OOC: Mock of Brave New Ford's Foreign Missionary thread...

In the middle of Saint John's, the largest city in The Oppressive Church, an Atheist stood up on a soap box, and yelled at the people pouring out of the Cathedral after an evening mass. "Don't you realize how futile and useless Religion is!? You people are wasting your lives away, worshiping a deity that doesn't exist!"

Everything froze on the street... Before everyone collapsed to their knees from hysterical laughter.

"But, you can't prove your 'God' exists!" Yelled the Atheist.

"Yeah, but you can't prove he doesn't!" A person yelled

"You fool, you're the one wasting your life with carnal pleasures, when all that matters is the afterlife!" Another person yelled.

"This is only but a short period of our existence, we must worry about after Earth, and not fret about the now or here! Believe in which God you must, but make sure you take care of your afterlife!" Yelled another.

"Yeah, and Atheism doesn't provide hope! The Church at least provides us with hope that there is something after this world!" Yelled another.

"Come with me buddy..." Said a policeman, trying to hold back his laughter.

"But this nation has Free Speech!" Cried the Atheist.

"True, but you're causing a Public Spectacle, which is illegal under the antiriot laws." The Policeman snickered as he walked him to his Police Car.

The Oppressive Church Official Announcement to the International Community:

The Oppressive Church arrested an Atheist today.
Atheist refuses to claim nationality, and is not resident of the Oppressive Church.
TOC requests Atheist nation, which has lost it's sense of direction, and walked the path away from God, to step forward and claim your wayward menacing Citizen.
We will not subject him to torture, like The New Ford World did to the Foreign Missionary within his boarders, because we are civilized, and know that all Humanity is God's children, and no one deserves to be tortured, or forced to be converted, to see his/her errors in their ways. We only put the wayward foolish Atheist into a bible reading session, which is not considered torture, and is not showing him the error in his ways, only showing him our ways.

Mr. Walther's house recently burned down, so we do not at the moment have a photograph to send to you, and he has not renewed his driver's license recently, so our database photograph is out of date. His family members are currently looking for a photo and should have one to us shortly. In the mean time, we have discovered by searching through airline booking records that Mr. Walther purchased two round-trip tickets to St. John's, Oppressive Church last week, and left the day after purchase. It is unknown who he was traveling with, both tickets were under his name. His family tells us that he was due back two days ago. Now it is known why.

TOC's Airport's are currently searching their databases for any passenger names James T. Walther, and if they know anything more...

And for the record, yelling anything out in public that causes mass hystaria, and blocks traffic of the streets, is a Public Spectacle, and against our antiriot laws...

As far as I can tell from your statement, what he said was hysterical, not hysteria causing. If anything, the blocked traffic can be blamed on the citizens of St. John's not having enough common sense to move out of the road or keep moving instead of laughing and rubber necking.

The nation of Crownguard finds it rather laughable the Oppressive Church, fresh from its problems with the DSRO, now performs this publicity stunt. Also, it is even MORE laughable that they were conquered by Roania after trusting other so called "men of God". We would feel outraged..and are somewhat..however, we honestly feel the Oppressive Church is not in any case worth the time of the world as regards its own idiotic policies.

Galdania does insist that the man be released to his nation of citizenship, but understands that he was arrested for causing a 'Public Spectacle'.

However, by forcing him to read your propaganda book 'the bible', you are causing Galdania to feel great anger towards ToC.

If he does not in fact respond to this name, perhaps it is because of the torture which ToC has used upon him.

Well we can certainly say he is not a citizen of Slutbum Wallah. In this country the favoured weapon of all religious cults, groups, and hecklers is not the cunning argument or the cutting remark but rather, the firebomb. For example only last week the Free Right-Thinking Moral Catholics broke up a meeting of the New Age Christian Believers of Hope and Justice with the aid of three molotov cocktails and a selection of sports equipment. Luckily for the New Age Christian Beliavers of Hope and Justice, they were studying martial arts as a way of converting the unbeliever, allowing them to incapacitate the Free Right-Thinking Moral Catholic Bishop and make good their escape. They are planning a counterattack sometime this week.

Except it is torture, have you ever noticed how long that thing is. I wouldn't read a quarter of it even if I did believe in it. Poor guy has to sit there and listen to a bunch of shit that he'd never believe in his wildest dreams.

Only one thing though, I think it's right to subject him to some kind of torture. Anyone who expresses their beliefs outside of their church/temple/mosque/whatever (unless its a holiday in their religion) should be taken into custody.

Okay, real life Christians in the real world, wouldn't do anything like that. The last atrocity Christianity commited that was anywhere near that was in 1400-something.

To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
The action was the dominance of the Church of Western civ for a huge part of 2000 years.
The reaction, is the harder line anti-religious stance many people now take because of the church's past mistakes, and the mistakes that the church is still currently making.

There is the fact that we can't be everywhere, do everything, and see everything at once. And the only reason my government stepped in here is because we believe it's one or our citizens.

In the middle of Saint John's, the largest city in The Oppressive Church, an Atheist stood up on a soap box, and yelled at the people pouring out of the Cathedral after an evening mass. "Don't you realize how futile and useless Religion is!? You people are wasting your lives away, worshiping a deity that doesn't exist!"

Everything froze on the street... Before everyone collapsed to their knees from hysterical laughter.

OOC: Basically, you can't prove a negative. For example, you can't prove that the Giant Radioactive Space Hamster doesn't exist, because to do that, you would have to be observing every concievable place at the same time.

I think It can be argued that a general being know as "god" by dictionary definition exists, but since thats not the point of this thread I won't elaborate.

OOC: On the contrary, it is for the athiest to prove god does not exist, but as for proof, theres always the big bang. The Burden of proof is always on the athiest and not every thing can be explained by logic as there are some things that happen in the world that can not be explained by Logic.
