country and the 93rd and 57th Armored Calvary Divisions could be air dropped in within two hours. I've already taken the liberty of putting them on alert, so they can lift off immediately. The 9th and 46th fleets are also within a few days steaming, by chance each of them has a full amphibious landing force attatched, those would be the 23rd and the 16th Divisons."
Gabriel rubbed his chin in thought before answering. "OK, keep trying to contact the Diablo_NL government and our embassy. Also authorise reconnaissance flights by F-28s, full radar optical and infared stealth of course. Also have the 9th and 46th fleets begin moving towards the country. Begin flying in reinforcements into Red Dog Base ASAPOS (As Soon As Possible or Sooner). If we don't get in touch with anyone over there by 0600 we'll move in on the assumption that a civil war in underway. Things are shakey enough in that region without a hostile change in government in a major power."
"I'll get right on it."

The High Council was fully reunited for an emergency session. Well, all except the Grand Duke of course, since the Grand Duke was on a guest visit to Valinon.
A TDI Bureau Chief was giving a report.

- This night, near midnight, our assets in High Orbit over Sisgardia have detected movement of forces inside of the Empire of Diablo.
The main comms upfeed with the Embassy was lost, the ambassador has to rely on the secret TDI capacities and our comms center in the Room 0 of the Embassy.

It is unclear what is happening. There are combats going on, we have detected a number of DNL dropships fleeing the area.

Leib-Marshal Berilov interrupted.

- You mean to say we have to deal with an uprising?

- Maybe, Sire. Or William is getting rid of unnappropriate elements. It is unclear what is happening.
To make things worst, we have detected EOTED sattelites in Orbit near Sisgardia, accompanied by Thelasian sattelites, also in High Orbit.

The Crown Archduke, and also the Head of the TDI, spoke.

- Leib-Marshal, I would also suggest elimination of all Thelasian assets in high Orbit over Sisgardia.

- It is already done, Your Highness...

TSF 3rd Battlegroup,
High Orbit Over Sisgardia,
TSFS "Mechta"

The Flagship "Mechta", a Thylacin Class Dreadnaught, positioned in High Orbit over Sisgardia, watched carefully a bit everything which was happening within the reach of its powerfull scanners.

The Command Bridge was busy. The ship's BSI was giving updates constantly. Scanner teams were at their posts. The Admiral sat in his command chair, watching over the operations, giving orders.
Three holoprojectors were constantly showing the latest data.
There were two lesser ones, which tracked less inmportant data and the main projector - that showed the position of the fleet and everything within range of the scanners of the entire Battlegroup. And since this Battlegroup also received data from the ground SFN installations and orbital TSV scanners, it reached out very, very far.
One of the teams affected to the 'scanner posts' called the Admiral.

- What is it?

- Sire, unknown space vessel in proximity of Sisgardian Space.

- Show on the main projector.

Immediately, a circle formed around a pictogram at what was the edge of the Sisgardian Space on the projector.

- Elena, what is that ship?

The BSI responded immediately, its voice resonating through the command bridge.

- Sire, this appears to be a Thelasian vessel, judging by its gabarits - a frigate.

- Good. If it enters Sisgardian Space - shoot it out. If not - let it be.

- Sire, should I dispatch an Emerald Spire to the area?

- Yes, do it. But order them not to fire unless it enters Sisgardian space.

- Of course, Sire.

Immediately, one of the Emerald Spire cruisers, escorting the Thylacin, broke formation and headed into the area. It stopped within the "Direct Influence Zone" of the frigate and... waited...

Back in the command center,

"Sir, we are read for operation Retreival One"

"Good, get out the fighters"

Back in orbit, two fighters swept out of formation around the frigate, kicking on their afterburners, they sped into Sisgardian space, each fighter caught a data recording pod, and kicked n their afterburners, flying back to their frigate.

As they sped back, they took several high reseution pictures of Diablo NL.

High Orbit over Sisgarida,
TSV "Udacha".

The TSV "Udacha", the Emerald Spire that was not far from the frigate caught the movement. And while the Thelas fighters sped through the entire Sisgardia into the center of it, where DNL was, it got the time to ready its weapons...
It even had the time to put itself into firing position...

And just as they were hitting the exit, and while they were still in Sisgardian space, the fighters got greeted by a salve of twelve missiles, each. Needless to say that the greeting was very, very warm, the explosions illuminating the Cruiser for a second.

The Cruiser's BSI reported to the Thylacin's BSI that they had to take out two hostiles, and immediately two other Emerald Spires were dispatched to the area, along with several wings of Wolf and Blade fighters.

OOC: Thelas, look at the map of Sisgardia. DNL is right in the center. Even if you speed at full speed from the edge of the region to the center and then back, it still gives me the time to shoot out anything.
And I guess that you did not pass through the North-Eastern part of Sisgardia, since that would even have given me the chance to use my own ground based anti-space weaponry.
And not counting the Sisgardian OMMA network, that is designed to shoot everything hostile out.
So there is no possible way for you to just enter and exit. Either you are shot out by me, by the OMMA network, or by an other Sisgardian nation.

Thelas High Command was in an uproar, some of the more millitant members wanted to send the entire Thelasian Fleet over there, thankfully, they were not the ones who got their way, Commander Netari sent a message to Tarasovka,

What makes matters worse, beond simple monitary loss, is that fact that two unarmed recovery ships were destroyed while attempting to retreive the wreckage of the satilites. I ask for,

a. an appology
b. clearance for two of our ships to retreive the debris to keep your space lanes clean

We hope that this incident does not degenerate into a war, it seems already that Diablo NL is undergoing a civil war right now, and that a war would be detremental to both sides."

Back at Thelas High Command,

"Damnit Netari, we can't let this go by"

The diplomats receive the note coming from the Thelasian high command. The High Councilor for Foreign Affairs, Leib-Count Nemirov immediately contacts the TNDF and the TDI and, having received all the needed information, puts up a responce note.

"The sattelites eliminated over Sisgardia were not authorized to be there by the SFN. We do not see any reason for two Thelasian sattelites to be over Sisgardia with no country in Sisgardia using communications services offered by Thelas.
The intruding sattelites have been diposed off by the elements of the TSF.

The two combat craft were in direct breach of Sisgardian Space and were percieved as a threat by the elements of the TSF in Orbit. The said elements have therefore disposed of the mentioned fighters.

The elements of the TSF are clearing the debris as of now and the interest Thelas has shown in them only shows the veritable nature of the afore mentioned spy sattelites.

War against the entire SFN, of which the Grand Duchy is member of, would be detrimental to Thelas. We demand that your fleet withdraws from the vicinity of the Sisgardian Space. Thelas has no right to intrude into Sisgardian affairs, being in no alliance with the SFN nations, and therefore all intrusion by the Thelasian forces into Sisgardian Space will be dealt with.
The Grand Duchy is already requesting full clearance to use the OMMA network capacities.

We have taken an interst in Diablo NL activites ever since the Knootoss war, a former member of the Dominion might understand our interest in what a former enemy is up to."

Immediate responce followed:

"As a former Dominion member, the Grand Duchy remembers that Thelas has left the Dominion before it fell, while the Grand Duchy honoured its membership till the last very day.
As a former Dominion member, the Grand Duchy has signed treaties and pacts with Knootoss and a number of other nations, which were formelly considered as 'enemies'.

The TSF will restore the gathered deirs as well as the remains of the pilots to the Thelasian assets present in the area under the condition that all Thelasian assets leave the vicinity of the Sisgardian space and no attempts will be made by Thelasian assets to intrude into the Sisgardian Space.

The Grand Duchy requests that all future transmissions from Thelas be more diplomatic and we repeat that if any hostile action is taken against the elements of the TSF in High Orbit over Sisgardia, the TSF will have no other choice but to respond. The TSF, so far, has strict orders not to attack the Thelasian fleet outside of the Sisgardian space."

***

High Orbit over Sisgardia.

A small technical frigate moved into the area with the debris and began clearing them up. The TSF wanted them to be taken whole and not disintagrated, so the frigate would 'swallow up' the pieces of metal, which would pass through a 'clearing section'.

In the said section, they would undergo a full treatment.
Especially an anti-'space-germ' electro-magnetic purge. The TSF command had insisted on this particular stage and the crew only executed orders.
The debris would undergo some other stages before they would be stored in a bay. The frigate cleared up the small field of debris, including the recovering of what remained of the bodies of the pilots...

The three Emerald Spires made way for the small technical frigate, which exited the Sisgardian space, escorted by two Wolf Interceptors.

The frigate approached the Thelasian vessel and dropped a container into the void of the space, for the Thelasian ship to recover.

The Taraskovyan frigate then moved back into Sisgardian Space.

The TSV "Udacha", one of the three Emerald Spires, opened commslink and transmitted to the Thelasian vessel.

"The container has the requested material as well as the remains of the two pilots. We request that you retrieve what you wanted and leave the vicinity of the Sisgardian space."

Orders for action moved through the chain of command of the Imperial Defence Forces of the Empire of the Eternal Dawn with rapidity and efficiency; the entire organisation operated, after all, on a single premise: OODA - and was guided, in essence although not in actuality, by a single hand. That hand was Sarah; the worlds first and only semantic artificial intelligence, dependant on words and phrases rather than noughts and ones at the operating level - she was not exactly unique, however. SHODAN, no doubt, now possessed the more advanced components that she had been allowed access to during Sarah's brief rampancy following the Great Defensive War against Morgoth.

Yet this dependance on words by Sarah did not slow her down; she could quite easily control other computers to calculate for her, just as any human would. And the decision-making process - as all calculation was external and brought no drain to Sarah herself - was as a result far, far faster than another artificial intelligence of a similar class and functional level. And so Sarah functioned as Operating Liason Officer for the IDF; the entire IDF. Orders could be passed rapidly from key position to key position in the highly centralized military force - or they could be delivered direct from the Executive Council at the top of the COC directly to the most lowly officer imaginable; or just about anyone else in between.

Therefore, when called upon, she delivered orders with all the rapidity expected; her performance never varied (or hadn't yet), except when she was conducting multiple tasks. But then... nobody's perfect.

And so the small army of MISATs of varying type and class above the Empire of the Eternal Dawn in so-called magnetosynchronous orbit (and erroneously so, despite the poetic correctness of the analogy) recieved their orders just two and a half seconds after the order came from the Executive Council.

Silently, a cluster of MISATs - all of them MISATmk1a's, the new high-resolution non-armed satelites to replace the previous class still dominantly in service - sweep out from the cluster monitoring the Empire and 'fan out' above Sisgardia. As they move, their MI fields fizz with electron discharge as particulate matter is diverted away by the 'false vacuum effect'; even larger mass is diverted, thanks to the co-operation of the entire MISAT observation/defense network in locating key threats and collecting threat assesment/projected trajectories/vectors/velocities from the Imperial Space Navy Control Centre, on Mount Tumnore - the tallest mountain in the Empire, and the chosen site for the new space elevator.

Noticable only by their - small - electromagnetic signatures and the visual sparks of their MI fields interacting with debris, the satelites exert no thermal energy as they move; they are silent and black against the light-soaked night of NEO space.

As a unit, they halt.

As a unit, their lower halves literally unroll and sweep upwards, forming a sheathe over the upper quadrant of the satelites; stored inside are the new EM-contained mercury mirror .5inch resolution ground observation telescopes - and assorted other scanning suites, across the EM radiation spectrum.

Quietly, for now, the EOTED satelites observe Diablo_NL with extreme vigilance; rapidly altering the shapes of their mirrors, the satelites observe hundreds of locations, randomly selected from a database back in Nenya, every few seconds; and there are fifteen satelites in all.

Clearly, EOTED is watching.

Menelmacari Border Sentinel Tower 374-A, Eastmark

Thalion leaned back on his chair with his feet on the console, watching the screens, sipping a coffee, and listening to music. Nobody was foolish enough to breach Menelmacari airspace; everyone coming in within his sector was cleared and had a full flight plan, everyone leaving - well, Menelmacar cared little who left, really, but they tracked it anyway - just in case. All in all, manning a Sentinel tower - which appeared to the onlooker as a tall spear of alabaster and silver, festooned with assorted weapons and sensors and comms, rising out of the treetops; such towers lined the Menelmacari borderlands - was a pretty easy and usually uneventful job.

Which is why Thalion was rather surprised when the console started beeping.

Incoming contact, moving fast and erratically - and no flight plan filed. Which meant he didn't even have to check with Command, because without a plan, people didn't get cleared. Next step was to call up the blip and see if they were in distress... if they did not respond, he could shoot.

"Sentinel Tower 374-A to incoming unidentified contact. Identify yourself and state your business immediately."

No answer. He wouldn't get one, the craft's comm was off - though he had no way of knowing this.

"Tower 374-A to incoming contact. You will state your business or we will fire."

Two strikes... Come on, answer, dammit. Thalion gritted his teeth. I'm not in the mood to kill anyone today.

"Tower 374-A to contact. Respond, immediately. This is your final warning."

And it was. Three strikes. One... two... He counted slowly down from ten to give the pilot time to answer. All the while the ship closed.

...nine... ten. It's a clean shoot... by the book...

Thalion sighed, and opened fire. The cannons spoke, filling the sky with starfire, a deadly crimson hail that the contact - at the speed it was moving, whether gravitic or not - would be highly unlikely to avoid.

Eru have mercy on me.

"Bank left now." William said. "What do you mean?" Natalya asked and William quickly jumped up and pushed the controls left, while saying. "I ment bank left now."
The craft quickly moved left but it was to late, the shots hit the craft in right side. By destroying a large hull section the drive din't function perfectly anymore and the craft spun uncontrollably towards the forested ground, leaving behind a puff of smoke here or there.
William and Natalya sat in their seats and held on tightly as the craft fell to the ground in it's spin. The treetops of the forest came closer and closer untill the craft hit them, breaking the tops of the trees like match sticks. The hit in the tree tops send the craft down on a steeper angle straight through some trees and into the moist ground.
It took a few minutes for William to get up. "Natalya you allright." He asked, but no anwser. "Natalya?" He asked once more and looked for her. To his horror she lie there on the ground, her legs clearly broken. He quickly jumped to her and checked to see if she was still alive. He let out a sigh of relief when he found out she was clearly still alive. He looked over her body and when all seemed will grabbed her and carried her to the craft's door. Outside he lied her down in a patch of moss.
William went inside again and grabed a pistol and a flare gun from the cockpit. Quickly walking outside again he fired off a flare, wich left behind a trail of smoke straight down to his position.
He would fire a flare every 10 minutes till someone arrived.

Thalion peered out the window - a flare blazed up through the crowns of the mellyrn. Part of him was glad - survivors... not everyone aboard had died. Another part groaned, because survivors meant extra paperwork. Granted it was all done on datapads and flexisheets, but the archaic term lived on.

He went to his comm and started placing the appropriate calls. Troops - which he didn't have - would be sent from the nearest base, and would be able to search the crash sight within an hour or so, barring incredibly bad luck.

William stopped shooting off flares after an hour, he had 6 left and he better save them. He walked over to his ship and looked at the damage it sustained, it was quite a lot, but it could be salvaged.
He was just about to look around the surroundings a bit more when a few grunts of Natalya startled him. He quickly ran over to her and she was slowly trying to sit up. He sat down beside her and supported her back. "You allright Natalya?" He asked and it took some time for her to anwser. "Yes but my legs and head hurt." William smiled. "I see you've been doing the training. Both your legs are broken. Normally you'd be screaming in agony." He said and stroked her head. Natalya looked quite suprised at William and peers down at her legs, they seemed allright at first glance, but she soon saw that they were bent a little.
"You better go do that." Natalya said and laid back down on her back. William looked quite confused at her. "I din't say anything." He said and Natalya's eyes openned wide as she realised what happened. "No I don't want this!" She shouted and William quickly silenced her by placing his finger on her lips. "It's all right. The knock to your head must have made you loose control, it'll come back with time." He said. "Now I better go make a fire." He got up and grabbed dry wood and grass off the ground, never leaving the ship or Natalya out of sight.

After he made a fire with some waterproof matches, he went inside the craft and grabbed some ration packs.
He warmed up their meals, wich were bound to have all the essentials but lack much flavour. He sat Natalya straight up against the crafts hull and gave her her ration pack, wich she quickly opened and started eating the contents. "How long do you think untill they'll find us?" Natalya asked. We might have to spend the night. William thought and Natalya nodded she understood him before he said anything.
They ate their meal and talked about what they were going to do. Well Natalya did the talking and William only had to think it and she knew what he wanted to say.

It was soon getting dark outside and William got some more wood and put a bit of it on the fire, the rest he would put on during the course of the night. He had moved Natalya into the craft and lied her down some place comfortable, she'd be safer in there then outside. He sat lonely in the hatch of the craft with the pistol in his hand, and tended to the fire when ever it was needed. This was bound to be a long and dull night.

Back in the capitall, New Avalon, the enemy has trampled over the last bits of resistance, and conquered the political headquarters of Diablo_NL. There was some smoke of fires from the battle still rising up into the sky, as slowly the sun started to rise. A well looking man, dressed in clothes of emerald green, walked into through the front door of the large needle pointed building. Walking with an air of authority around him, he walked up to an officer who stood at the lobby desk, shouting orders at some troops.
As the man in green walked near he turned and saluted him. "Sir. We have everything under controll, most of the royal forces fled in dropships, as soon as we get message to the fleet we can shoot them out of orbit." The officer said, with a frightened tone in his voice. The man squinted his eyes and saw the officer's rather frightened expression. "Excellent, keep doing your work well. I see there is much honour in store for you." He said in a rather friendly voice. The officer nodded and let out a sigh of relief.

Moments later the office that once belonged to William was filled with camera's, and a picture of Sirithil lied broken on the floor. A man behind a camera counted down on his fingers visibly and when he reached 0 the camera's started broadcasting throughout the known universe.

"Good day ladies and gentlement. I am Shaul Fiacre. After a carefully planned out, well executed and honourable battle, we have been able to drive out William Xylon and his loyalists from the nation of Diablo_NL. Now do not be alarmed by this news. William was a weak and incompetent man, who never followed through on his threats. His retreat alone shows his dishonour and cowerdice.
Now I have been apointed the new ruler over the Empire of Diablo_NL. That includes both Alpha Centauri and earth. We would like to keep all the ties we have with our allies as they are. We only request them to hand over William and/or his loyalist, or information about there whereabouts to us.
May there be much honour on the path ahead of us."

And then the broadcasting stopped. Shaul walked over to the officer from before and spoke. "Keldan, record the following and send it to Morgoth."
"Aye sir."
"Morgoth, you have most likely just witnessed my introduction, I am Shaul Fiacre, and I wish to set up a dialogue between our two empires. You see we rather do not like these Sirithilists that weaken the people. May there be much honour in the path ahead of you." He said. "Got that?"
"Aye sir."
"Excellent. Now get to it."

Deep in the bowels of the earth, Lord Melkor sat brooding in his throne room [big surprise there].

Alkanphel strode into the room as the door was pushed open by a pair of Southron captains, clad in their crimson battle jackets. A nod was given to the men by the Maia as he stepped into the room, his datapad held behind him. "Seems there's been a regime change in Diablo_NL."

Morgoth looked to Lord Alkanphel, as a dark smile spread slowly across his face. "I'd heard. Seems to me to be an interesting opportunity to gain new allies."

Alkanphel nodded in turn, and took a seat, crossing his legs, with the datapad propped on his knee. "I'd have thought our isolationist policy of late would have alienated us from the mainstream. It appears to have done the opposite."

Morgoth chuckled, the deep sound rumbling the halls. Alkanphel winced. He hated it when Morgoth did that. The Dark Lord continued. "Perhaps we could find some way to integrate them into our plans for the Empire of Eternal Dawn. Research their relations. Dispatch a transmission to the effect that we would be more than happy to foster our relation with the developing Diablo_NL regime. Invite their dignitaries to Utumno for a state dinner."

Tower of the Prime Minister, The Hague, Knootoss

"And then there is this matter of the regime change in Diablo...", the state-secretary added wearily.

Prime Minister Lousewies van der Laan siged. She had a headace from discussing economics all day with many different people. All these conflicting views and propsosed actions were driving her mad. The only good news that day had some from the Social-Economic Council the SER: the economy was displaying it's first weak signs of recovery.

"Well, I don't know what to say about it. It does not seem like they wish to change relations or anything. And this new regime can only be a positive boost to relations given King William's... oddities."

Lousewies nodded: "Yes, this new regime will probably be more rational. Sent them a fruitbasked or something when the takeover is confirmed. We wouldn't want to offend the old regime. We should wait to see what the Menelmacari are doing too. That's probably key."

"Mrs, there is another problem", Galadriël added cautiously. She never liked those briefings and preferred to do things on her own. "The new regime is asking for extradition of William."

The Prime Minister of Knootoss groaned and rubbed her forehead with her right hand. "Why... well that's really not an option. I mean, you can't ask of us to do that." She thought for a moment. "What do you think we should do?"

Galadriël frowned: "I don't think we should make that choice if we do not have to. I say we wait and remain vague on the issue. After all, chances that William will go to the DDR are minimal. He will probably go to see Sirithil."

The matter was agreed and the pair moved on to the next subject...

Back in space the sperical dropships of the fled loyalists of William sat in orbit. Fedor Petrov, a man unkown outside of Diablo_NL, but a well known scientist amongst it's people, slowly walked to the bridge of the dropship. "Captain. Why are we not going to re-enter atmosphere?" He said quickly as if in a hurry.
"Normally we would be picked up by either the fleet or return to earth, but we do not know where to land, considerring what happened."
"So you are telling me we have been here in orbit all this time for nothing?"
"Perhaps, at least we are following protocall."
Fedor looked as if he was about to kill the man, but he just shouted out loud. "I am assuming command of this vessel, and I order you to tell Menelmacar that we are going to be coming in real soon."
"Why Menelmacar?" The captain asked and quickly looked at the comm officer who was trying to establish contact.
"It's where William would go. Also get the word out to the other dropships to land in allied nations, prefferably as far away from Diablo_NL."

Back in New Avolon Shaul sat at the desk that was once that of William. He rubbed his hand over the surface and noted the dent in the surface. "Could it be true?" He thought to himself. He had heard of these things, but never expected William to be one. He looked at a computer screen and read Morgoth's reply. Shaul was happy to read that Morgoth agreed to hold a dialogue. "Keldan, I want you to start packing for a trip. We will be going to Melkor Unchained." He said with an evil smile on his lips.

Back in the heavy forests of Menelmacar William climbed into his craft and woke up Natalya. "No ship and it's already morning, huh?" She said and William nodded. "My head is feeling a bit better, but reading your thoughts and that of all these animals is annoying, luckilly I have been able to block everything that isn't mammel." She said and pushed herself upright.
"If help doesn't come soon we'll have to try and repair the radio, for now I'll shoot off two flares." He said and quickly ran outside and fired off a singel flare.
William looked around as he fired the flare and saw the fire was still burning quite well. He quickly ran in and opened a compartment and grabbed some rubber objects and carried them outside and threw them on the fire. The thick black smoke would show anyone where they were.

IDF High Command, somewhere beneath Nenya

The Commissioner hovered - well, stood - several feet behind the desk of one of the IDFI satops, peering at the man's trimensional display 'visor.

"Hmmm. Sir, I have a MISAT feed from Menelmacar; Tatya put a brown flag on it - there's a thick black plume of smoke at grid twenty-one by gee."

The Commissioner frowned, slightly, tapping a finger against his hip. "That's odd; why would she put a brown flag on something so... mundane?" He paused for a few moments.

"Wait," he continued, "do we have a cause and source for it?"

Swivelling in his seat, the satop shook his head. "Negative on the cause and the source, sir. Might be a forest fire - but then, the smoke looks a little too black for that. Wait a moment-"

He swivelled, working at the terminal for a few moments. "That's odd. It appears to be a mixture of materials burning; including rubber. - I'm sure the Menelmacari satelites have picked it up, but I don't see anything that looks like an active response on the ground. Perhaps we should inform them?"

"Mmm," the Commissioner considered, "yes, we probably ought to. Relay the datafeed to the relevant Menelmacari agency; if we've spotted a forest fire out there," he waved a hand vaguely, "and we sit on it, I doubt they'll be terribly impressed if it comes out later."

The satop nodded, and pecked at his terminal again.

"Done."

Incredibly bad luck had been the order of the day. The crash site had not been far from a road in the forest, but a landslide in the mountains had blocked it. So a medevac dropship had been sent instead.

The Skywraith cruised low over the treetops, the mottled green and gold of an endless sea of mallorn leaves waving in the subtropical breeze. The plume of smoke stuck out like a sore thumb, actually. Fortunately the forest itself was not aflame. The dropship came to a halt above the crash site, and Mornahossë on zip-lines descended through the treetops to the shattered vessel on the forest floor.

"Turn of that damn noise!"

Two seconds later, the alarms stopped ringing. In one of the handful of control centers located in Uthar, technicians, analists, engineers and military personnel rushed to their stations scattered across the building. Conference rooms, monitoring stations, listening posts, think tanks, everything was fully staffed.

Councelor Robert Stone, on of the three most powerful individuals within the Corporation, stood inside the central command center, wondering what the hell had caused them to notice this so incredibly late. Raising an eyebrow, he realised that he actually wanted a concrete answer to that question. Turning to face his second in command, he asked:

"Why haven't we noticed this? Normally, we pick these things up before they even commence."

"Sir, that's because our assets were spread thin lately. With Delendre's son in Valonia, EOTED mobilising, a dropship full of marines missing in Skargarden, and the Knootian contract at Sajuuk, we had already allocated most of our personnel and monitoring equipment. We assumed that Sisgardia would remain stable, as it always has been."

"I understand. Well, all that has changed now. It seems like the Grand Duchy is on top of things, isn't it?"

"Yes, actually they are. Their intelligence service seems to be quite...formidable."

"Allright, this is what we do. From now on, we don't care about EOTED, Valonia, the colonies or Aperin. What matters now is internal stability. I want all available satellites in good positions as fast as possible. Warn the fith fleet above Sisgardia and tell them to look for DNL refugees taking of from the surface. Mobilise our Battlemech regiments, and make sure we have special forces on stand by. Also, tell Internal Security that their top priority as of now is to find out if any of this is also going on amongst the DNL immigrants in TVC."

Honored friends, we need a favor. To our deepest regret, we have noticed the situation in DNL far too late. We need information. We need to know what exactly happened. Who is in control, and what parts of DNL do they control? We don't even nkow where William and his trustees are, let alone if they are still alive. We are moving armed forces to the border, but we hesitate to interfere in a situation of which we have little knowledge.

Please, tell us what is going on, so that we might respond in defence of our allies.

Signed,

Rober Stone-Soban

[Message:

Shaul Fiacre, High Ranked member of the DNL military, during a rapid coup-d'etat, took posession of the entire territory of DNL.
We presume Shaul is in control of the major part of DNL military assets.
TNDF surveilance detected dropships fleeing from DNL territory.
Presumed to be forces loyal to William fleeing the combat areas.
Destination - Menelmacar.
Status of William is unknown. We suggest that he fled to Menelmacar.

TNDF on Highest State of Alert. TND NF Battlegroups circling the territorial waters of DNL. TSF on highest state of alert following intrusion into Sisgardian space by Thelasian space assets.
TND GF preparing for possible intervention.

We suggest not intervening for now. The High Council is in crisis session discussing the matter.

TNDF Suggestion: Stand ready to fight off possible foreign intervention into Sisgardia.

TDI and TNSD are taking emergency measures against possible DNL Intelligence Personel in the territory of the Grand Duchy. The TISD is looking into the DNL diaspora in GDT.

William looked up at the Mornahossë as they came down, he carefully placed down the flare gun and pistol onto the ground, not wanting to provoke an attack. He quickly jumped inside and grabbed Natalya in his arms and carried her out. He walked over to one of the elves with her. "She has two broken legs, and has lost controll over some telepathic abbillities. I'm glad to see you here." He said, and making sure the insignia of the Diabloan flag on his arms were clear to see, so they knew that if they din't recognise him.

After having received the message from their Taraskovyan brethern, the Kiithid of the Vortex Corporation responded fast. Every senior officer in the Corporation had an utmost loyalty and dedication towards the protection of Sisgardia. For many, it practically equalled the commitment with which they defended their own homelands. And during training at the many academies, the younger soldiers had copied this behaviour, creating a fighting force that was extremely motivated towards the preservation of peace and stability in the region.

All over the nation, emergency dispatches, hailing from the Utharian command centers, started coming in. Battlemech regiments, hoverdyne divisions, marines, terradynes, aerodynes and mechanized units, everything was put on high alert. Special forces were deployed in the border territories with DNL, and surveillance satellites maneuvred themselves into position.

In an emergency meeting, the Daiamid Council started debating on the appropriate course of action. One thing was already established after the first half hour of debate: foreign forces would not be allowed into Sisgardia without permission. If the word of Thelassian elements approaching was true, than action had to be taken. The Psionic Rig was brought to maximum scanning range, OMMa defences were functioning, and inside the Utharian lands, the Monolith defences were brought online.

~To the Grand Duchy of Tarasovka~

Thank you for the information. We are debating on the appropriate course of action, just like you. We do know one thing though: foreign intervention will not take place without full SFN authorization. We intend to stop any forces on approach. Are you with us?

~To the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar~

We have gotten word that the former regent of DNL, William of Avalon, might have sought refugee within your borders. Please, as we are extremely concerned about his safety, tell us if you find out anything about him or his staff.

Also, we have noticed Thelas fleet elements approaching Sisgardian airspace. Since the Eternal Noldorin Empire seems to have some degree of influence in the Thelas government, we beg you to ask them to remove themselves from our vicinity. The situation is already fragile enough without them interfering

~To the Empire of Thelas~

We have noticed your fleet approaching the space above Sisgardian territory. Please be aware that you do not have permission to bring armed craft to our territories. Also, the fact that your fleet has deployed its units in the sight of our own defence fleets is perceived as a threat.

Please be so kind as to remove you fleets from the vicinity. We will not stand responsible for the consequences if Thelas chooses to continue these intimidations.

###

The fifth fleet, positioned stationary above Sisgardia, immediately started running status checks. Systems were diagnosed and all weaponry was re-calibrated quickly, yet in efficient manner. Two hours later, jumpgates opened and the third and fourth fleet, hailing from the Sajuuk and Stratos shipyards, jumped back into normal space. Originally called to Earth in relation to the EOTED crisis, the Daiamid Council had decided they would be of more use in the current situation.

Vortex, Thelasian fleet left the vicinity of Sisgardia. There is some little frigate up there that is to go soon... or be accidentally shot out by a squadron of misguided drones which accidentally had a corrupted AI
Poor drones :(

[Message:

All elements ready to fight off possible invasion. Have orders to take custody and AIR anything that enters Sisgardian space without authorization.

No orders for additional TNDF mobilization. TNDF scaling up of activity kept secret. TSF deployment kept secret.

Traced EOTED sattelite activity. Shortly after, EOTED sattelite activity recently ceased, presumed EOTED has something else to worry about. Recent EOTED mobilisation only confirms that.

Thelasian elements withdrew. Last elements to withdraw soon. Refusal to comply will enact AIR orders.

The healer on the Mornahossë squad carefully looked over Natalya, and called up to the dropship. A sort of bed was lowered from the dropship, and they placed Natalya on it; she was quickly raised up to the ship. A harness was provided to William, so he could be hauled up to the ship as well. All in all, the entire operation took perhaps ten, maybe fifteen minutes, and the Vilyulairë blazed off southwestwards.

William sat down in the dropship, the comfort of the ship was pleasent after staying awake for many hours and sitting on a metallic floor. He looked at Natalya and saw she was in good hands, still very tired she had her eyes closed. His eyes drifted of to look at the many elves aboard the ship, thier beautifull yet efficient armor. He looked for one of them to be destinguished from the others, the officer and leader of the group. Finding him he slowly walked up to the man and in his best of voice said. "Hantalyë." Thanking him in his native tongue. He bowed slightly towards him before sitting down again and closed his eyes, trying to get a little rest before arriving in what would surely be Vinyatirion.

Indeed, the Vilyulairë carried the two to Vinyatirion; once their identity was ascertained, they were brought to the palace, where Natalya was admitted to the infirmary there, where Sirithil herself receives medical treatment on the unlikely occasions that she actually needs it. There Natalya would receive the best possible care.

William, meanwhile, was brought to the Elentári's office, where she was seated behind her desk, the lights of the city bright and beautiful out the windows behind her.

"Welcome," she said. "You seem to have gone to great pains to get here."

William smiled and his eyes light up sky blue as he looked at Sirithil. “Indeed I have. But they would be worthwhile. Menelmacar is great and powerful, for my enemies to try and attack me here would be foolish. And thusly I thank you for your hospitality.” He says and bows slightly. “Also great thanks for taking care of Natalya, she’s a very bright women, and to lose her would have wrecked my predecessor’s heart.” He pauses.
“Now on to business.” He says and his eyes turn an emerald green. “As much as I would like it I would wish to leave soon. I will visit some nations, who have not been allied with myself, and try to gain their friendship. It might seem as surprising when I say that I want to visit most of the Triumvirate of Yut nations, but that’s why I must do it. Now do you have any questions milady empress?” He says to her.

Shaul sat in his office looking over some documents regarding a slight rebellious uprising amongst the people. It seems not everyone was going to let him get away with his power grab, and they have made things difficult for his police force to function.
“Come in.” Shaul grumbled as a reply to a knock on the door. Inside stepped Keldan his uniform nice, clean and on straight. The man walked over to Shaul’s desk and stood by the chair in front of it, tapping his fingers lightly on the back of it. “Go ahead and sit down.” He said and gestured to the chair as he continued reading the reports. Keldan opened his mouth to talk but was quickly shushed by Shaul. “Silence while I read.” He said and he went on with his reading.
After a few minutes he put the datapad down and looked at Keldan. “Absolutely horrible. Not only are they disrupting work, mainly of the police force. But they are also using passive resistance. You know the not hit back stuff. It’s totally barbaric. I bet Sirithilism has more to do with this.” He paused and let out a sigh. “So you wanted to talk to me.” He said and gazed at Keldan.
“Ah yes thank you. What I wanted to talk to you about is William, we think we know where he is.” He said and handed Shaul a few datapads with images of a forest with black smoke rising out of it. “So, there’s a forest fire I don’t see what this has to do with William’s whereabouts.” Shaul said and carefully looked into Keldan’s eyes.
“Well the smoke contained traces of metal, meaning something metallic was burning there as well. The thing that made us more certain is that it was this metal trace.” He said and handed another datapad showing an complex molecule. “So we have reason to believe William is in Menelmacar.” Keldan looked at Shaul with a hint of fear in his eyes.
Shaul rose slowly out of his seat and walked around his desk and stood behind Keldan and lightly petted him on the shoulder, witch made Keldan let out a sigh of relief. “Excellent work, now all we need to do is find him, and kill him.” Shaul said and sat back in his seat. “Well that was our plan but Menelmacar’s security it is so tight, how can we get someone inside?” Keldan said, his voice trembling. “We’ll use a Gene we already have inside the nation.” “We have someone already inside Menelmacar?” Keldan said in amazement. “Oh yes we do. William probably knows about it. It is just a Gene that moved their during our good times with them. Now all we need is get a message to him.” Shaul said and a grin appeared on his face. “Now be gone, I need to ponder.” He said, and Keldan rose from his chair and left the room.

Sirithil nods, with a smile. "Natalya will be fine, give it a few days; you are welcome to stay as long as you require."

"Questions?" she asks. "Well, all right. Tell me precisely what has happened in your realm, and how this Shaul creature could possibly have seized power."

“I am not certain myself milady. I thought my people loved me, but it seems I was wrong about that. It seems to me that he rallied certain influential generals in my army, and my most trusted man even, whom I had to kill for my own safety.” He pauses for a moment and curses under his breath. “Thank you for your hospitality milady, I would love to stay, but the sooner I get talks with other nations started, the better. I believe you will understand.” He said and bowed his head down. “One question milady. Have those that were loyal to me and fled, arrived in safety?”

"Which people in particular do you speak of? There are those who have come to our frontiers requesting amnesty, if that is what you mean."

She pondered a moment. "Is there anything else you will require?"

William shook his head. "Nothing further m'lady, thank you for all your help." He said and slowly walked away to start on his journey to other nations.

Back in New Avalon Shaul got word that William most deffinatly was in Menelmacar, but was about to leave to destinations unknown.
