well 1 Loop is roughly = to 2.15 US dollars
however our currency is set in Base 8 so there are 80 subloops to the Loop
4 loop notes, 8 Loop notes, 16 loop notes ect.
[Moderator Edit - Cogitation] This was split from this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92393) topic. [/modedit]

80? Eight times ten? Why not 64? :P

Hey loop: Base-8 uses only 0-7, just like base-10 uses only 0-9. You can't have 8-loop notes when you don't have a number 8 ;) (those would be 10-loop notes, unless you are using base-10 to express the numbers ... if you aren't, 16 in b-8 is 14 in b-10, and that doesn't seem to follow logically.
*hopes he hasn't just destroyed the loop-ian economy*

Ooooh, octonary... Fun... :D
It's generally referred to as Octal, not Octonary

Just to point out that your currency doesn't necessarily relate to the state of your economy. It more correctly relates to your balance of payments i.e. if you export much more than you import, that puts upward pressure on your currency and if you import much more than you export, that puts downward pressure on your currency.
Well, I'm not sure where you got that list, but I would have to disagree. Those names simply mean 'of and or relating to said number', not to bases using them. Base 10 is Decimal, Base 16 is Hexadecimal, and Base 8 is Octal

yes you can request it
Then can that be considered as a request for it to happen then? :P
And don't be pedantic... *slaps* :P

It could be considered a request for it to happen, but it's not. :P
By the way, pedantery is a hobby of mine. :P

Now considering that you didn't actually request it, I'm going to go ahead and split it, anyway.

Hehehe... And beating around the bush is a hobby of mine... :P
Anyway, Phoebos: The number systems are weird..
"It is octal"
"It uses an octonary sequence" (I think this is right...)
In the same way Computers are programmed (indirectly) in Binary, and we all do maths in Denary (usually). That list of words is purely the Latin words, not the true applications of them...
