At Noon today, we had our first Soma-related murder on record in the Holy Empire of Kecha, Charles Mukly was arrested today after shooting Alex Biggs in the head with a 9mm pistol, just outside the Apartment Building both men lived in, it was at night, and Mukly used a silencer on the pistol, he thought there were not witnesses, but one of the other Citizens living in the Apartment Building, and the Police came swiftly, arresting Mukly that very night, when asked why he did it, Mukly said he was afraid Biggs would reveal his Soma stash to the Police, his stash, worth several thousand Tyras, has been confiscated, it has been found to be of a strong, street-made version of Soma called Deep Freeze, Mukly is expected to go on trial soon.

OOC:By the way if you haven't seen it, theres going to be a civil war soon in Tordor, its building up right not, followers of the late unlamanted Chairman Woe formed neo TPLA party and will soon try to seize power and seek revenge on the IDI and former IDI nations, and other nations that foiled Chairman Woe as well as the SS attempted take over of Vorena.

Odd, I thought soma wasn't supposed to be habit-forming...

...then again, pleasure itself is habit-forming. Is there any chance of Mr. Mukly ever being returned to society, or is he unreformable?

Also, if we could have a sample of this street concoction. We don't want any harmful drugs showing up unexpectedly; best to start working on treatments now.

Soma is also referenced in William S. Burroughs' NAKED LUNCH where it was said "I have heard that there was once a beneficient, non habit-forming junk in India. It was called soma and is pictured in a beautiful blue tide. If soma ever existed the Pusher was there to bottle it and monopolize it and sell it and it turned into plain old time JUNK." Incidentally, soma is also the brand name of carisoprodol, a powerful prescription muscle relaxer (non-habit-forming, so they say).

I thought Soma was a RL sleep aid. poor confused old me. :cry:

The Brave New Ford World would like to remind everyone that true Soma is non-addictive and we have gained a sample of the street version called Deep Freeze through our "sources" and the tests have revealed that this Deep Freeze is a tainted product which has a chemical similarity to the drug cocaine and is considered to be highly toxic by our top scientists. Soma has no such relation to cocaine and as such the Deep Freeze drug will be one that we will not allow our people to use to preserve the stability of the Fordsystem of Government.

IC: In any case, this drug is related to Soma, and such drugs only came to Kecha when someone, who will not be mentioned here for lack of presentable proof, tried to make a Black Market for Soma in our nation, on a different note, our Police have been notified of the existence of your "Sources" and will be working to uncover them now Mr. Montei.

You can try, but we have many ways to get the information that the BNFW requires barbarian.
